[Dawn : Isle of Tortuga : Port -> The Challenger]
Dawn glared at James as he patted her head. She was giving off a small growl as well.
"I am so going to hurt you..." she mumbled as she moved from behind Kyle, "If that happens, remind me to throw you overboard first. I'll watch as the fish nibble on your limbs."
She let out a loud sigh as she walked towards the ship. All she wanted was to get this over with as quickly as possible. So she could leave this fishy place behind.

Jacob ll Tortuga ll The Challenger
Jacob rolled forward, his feet easily escaping the dry sand. Shoes and socks in hard, he skipped past Kyle, Joe, and Sayrike onto their new boat. He threw his lot onto the ground before getting a feel for the grip of the wood. He rolled about, walk on his hands, ran laps around the boat; he pretty much wasted his time expending energy, all the while whistling a sea shanty. He loved those. Especially the ones fairly reminiscent of Ireland.

[Tortuga ~ The Challenger]
Noelle skipped up her earthen ramp and jumped onto the ship's deck. Ship voyage, take two--only this one wasn't the cyborg's air ship equipped with solar sails. It was a good, old fashioned ship with white sails and the like. With the group being Jack's only crew, things were bound to get interesting. The agromancer was vaguely familiar with how the rigging worked, it wasn't that hard to figure out, but any and all terminology would be lost on her.
"Now up those ratlines, the lot of you. Those sails are no good to us tied down." Jack commanded, boarding the ship and heading straight for the helm.

[[Louis : ??? -> Tortuga : Port]]
A dark portal opened up over the wooden plank docks. The surface of its black, inky, rift sagged downward, stretching out a bit like a bloated balloon or full burlap sack. When it stretched to its limits, it tore. Out of it fell a bloody mass, hitting the boards in a clatter and squelch of soaked material. If one looked closely enough, they would recognize it as Louis.
His form from head to toe was ripped to shreds by countless cuts, some just shallow cuts, others, not as forgiving, deeply embedded in the tissue. His body shivered, showing signs of life to those who may spot him. His breathing was labored, his one open eye blurry and glazed over from exhaustion. If anyone believed him dead by him appearance alone they wouldn't be blamed. With his energy drained to near their complete limits and body slowly giving in to its mortality, death was a reality not far off. In his hand, he still gripped tightly to his rapier, refusing to let go of it even for a second. He could feel his consciousness slipping, but he wouldn't give in, he couldn't give in. He still had something he had to live for, even if that life was a lie.

Sayrike::Tortuga:The Challenger At James' urging, Sayrike hiked up the ramp of earth and sand and onto the ship. She grinned as she inhaled deeply. Oh yes, that was the scent. How could she describe it? The tang of the sea salt, the zing of brine, the damp wood, even the bit of rot that was settling into the nooks and crannies--mixed together it made her nose tingle, and Sayrike couldn't help but picture the relaxing, sunny days of summer and the exhilarating and empowering feel of riding the ship at the bow. She really loved sailing. Alas, if only she could have taken classes...but the West coast didn't really go out of its way to encourage sailing, or at least not like the (snobby) East coast. ( Stupid lucky sister who got to take lessons at Boston...) As Jack began to bark out commands, Sayrike was glad of two things: 1) Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Thanks to her many hours of gameplay, she had a good feel for how one was supposed work a sail in conjunction with the wind. She had even put her theoretical knowledge of tacking to use in that game (which then became practical knowledge of sorts). She wasn't going to need it with Jack around, but the information still wasn't going to hurt. 2) Her boredom and the CAT6 exams. Way back in sophomore year of high school she had finished the exam early, and so to pass the time she took the scratch piece of paper and traced the detailed drawing at the end of a reading passage. It was an illustration of a full-rigged ship, complete with labels. She still had the tracing. Not that she could recall everything offhand. But at least the terms wouldn't be totally alien to her. She was just about to get ready to climb up the ratlines when she felt an odd pull in the air coming from the docks. Sayrike rushed over to the edge of the ship to see a bloody mass of a person fall out of a portal and onto the wood. She gasped, "Oh, my goodness!" and jumped back onto the earthen ramp, pulling out a potion from her pocket as she ran. She popped out the cork and knelt down beside the mangled body, pressing the bottle to Louis' lips. "Here, drink this. Just take a sip, at least. Don't make me pour it all over you."

