Something seemed to have snapped within her as the fire neared the leafy Pokemon. The feeling of overwheling power drained from her figure and she felt like the same girl she had been before it began. Mitsu closed her eyes and waited for Felsic's torrent of fire to finish. Ivy was too proud to be withdrawn from a battle in such a manner. "I'm sorry, Ivy," she said looking down at the Ivysaur who only managed to give a weak "saur" as a reply.

The young trainer dashed toward her Pokemon, the burnt sand crunching underneath her sandals. Not caring whether Mike was there or not she placed her hands onto the Grass Pokemon and concentrated. Her body began to feel hot, hotter than the sun beating down onto her, or even the volcano in Lavaridge. "Fire," she muttered.

Her healing was not quite as effective as she would have hoped for the short amount of time, but it'd have to do. On lookers may have noticed something if Mike did not. "What do you say about going to the Pokemon Center? Ivy needs some rest, and I'm sure Felsic would like to get that poison out of his system, and maybe see Karri for a while," she suggested not meeting his eyes. Though she only did not for she felt fatigued from the short burst of energy she had given to Ivy.

Damn, that fire hurt Ivy thought as he could feel bits of his palm leaves turn to ash. Once Felsic was through he sighed, clearly out of the battle, heck he didn't even know how he managed to retain consciousness he thought, his eyes slowly closing. Then there was this lovely feeling, it was up lifting and pleasant, his body began to feel cooler. His leaves began to perk up again from thier burnt and wilted state. And as soon as it came it vanished. Now where did that feeling go? he wondered as his mind slipped into the dark abyss.

She stood up and recalled her Pokemon before tucking the Pokeball into her brown bag. Smiling weakly at Mike, she said, "Didn't epect anything less." A short chuckled followed, "I only wish I had had Nightmare with me."

Train smiled back--she had a tendancy to smile or laugh when others did, especially if she was in a good mood. She nodded at M.A. and trailed behind her as she got her Phanphy's Poke Ball, but paused good-naturedly when the girl grinned mischieviously, her curiousity sparked.

Train look around the Korean barbeque, liking all the decorations and designs that came with foreign resturants. She blinked a bit surprisedly at Sae's strong handshake, but smiled and -attempted- to return the handshake.
"I'm Train," The teenager replied with a small grin, adding a little, "Yeah, let's!" at the mention of food. Even if her appearance didn't show it at all, Train loved some good eatin'. She obviously didn't get the quip that went on between M.A. and Sae, not knowing much about the other girl's brother or of what he'd been doing.

Pikachu hopped off of Train's shoulder when they got to the table and perched himself at the edge of the table beside his trainer, not wanting to sit in the seat, because then he wouldn't be able to see anyone! Train glanced over at the Smeargle when it was mentioned, staring at the painting, at loss for words. And not in the good way.

A laugh escaped her lips as she saw the little fight go on between the two Pokemon, then turned to see Tora appear, still amazed at how big and powerful the Pokemon looked compared to how it had been only a short while ago.

Riza had to think for a moment in order to recall what that move was. "Ugh, I hate Double Team!" she grumbled, also unable to tell which one was the real Ralts. "Just try to hit one, Sneasel!" Sneasel nodded and decided to go after the Ralts directly in front of her. She reared back her fist and brought it forward, causing it to glow with that same icy hue as before. "Oh! That's Ice Punch! How did I not know that?!" Riza grumbled, slapping her forehead with her palm. It was pretty obvious what the attack had been now that she thought about it, but there was no sense in fretting about it now. Sneasel's icy fist passed through the Ralts lookalike and did nothing but cause it to flash and disappear. Growling Sneasel looked around, glaring at each Ralts as she tried to figure out the real from the fakes.

Riza had no clue how to bring out the real one either, and she looked at them all in turn, scratching her chin thoughtfully. Very suddenly a rock went flying through the air and smacked Sneasel on the back of the head. Sneasel spun around, slashing the air with her dangerously sharp claws but hit nothing. She did see, however, what appeared to be the real Ralts, hands up to her mouth and giggling uncontrollably like before. She pointed her hand at another nearby rock and used her Confusion to lift it up and hurl it at Sneasel. This time Sneasel saw it coming and jumped to the side. With an angry growl Sneasel dashed forward, once again preparing her Ice Punch.

