Jericho had to restrain herself from hugging Elke. From telling her that everything was going to be okay. She doesn't need me fawning over her, she has enough to deal with, without me. "It's not your fault, Elke.." She said shakily, running a shaking hand through her long blonde hair. "It's okay.. It's going to be fine. Remember?"

Elke nervously laughed, had Jericho really believed she was okay before? "That's what she says, but then she goes and tells me it is my fault. The b***h." Oh, don't bring me into this. She lifted her head from her hands, pointing a finger at her. "This city. It's hell. What the hell is wrong with this place?" She frowned, casting a gaze at the lake. "I hate that lake. That lake thinks it's so cool. But it is. It's tougher than me, didja know? One jump and I'd be a dead floater. Course, she likes the idea of that." Elke shook her head, hastily. She clucked her tongue on the roof of her mouth, wondering if she'd overdone it. You want a replay?

Jericho cocked her head slightly, who was she talking about? "I don't know what's wrong with this place, Elke. I don't know myself." She looked out at the lake, picturing her hide-away beneath the water. Elke looked like she could use some time away from the madness of the city. "If you ever want to get away.. from everything. You could." She said, watching the slight waves of the lake.

Look at her. You little kook. You scared her, I bet. "Oh I did. It was short-lived. Prolly, because I did it all wrong. All wrong. Silly punk. I'm starting to sound like her. Damnit. Damnit." Elke huffed with frustration, her hand brushing violet hairs out of her eyes. She couldn't leave. This was her place and she loved the excitement and hated the chaos. She breathed out slowly, trying to calm herself down as she became more angry. "I'm just gonna. I'm just gonna. Kill myself slowly. Yes." She gazed out at the lake, watching it as it mocked her. "Won't let the girl have her wish."

"It isn't anywhere.. away from.. here. It's just.. somewhere that no one would look." Jericho said carefully, selecting her words. She looked again at the lake, and took a few steps towards it, her knees protesting movement. Watching the water steadily, she continued, "I could take you there.. it isn't far.." Jericho turned around, looking into Elke's eyes for the very first time that night. "You can't kill yourself, Elke.." She said, her expression suddenly stony.

"You misunderstood me, darling. I can always feel my impending doom. It's there, haunting me. I'm destroying myself every moment. I'm no good. I'm a dolt. Idiot. Bigot. Pathetic." Elke hissed, standing up from her seat, diverting her look while she weighed things out. You're a failure, munchkin. Can't stand you. "If I wasn't myself, I'd kill her. Yes. I'd make her eat the cement curb and let her teeth fall out before I finished her off. If I wasn't myself, I would. I'll get her, you hear?" She glanced over at Jericho, her eyes shaking with intense frustration. They wavered, slowing into a dull green color. She lipped her lips, embarassed how open she was tonight. "Now, now. What is this place you speak of?"

At Elke's question, Jericho turned back to the lake, and then pointed, down below the surface of the mirror-like water. "There.." She said, her eyes finding the familiar break in stone, where her precious hidey-hole was located. "There's a cavern.. in the lake. I'm the only one that knows about it.. well, obviously you know, so I'm not.. But.." She stopped for a second, smiling to herself. Oh you'd love having her in your precious hidey-hole, wouldn't you? Just you and her.. The demon looked at Elke, "The break in the lake-wall goes up, and then it's like a little room, I guess.. with air and stuff.. I have a big bed in there, a few posters, CD's, and a stereo. You could stay there as long as you want.." Forever, even.. with me. Jericho's thoughts strayed again, but this time a smile graced her lips.

Elke lingered over, searching over her shoulder for what she speak of. Well, I see a huge problem in this, do you? She shook her head lightly, a smile on her face. "Man oh man. I'm going to have to say that I'm afraid of water. Masses of water." She stifled a laugh, her mind still on the girl she'd kill if she could. Afraid of water? Pathetic. PATHETIC. I don't think I could be seen killing you. She waved a hand through her hair, a cheap grin she had all to offer. Gonna get you Elke. Gonna getcha. Maybe infront of the one last friend you got, huh? How about that? How about I take you right now? She stepped back, her eyes scanning the water as she cursed under her breath.

Jericho smiled, she had been expecting this, especially because she had mentioned it earlier. "There's another way in.. A staircase." She said lightly, she bit down on her second tongue piercing, behind her first. "It's easier to swim, but if you wouldn't want to.. then the stairs would be fitting." She looked at Elke, traces hope bleeding through her bright green eyes.

They are." Elke nodded, trying to convince herself. Wait, doesn't an underwater lair sound iffy? Whatever, like I care. She licked her lips while she looked up at Jericho, Elke's green eyes solemn that almost seemed the opposite of hers.

"I mean.. you don't have to, if you don't.. want to." Jericho said quietly, looking over Elke's shoulder, rather than into her eyes. "It's good though.. because no daylight gets in there.. so.. you'd be okay, you know..?" She said, rambling slightly. "I'm getting electricity down there, I just have to wire it through, then I could.. put lights in there, and a fridge or something.." The demon stopped talking momentarily, and then looked over towards a particularly dense clump of trees. "The stair case is behind there, under a door.. that sort of looks like a trap door."

What the hell? Never seen her like this. Elke stared at her for a moment, wondering why she wasn't her brave confident self. Jericho rambling? She thought she'd never see such a thing. "No, no. It's fine. I was just trying to slay the big stupid dragon in me head, but let's say the damsel didn't have a good ending." You think anyone is going to understand what you're talking about? Everyone who knows your secrets is dead, 'sides the Alucard kid. "Bloody hell. You're right." She mumbled under her breath. The notion bothered her greatly.

"Mmm.. Dragon in your head." Jericho said, smiling lightly. "Okay. There's only one bed down there, but I can sleep.. on the floor tonight, or something.. it's fine.." She nooded to herself, before looking at Elke. "Come on then.. I'll show you one of my favourite places in the world.." She turned right, towards the thick brush, and then walked into it, rather gracefully, considering. She walked on for a couple minutes, making sure that Elke was still behind her, and to make sure that she hadn't tripped or anything. After a few moments, there was a slight clearing, and Jericho bent down to pick up what looked like a tree limb. It came up, revealing a dark square hole in the ground, stairs leading down into the dark. "After you.." She said, hoping that the dark wouldn't bother her. The lake was somewhat illuminated by the moon, which reflected into the cavern, dancing on the surface of the water.

"I won't sleep tonight." Elke mumbled as she followed, stepping daintly while she made sure not to make a complete fool of herself. When you do sleep, I'll take over and kill her. And for drama, I'll let you take over right exactly after the deed is done. How about that? She bit her lip, the kid was wearing thin on her patience. She felt like she might just snap anytime. She knew she was a danger to herself, but to others? "Nice nice." Elke's green eyes wandered about the little lair, grinning weakly. "You be Batman and I'll be the Riddler." She smiled more, trying to lift her own mood. //I must go too.//

Alucard watched them go down the hidden staircase and smirked, "Those two are so interesting." he said lightly and continued to read his book.