[Tortuga ~ The Challenger]
Noelle was beginning to stick her feet through the holes in the ratlines when she heard Sayrike's exclamation. She looked to the girl as she ran back down the ramp. The blonde was slightly confused as to what she was doing, but understood when she spotted Louis.
Aw, crap.
The agromancer followed Sayrike's lead and ran for the ramp. She, more or less, slid down it and ran for the wooden dock. When she came up behind Syrike, trying to get Louis to drink a potion, she stopped and asessed the damage. Oooooouch, she groaned internally, taking a few steps back as she paled and tried to look away. That was a lot of blood. The sight of it didn't make Noelle feel too hot, herself. Luckily there wasn't really much need for assistance right then and there, because Noelle was busy puking in her mind.
Hehe . . . mind puke. 'Why is there always a need for you to do and say unecessary things during serious situations?'

Jacob ll Tortuga The Challenger
Jacob stopped his frolicking as Sayrike came on board. It had been the first time he had seen her in her new clothes and she looked rather rad. She had a wicked mask on that reminded him of Zorro, a tank top, and poufy pants. "A lady after my own heart...Doesn't she look ravishing."
The clang of weight on wood. She she turned in ran. "Oh s---..." Jacob sprinted to the edge of the ship and vaulted it. He soared through the air, arms outstretched like wings. With a quick roll and a pop up, he was next to Louis, Sayrike, and Noelle. Never mind that his legs hurt from absorbing a 5 meter fall. He felt useless. He should've been fast enough to save Louis from fighting the avatar of Chaos alone. His mouth was parted. He stood there, a useless statue.

[Dawn : Isle of Tortuga : The Challenger]
Dawn had barely got onto the ship when she heard a crash on wood nearby. Her eyes widened at the sight of someone among the rubble. She ran down, following Noelle and Sayrike down the ramp. Just before she got to the body she stopped a few feet away. Tears started to fill the corners of her eyes as she could barely recognize the mangled body.
"Louis..." she whispered as she got closer.
She felt her body shaking a little as she stepped up closer, just behind Jacob. Dawn subconsciously put a hand against the younger boy's back. She was standing just behind Jacob, just enough where she hid part of the scene before her with his shoulder. Though a good portion of it was hidden by tears that were building in her eyes.

[[Louis : Tortuga : Port]]
Louis looked up at the girl in the mask holding the potion to his lips. He sipped at it sparingly. Her face was blurred, her shapes disfigured as every moment that passed his eyes drew further misaligned. He could feel the subtle sensation as some of his serious wounds closed, leaving behind the blood to tell the tail but most of the bleeding in general stopped. Louis glanced to the side, trying to single out the others but their faces were too smeared to put names to them. He let his eyes slip closed and whispered softly, only the closest of the few could hear, "Thank... you..."
With that, he passed out with the peace of mind he was in good hands.

Sayrike::Tortuga: biggrin ocks Sayrike sighed with relief as she watched many of Louis' wounds heal and heard the young one breathe a "Thank you." Several others had gathered around, looking on. Sayrike wasn't one to get flustered easily in emergency or dangerous situations (but, ironically, for mundane decisions she fought and questioned herself for hours), and when there was someone who needed help she immediately responded, nevermind the inconvenience it would be to herself. She wasn't squeamish about blood and injury, so she didn't mind this in the least. Instead, her thoughts were focused on Louis' recovery. He had consumed a lot of the potion, but not all of it. I'm afraid it's not potent enough for the total restoration of his HP. Wait, did I really just refer to his health as HP? Oh my gosh, I'm losing it and going native. Quelling this unsettling thought, Sayrike turned to the others and asked, "Before we take him to the ship, assuming that we are, I want to make sure he's fit enough to be moved. Can someone spare a little bit of healing magic to finish up anything the potion might have not caught?" She was slightly surprised that no one had made a move to begin some kind of regenerative process, especially considering how hard they had all taken Louis' sacrifice. Maybe they were just stunned at his sudden appearance. Hopefully the request for healing help would jar some of them into action. Sayrike closed her eyes (not that anyone could tell with the mask) and held her hands above Louis' unconscious body. A second later, a single large mirror materialized beneath Louis, providing something akin to a stretcher. It would make moving him about much easier, but she still didn't want to raise him up just yet in case the action would disturb his body and possibly reopen a wound that hadn't healed completely. Better wait to see if anyone could finish up the job. And, just to make sure that people wouldn't start dilly-dallying and moping, Sayrike added, "The sooner we heal him, the better. We should have some sort of water supply on the ship, yeah? Let's clean him up there with some of the fresh water. We can't afford to waste a lot of time in one place, especially if we have a lot of traveling to do. Louis will be fine, I'm sure of it."

