I'd like a kid or two eventually. Just later in life.

And free labor while they're still living in the house.

Not necessarily. My parents pay me for my labor around the house. Not for things like chores, but actual labor they pay me for.

You're lucky then. My parents used to pay me when I was younger but once I was old enough to understand the value of the dollar, they kept saying things like "we pay for food, education, the house, energy, etc etc."

It was the other way around for me. I got an allowance but no payment for work around the house as a kid. As an adult, no allowance, but I get paid for the labor.

xd xd xd I know that situation all too well, Talon whee We had a little while where we as kids could earn some pocket-change around the house. Say for example: Clean the kitchen = 1dollar. Do the dishes = 0.5 dollars. I never got any weekly allowance. And then when we got a little older, and a little more suspect, we found out that if you cleaned the kitchen, the dishes were included, so we should have 1.5 dollars for cleaning the kitchen. Then my parents decided that the laborers were getting too expensive, so they took down the list, and got us to do the chores anyway xp

xD I vaguely remember a chore list from when I was really little. I don't remember what it paid for what but it was more than what you were getting. It was at least a full dollar for everything because my parents hated dealing with coins.
Buuut, when I got to..... Middle school I think? They stopped that system and just started giving us $20 a week so we could buy school lunches and supplies from the school store as needed.
I just skipped lunch and kept the money, which was cool with them too xp I only bought lunch when I was really really hungry.

You missed the part where I said it was money for food and I stopped eating to keep the money. It wasn't really money for nothing since, y'know, parents are obligated to feed their children.
Unless they suck as parents.

I also had to work for my allowance. I only got paid if I did the chores that were asked of me.

I just realized I need to finish two pieces of art I promised. Today is one of the recipients birthdays. How awesome would it be to deliver raffle art to someone on their birthday?
On the plus side it's a chibi and the lineart is MOSTLY done, so it won't take long to finish and color <3~
