"Ah." Jericho said, locking her legs, pulling her gaze into focus. The Danny that kissed her? She remembered, looking up into the night sky, instead of at Elke. The demon didn't personally find it a problem, the death of Danny, but it clearly bothered Elke. "I'm.. sorry." She said quietly, her russian accent sounding softer than before. Jericho looked over at the spot next to Elke, but stayed where she was standing, hoping that she wouldn't fall and make an a** of herself infront of Elke.

The b*****d. How could he die on you? I'll make him pay. Elke glanced at Jericho. Jericho didn't know Danny, she shouldn't had brought it up. No, she shouldn't have. She'd only ruin everyone's fun. She leaned her chin on one hand, biting the thumb's knuckle on the rest. She let go for a moment to speak. "He was always there for me. I'm not sure what I'll do without him. I guess I'll.." She paused in midsentence thinking back to what she was like before Danny. Her voice was soft and calm, oddly and it worried her. "I'll be good, yes." She nodded weakly, a small grin planted on her face.

Jericho looked at Elke, not convinced. She felt awkward, standing there, after a night of parties, drugs, and drinking. Just shut up, this is her problem, and you can't bring him back. Would you? Even if you could? She stood there, looking at the bench, her head slightly turned to the lake, in silence.

No, no. This isn't his fault. It's yours. You weren't there for him. How could you have missed that one time, dear? Were you just too busy to help your friend? You were too late, girl. Face it, your fault. Elke froze for a moment before jumping out of her seat. She wouldn't stay mourning, it wasn't good for the public. She'd be cheery, yes. "But, what's with you, dearie? Have a rough night? Party a bit, eh?" Her voice sounded of joy, and her eyes gleamed as she urged a slight chuckle. Yes, yes. She could be happy.

Jericho shrugged, before smirking slightly, as she remembered events from last night. "You could say that." She said sleekly. "I don't know if coming down is worth it, though.." The demon said, smiling now, in spite herself. "But anyway, enough about me and my bad habits.." She said, looking up at a tree near them, wondering what had caused the very slight stir within the branches.

Elke's eyes followed where Jericho looked, but soon snapped back to the girl out of boredom. She nodded jerkily to what she had said, licking her lips before replying. "Ah. Yes. Course." She mumbled, trying to do her best at being as normal as Elke could be. Her eyes wheeled about the park, thinking of how crazy this city really was. "Quite a city, must say. If I told anyone the things I'd seen, they'd lock me up for sure. Yes." She chuckled softly, making sure not to overdo it. I can't believe you're acting happy for the sake of others. Go to your little piece of home and cry yer heart out like everyone else.

"Undoubtably so." Jericho remarked, knowing how true Elke's statement was. But then, it would depend on who you told. "Are you okay, Elke?" She asked, her eyes slightly glazed, but concerned. You shouldn't've said that, you a**.. You should have dropped it, she clearly wanted nothing more of the previous conversation.. She berated herself, biting her tongue-ring self-consciously.

"I'm a mangled wreck." Her voice rose with excitement, taking another nervous chuckle. Man, you are. That's hilarious. Her right hand, slid onto her hip, pushing in on it as she straightened herself. "But I was like that when I got here, right? No. Yes? No!" Elke's head rolled back as she let off a loud laugh. Damn kid. I don't want nothing to do with you. Just damn.

Jericho looked at Elke for several seconds, her mind raging with different things to say. "Can I do anything to help?" She asked, her eyes betraying her worry. She clamped down on her tongue ring again, and cracked the knuckles on her right hand, with her right thumb. "Really, anything?"

I would have cleaned this mess decades ago if I could. You think I like this? Gah, you're so stupid. Let me kill you. Please. Elke smiled, her teeth inching out from the candy apple red lips of hers. At the moment, she found everything amusing. She couldn't help, but laugh. "You're doing fine, girl. You should be employee of the month. I'll take it up with the manager, eh?" She paused, watching as Jericho cracked her knuckles. Her eyebrows raised together, twice as she continued. "Well, I wish I could give up my pockets. The stuff in here racks my mind. But I can't rid of it. Danny would kill me." Elke laughed again, her hands self-consciously digging into the pockets as she counted the items.

"Danny can't kill you." Jericho said quietly, not meeting Elke's eyes. I wouldn't let him.. "I understand." She said, a little louder than her previous sentence had been. She looks at me with.. what is that look? Resentment, sadness, loathing? All of them, or none at all? Jericho swayed slightly, but rectified herself almost immediately, still averting Elke's gaze.

"He sure has gotten close to it.... Twice." Elke's shoulders heaved with laughter, stifling the sound. He wouldn't leave me, she thought. Her tongue poked out of the side of her mouth as she bit down on it lightly. She was bonkers, wasn't she? Still, her eyes lowered while she became occupied with taking out things from her pockets. Her hand fingered a phone and she took it out, grinning ear to ear. "Hah. This thing. A dead man's cellphone. Nice. I wonder if he has any minutes left." Elke giggled, the whole silliness was a charade that she couldn't stop.

"You don't say.." Jericho said, her expression suddenly darkened, and distant. Her eyes turned to a darker shade of green, almost black. She eyed the cellphone, before looking at Elke with a mildly curious expression. Is this the Elke that I knew? Or did I just want her to be someone else? The demon closed her eyes for several seconds, dismissing her thoughts, before looking once again at the bench Elke sat on.

"Man, why'd he have to die too? Why'd I have to find him? I should have, no. I should have left it with his grave, yes?" Elke's voice shook, as though suddenly she became aware of the death around her. She bit her lip, her eyes gleaming while her fingers popped up to wipe away any tears forming. "Oh my god. They're dead." The thought made her sick as she crumpled into the bench seat once again. She glared at the phone for a minute, pocketing it hastily. "Not my fault. Not my fault." She mumbled, her hands covering her eyes.
