He was pretty much done with this Jutsu... But Shinratsu wanted to practice it a few more times, just to be sure. True, there had been a few inspiring results...but there had been much disappointment too. He would not want to enter combat with a wayward technique...because he would probably not use it just in this state alone but in some sort of combination. And that would be disastrous, as well as suggesting outright failure. Now that he thought about it... Using that kunai with the Shunshin... Wouldn't that be considered a combination type technique as well?

Hn. Now that he thought about it, it was a pretty interesting thought to consider. He wasn't that physically constitute nor as impressive in strength...but what if he makes up for the lack of strength by speed? Small injuries add up, after all. He noted, remembering the nature of his family's Taijutsu style. Shinratsu held out his kunai before him, concentrating on the chakra molding process now. Fine. He'll practice the Shunshin in a combination form for the remainder of what chakra he had left.

Ryoko's deflections were swift and fluent, showing that much progress was being made in the development of this style. Amaya was also able to grasp the concept on a bit of a higher level as with each of the more opportune deflections, Ryoko was able to place in a subtle strike against her. The points of attack didn't ache from the contact, but the point had gotten across.

Shinratsu huffed, though with tired eyes, his gaze never left...the kunai pierced through the earth. He had missed... Just barely, but he had missed. Something was still amiss with his Shunshin. But what was he forgetting? He was sure he had followed carefully all of the processes. What was it now! His bloodlimit, perhaps, interfering again? This was really trying on patience. Sighing, Shinratsu dropped to a seat on the earth, deep in thought.

Sitting here sulking won't get him anywhere. Sighing, Shinratsu pushed himself up. He was better off experiencing failing Shunshin attempts rather than to dawdle and do nothing, grumbling about why it wasn't working. It would be a bit selfish of him... To expect to master a technique so quickly. Determination was one thing but he couldn't be too inconsiderate of his own body's capabilities either. Strength isn't earned in one foul swoop, but gradually, through hard work.

Keep running... Concentrating on the raw energies within his body, willing the raw chakra to mold...Shinratsu harnessed what he could... Ah, that was it. He had been too careless of his reserves...and was depleting it. But there was still, so much more to do...he didn't want to give up and 'take a break now'. He knew, no...he was certain. With every step, he was closer to finishing this Jutsu! The expression in his eyes was steely.

He had no intention to give up. Just a little more... He could do it, can't he...? It was getting harder to concentrate on molding, the further his reserves depleted. So this is what chakra fatigue is like... It...hurts... Well, sure he could feel pain if it came from the outside...but he could feel the pain from breathing, as if his organs were protesting the strain... Ugh. Could his tenketsu not do it? Produce more chakra, just enough...to finish this...?

If he loses consciousness in a place like this... No one would know. No one would find him. And the scorpions would kill him, while he was out cold. A cold smile. So. A challenge huh? He kind of liked that...well, not the gruesome end of the stakes. But he did enjoy the prospects that there was more at stake here than just learning a new technique for his arsenal... That's right. It should always be like this. With every technique, overcoming adversities...to become stronger...

Like fostering or nurturing a plant... Always, something is sacrificed to gain something else. That is the law of the universe... 'Equivalent Exchange.' If he should wish to advance, he must always be prepared...to bet on his life...an eternal gamble. That was what being a shinobi was. If he was not prepared to gamble everything he has, everything that constitutes to who he was...then he was not fit to be a shinobi. A kunai flicked through the air. What...does he seek? Shinratsu's image flickered, reappearing before where the kunai was heading. What he sought... He pulled out a second kunai and hurled it.

With a sharp clang, the first was sent flying through the air, and both landed, embedded into the earth. Justice. He still sought that little bit of justice. There was something he seeks...that he cannot allow himself to fall short of now. Not when he had come so far. The boy thought, as he picked up both kunais. One in each hand, gripped tightly by the handles. Give it my all. He no longer cared of the energy left in his body...there was something transcendent he was reaching for.

The chakra formed, painfully. Shinratsu could almost hear the moisture in the air crackling, freezing solid... So it comes down to this, huh... Then all the more he must use his chakra. With his Fuuton chakra expended, his bloodlimit should be taking its toll about now... So he must use as much of that Hyouton chakra as possible. It's possible. He told himself. It was still possible, this was still chakra after all... He may not know how to separate it yet, but chakra was chakra...it could still fuel the Shunshin...

