((Actually the blessing of a god or goddess must be given, or can be used deus ex machina in the face of otherwise imminent death to save a character. Ex. You dive into a volcano to stop a bomb blowing up the world, everybody thinks you're dead, you come out burnt slightly, but alive and well. The blessing of ares is arguably the most powerful blessing as it is, so being able to call up the strength of 10 men, the reflexes of a jungle cat with a can of monster in him, and
invincibility more or less, would be extremely unfair. biggrin ))
Kevin yawned and watched the two fight, unimpressed by what was currently going on. He sheathed his sword and approached one of the dummies. He put his sword on a bench nearby and walked back over to the dummy. He jumped up and down a few times to loosen up, before delivering a 3 punch combination to the dummy, before delivering a snap kick to the side of it's head that broke the wooden stand it was on before turning slightly and with the same leg he had just kicked with, drilling the falling dummy a few feet backward with the flat of his foot, where it hit the wall and fell to the ground.

(I would be perfectly fine with it, simply because I intend to lose anyway. So long as Luke doesn't die, I would be ok with Ares' blessing being used. Besides, I think Ares wouldn't mind giving it, since Luke pretty much just insulted him.)
"Oh, a daughter of Ares with sense? Even better," Luke thought. He walked away from October and over to Carmelia.
"Hello," he said, holding out his hand in his normal upbeat and welcoming mood. "Luke Baker. I'm a son of Dionysus. Sorry about getting mad at your siblings, but from what I saw you doing, I'm sure you understand why I was upset at their insulting of my particular strategy."

Camelia smiled."Yeah,I feel you. I like Dionysus much better than my own father," she said. She finally connected with someone,someone she actually liked. "I don't have cestuses,but I learned how to defend myself before camp,"she said,rubbing her arms where the deep cuts remained. She shook Luke's hand,her smile lighting up the day.

"Really?" Luke said, "That's good to hear. I'm gonna have to rest a bit before I go fight your sister anyway, so you wanna go somewhere else? I think we could become..." His mind drifted away to his tendencies to date a girl a week, but he shook it out of his head for now. "Good friends," he completed.

Caren shrugged,"I've been everywhere. Where would you like to go?" She walked over to the dummy and pulled free her knives. They still glinted strangely gold,silver,and bronze,but she didn't notice that she held an extra purple on. She stuck them in her pack and slung it over her back. Her eyes twinkled and danced with light. She heard him say that last bit and said,"Ditto. You better rest or October will tear you to pieces." She took her pack off her shoulder and said,"Do you have a phone? I have 2." She took out her Iphone and Blackberry.After her mother did,she had been left a great deal of money,a great deal indeed. The rest of her mother's staggering 23 billion went to her twin,Caren. Caren was always a girl for good,and donated 1.4 billion of it to charity.

"Yeah, I managed to pick mine up on the run from the my demonic girlfriend," Luke affirmed, picking a cell phone out of his backpack. It was nothing fancy, simply being a Razor. "There's a courtyard with a garden in the camp. I think that would be-" He cut himself off before he said "romantic". "Fun," he managed to say at last, mentally slapping himself.
Now that he was in his right mind again, he realized that trying to go on a date with October's half-sister before their fight was likely equivalent to a death sentence for him, when added to everything he had said to her.

Caren smiled and began to feel strange. She seemed to sense his feeling. he was hiding something,but what she didn't know. She sighed and said,"Cool.Let's go." Carmelia threw her Iphone into her pack and slipped her Blackberry into her back pocket. Suddenly,she realized that her Ipod was missing. She ran over to the stands and saw it on the ground. She tossed it unceremoniously into her pack. She walked back to Luke and together they walked to the courtyard.

Kevin yawned and took out a few more dummies with strikes to vital areas, and precise blows to the head, sides, and ribs. He then took out his sword and chopped apart a few more casually, not putting any effort into it, before leaving the arena and heading out of the arena and off to the cabins.

This guy thought he could beat her! She watched him, waiting with her jaw set and clamped shut. When he walked off to the other girl, giving up on her now, she growled. No one did that to her.
She walked over to Luke, but he was already leaving. Her anger grew now, and her fists were shaking. Next to her stood an innocent dummy, so she swung her foot around and knocked off its head, sending it rolling away in the arena. She knew better then to follow him though. She decided to let him live for a few more hours before she tracked him down and tore him to pieces.
Her anger still at a high rate, and pulled out her blades continuously cut up dummies, her acts merciless and relentless. She went on until there were no more dummies for her to break. She had barely broken a sweat doing so, and didn't feel very tired. She sheathed her scorpion blades and spat into the dirt.
"Im going to get you Luke," She growled before exciting the arena, her stomping echoing through the whole place.

Luke almost passed October on the way in, and put his hand in front of her.
"Hang on," he told her sternly, "I'm ready for the fight when you are. First to surrender loses, but no killing. Deal?"

Carmelia ran up the step,5 at a time. She got to the middle row and sat down. If Luke was going to fight,she wanted to bed close,but if he got hurt,she wanted to be as far away as possible. This was a compromise. She saw Luke come in and talk to October. She looked nervous,unsheathing her knives,ready to fight if he got hurt.

"No killing? Fine. First to surrender it is," she smirked at him, before turning and walking to the center of the arena. This was going to be good.
She turned on her heel when she reached the center, and spun up dust as she turned to face him. Her smirk had turned into a wicked grin, her eyes bright with excitement. She loved a good fight. Her eyes flashed to a bloody red for a single moment, then back. She tied her hair back sloppily. Looks never mattered in the middle of a battle. She couldn't comprehend why the Aphrodite cabin worried about it, when they should be worrying about fighting.
"Come on Luke. I hope your ready," She warned, her tone dangerous and excited at the same time. Adrenaline pumping through her veins, she drew her scorpion blades and spun the hilts in her palms for a second, then gripped them tight.

Almost in response to her eyes flashing red, Luke's own burned purple for half a second. He finished fastening his cestus as he walked to a point about 25 feet away from October.
"Gage was an interesting fight," he said casually, "So I wonder how a daughter of Mars will fare?" He had to run through a strategy as he went along this time. His own mistakes had cost him his victory last time. He charged, but prepared to stop short and attempt to grab the blade if October swung at him. He knew from his fight with Gage that this was a risky tactic, but she didn't have a shield like Gage did.

Carmelia sat quietly in the stands. She didn't even realize she couldn't be seen. She sat,anger pulsing through her veins,with knives ready,to kill,if they hurt him.