[Tortuga ~ Docks]
"I'm on it." Noelle said shortly, happy to be able to turn away. It wasn't that she didn't care, she was just squeamish as all get out.
The agromancer ran back to solid ground and dug her heel at the dirt. She tosssed some seeds in the small hole before covering it and performing the same action she had earlier. Her Golden Pitcher plant was ready in no time, and from it she took several of the liquid filled cups. Now came the fun part for her--dealing with the blood. Noelle was almost challenging herself to do it. She had to get over being fastideous some time, and in situations like these, it was not good to be so. The girl went and knelt down next to Louis and Sayrike, eyebrows knit together against the want to pull away. Her throat clenched as she took the firs pitcher and began to pour it over any of the visible wounds on his arms. As the syrum made contact, the cuts and gashes seemed to sink away, as did some of the blood. The clear liquid was slightly sticky so much of it remained over the repaired wounds, making it a safe bet that they would be completely healed. After nearly all her pitchers had been emptied, Noelle was able to stop with two left in her hand.
"That should do it." The agromancer sighed, not realizing that she had been shaking slightly. "Let's get him up to the ship."

[Joe: IoT: Ship]
Joe, who had pulled himself out of the water after putting the fish back, stood by where Louis lay, face blank as his wind blew his hair dry so he wouldn't drip on people.
Wow...he survived? I'm...kinda surprised.
Once Sayrike and Noelle worked their healing wonders(be it item or magic), Joe walked onto the ship. Sayrike had Louis taken care of with a mirror, and he doubted he would've been needed. But damn, Louis was a toughie. At least, Joe now thought so.

[ Kyle ; Sora ; Kuja ; Zexion : Isle of Tortuga : Port ]
For the most part, Kyle had quietly followed along, watching Noelle and Jack bicker about methods of acquisition, overhearing Joe tease Dawn with a fish (which meant two things- he was feeling better, and she was afraid of fish... that wouldn't go over well). When Louis returned, Kyle's face had somewhat drained of color, his eyes darting around the area for any sign of Chaos, but sighed a relief when both Chaos was nowhere to be found and Louis was alive.
They've got him covered.
Still, though... he must have been lucky. There's no way he beat Chaos, so to manage to flee in that condition...
... very lucky.
Shaking his head somewhat, he silently boarded the ship, just after Joe, though he made no attempt to contact the bo-wielder. Zexion and Kuja made their way onto the boat as well, but seemed to head down into the lower quarters.
"Well, now the whole team's back together! Nothing to worry about!" Sora said, smiling toward the others, Jacob and Dawn specifically. "Hakuna Matata- a friend of mine from the Pride Lands told me all about it. It means no worries!"
With a pat on their shoulders, Sora bounded up the ramp to the ship, standing at the top and waiting for Sayrike and Noelle to bring up Louis.

Jacob ll Tortuga ll The Challenger
Jacob smiled again after Louis began to stir. Quickly, he stooped down to pick up the mirror and lugged the Ivalician up the dirt ramp; His feet dug into the dirt with each step. Jacob tried hard not to slip. "C'mon guys. You heard the man! Up t' arms! Let's get sailin'. Louis WILL be alright now. Now can someone tell me to put this over sized sack of potatoes so we can shove off?"

[Dawn : Port of Tortuga : The Challenger]
Dawn glanced at Sora as he spoke to her, a couple of tears that she was holding back escaped her eyes. She looked away before any more could fall and the Keyblader touched her shoulder. She closed her eyes and let out a soft sigh in attempt to calm herself. When she opened she watched as Jacob helped to carry Louis onto the ship.
With some distance between them, she soon started to follow the group onto the ship. Her arms wrapped around herself, as if she was giving herself a hug. Dawn sure felt like she needed one now. When she got on board, she didn't say anything to anyone and proceeded to go to the front of the ship where she sat down. Ready to take off whenever Jack set sail.