Pain coursed throughout his body, but he ignored it. Gripping the first kunai, he hurled it through the air. The air behind him sparkling - but it was from the freezing water particles - he raced after the weapon. Catch it... And snatched it he did from the air...only to realize he was falling. Cripes! Course, the plateau had some areas of different elevation. One more time! He quickly gathered the chakra necessary - there was no need for molding this chakra. But instead of letting the chakra envelop his whole body, as with this it would be certainly unwise, he concentrate it to the space before him. It should have the same effect! Instead of bending the space around him...to bend direction the space before him.

With a soft tap, he reached the ground safely. Smiling, Shinratsu cast his glance in the direction of the village. He was done for tonight, wasn't he? Good. About time too. He should go and get some rest now...knowing Gig, there would probably be another mission tomorrow. But now he has a little extra something in his arsenal... A small smile crossed his lips. That was always a good thing. Besides! He has a feeling it would become useful in close combat.

Amaya was also able to grasp the concept on a bit of a higher level as with each of the more opportune deflections, Ryoko was able to place in a subtle strike against her. The points of attack didn't ache from the contact, but the point had gotten across. One did not have to feel entirly defenseive, left with no other options. THe properly timed and executed deflection could leave your opponent more open to attack then you could have gotten them to be otherwise.

With a small hidden smirk, Amaya gave a slight nod to Ryoko, showing her that she indeed felt fine. But it was also to show that she understood what was happening here. "Again..." she called out. Amaya then moved in to produce another set of body strikes, focusing on cutting out anything flashy and stickign to solid punches and kicks.

Ryoko had it… she had the movements and it was only a matter of finishing it off. The kicks were of no consequence. This move wasn’t designed for that and thus, Ryoko ignored them. She raised her leg to avoid one of the kicks and stepped to the side to avoid another but just as the punch came through, it was golden. Ryoko saw the opportunity and jumped on it.

Raising her right hand, she quickly pushed the punch just to the outside of her body without interrupting Amaya’s flow. She would slide a foot back to allow Amaya a few more inches of motion as she would continue to come in since her punch wasn’t stopped but deflected and she was still moving under her own force. Ryoko would then raise her left hand and place it over the wrist of Amaya’s outstretched hand however not with her palm. She would place the back of her hand over Amaya’s wrist as a check, not to grab. This, however, would leave her right hand free and clear for something more. Lowering her right hand, she would convert it from an open hand to a fist. At the same time, her legs would tense and she would push off the back leg with a good deal of force. This movement was accompanied by a backward’s swing of her closed right fist into Amaya’s ribs and past them then up. Ryoko’s body would stop moving just past Amaya’s but still touching it. Her left hand still acted as a check on Amaya’s arm just in case she did something.

The next move was quick and probably to fast to be seen. Her right first converted to a chop. Her body would shift in a single motion with her hand coming down to Amaya’s spinal cord and connecting right on the back of her spine just before her skull.

Without waiting for the results, Ryoko would slip away and go into a ready stance to observe the results.

Shuiro was happy to be wandering free, away from the crazy cat. Though, she was proud to have another jutsu in her arsenal. Thing was, she was a bit lopsided with her jutsu... she was mainly focused on her taijutsu, which was fine and all, but her ninjutsu was slim and genjutsu just plain weak. She didn't even know how to defend against genjutsu... she just hoped she could knock the day lights out of her opponent before they could stick her in an illusion...

Roy was laying along the ground, listening to his N-pod. Etna wasn't around, off doing whatever and Roy didn't care. He laid upon a high ridge that overlooked the flat surface of the platue. He liked high places like this. Reminded him of how short he was but also of how little that mattered. He smiled and ignored the world.

Letting her pulse roam, she waled across the area. Her static, since it was slightly powered up to notify her of obstacles further ahead, or even below her, would most likely disturb electronic objects like radios, nin-pods, sterios, and other such things. It didn't take her too long to 'see' someone she figured she would know and headed in that general direction, still wondering of how she was going to balance herself out.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 05, 2009 12:38 pm

He knew that static. It wasn't a natural static as it was resembling of a heartbeat. He opened one eye and payed closer attention then growled. Looking over the rock, he soon saw the object that had caused it and flung a rock right at her head.

"Dammit! I thought It old you not to walk around with your damn electro dome up so friggin high! s**t... you better not have broken this one like you did the last one!"

Hearing his voice, she instantly lowered her pulse... kind of. It took more control and moderation when her heartbeat wasn't in tune with what she was releasing. "Sorry... I like 'seeing' ahead of me by more than just a few feet you know... " The rock hit her on the side of the head and bounced off with a loud thunk. Reaching up to rub it, as she was useless at dodging ranged attacks, she gave him an apologetic look. "You know I didn't mean to do that..."