During all this Riza had grabbed an empty Pokeball from one of the pockets of her backpack and was holding it at the ready. Sneasel had barely touched Ralts so far but she wasn't going to get caught unprepared this time. The Ralts took another step back as Sneasel raced towards her and with a slight flash she disappeared again, along with all of her Ralts copies. Sneasel let out an infuriated growl as she missed her attack again, but was quickly knocked to the ground as Ralts teleported onto her back and threw off her balance. Having downed her target Ralts cried out happily and began to bang on the back of Sneasel's head like it were some sort of makeshift drum, laughing the whole time.

(I'm back!)

Darkra was running toward the screams. Trees and wild Pokemon alike flew by him. He didn't care about anything but his Cyndaquil. He came to a sudden stop when he came to a clearing, in which were two supiscions men. They both had big brown jackets on, one of them had a red cap on, and the other had a blue headband.
"Have you seen a Cyndaquil come by here?" Dakra asked.
"And what if we have? What does it concern you." The one with a blue headband asked.
"Well, its mine."
The men looked at each other.
"Where's your proof?"The one with the red hat demanded, "If you don't have any, there is no way your get the lil guy."
"Give him back!" Dakra yelled.
"Well, that was a bit loud. We don't want anyone to come looking for us. Let's take this 'witness' out." With that they brought out their two Pokemon, Bulbasaur and Todidial.
'I hope Kurine comes soon.'
Out of nowhere, the pidegy with the eyepatch flew on to Dakra's shoulder.
"Hey there little guy!" Dakra said, surprised. 'Well,' He thought, 'At least I fould a Pokemon to battle with.'

Even Riza could not stop herself from laughing at the sight of Ralts clinging to Sneasel's back, wailing on the dark-type's head with her tiny little hands. Sneasel wasn't taking any real damage, except maybe to her pride, but it was annoying nevertheless. With a grunt Sneasel reached behind her and snatched the Ralts up by the red horn on the front of her head, and with all her might hurled the little psychic forward, watching with a satisfied grin as it landed with a thud some five feet in front of her. With a quick burst of speed, the Sneasel pulled off a vanishing act of her own, reappearing seconds later over the Ralts, pinning her to the ground with one arm while holding the other above the Ralts' head, her sharp claws poised and ready to strike.

The Ralts let out a little yelp and waved her hands around defensively, that was it, she was done! There was no way she could beat Sneasel, even with all her little tricks. When Sneasel let her up she raised her hands and shrugged, letting both Riza and Sneasel know that she had given up.

Sneasel looked over at Riza and pointed at Ralts, her tail and ears quivering excitedly. 'Do it, throw the Pokeball!' she seemed to be saying. "Okay, here goes nothing! Go, Pokeball!" Riza shouted, taking careful aim and throwing the red and white sphere at the little ralts. Her aim was true and the little psychic Pokemon was pulled inside, with the ball landing sharply on the ground and beginning to wiggle back and forth.

Crenu sat in place as he watched Kasiya get ready for the battle. Something about her rubbing her hands together made him think that she might forget this was suppose so be for fun, and that only made him grin. He intended to come at her with killing intent, so to speak, her pokemon looked like they could handle it. Crenu put his ehad down for a moment, peerign out of the orner of his eye to catch Kasiya covertly paying for her meal even though it was free. Crenu had to admit that it was admerable, but he didn't have the same sence of obligation to pay that she did. Instead he called back his pokemon and remained seated as he took a deep calming breath. He could feel his blood start race, the hairs on the back ofhis neck stood and there an unbearable sense of anticipation in the air aroudn him. This was the calm before the battle that he had read about in old stories, he could now picture a squadren of soldiers lined up behind their trenches as they waited for the envaders to storm their territory. Magnificent. This was the sensation Crenu lived for, this was why he battled in the first place. There was a familiar sense of defeat and humility hanging aroudn him, a feeling that only the arrogant or the truely brave go into battle without. He watched as Kasiya ran outside followed by her pokemon and turned to the old man. "Hey, got a pair of scissors?"

"Hmm? Sure. What do you need 'em for?" The old man reached beneath the counter and pulled out a large pair of scissors that were primaraly used for vasiouse misc. uses that didn't involve food in the slightest. He put them on the table and returned to getting the dishes, curious as to what the blond trainer wanted them for.

"This heat's unbearable." Said Crenu as he took the scossors and measured down his leg with his eyes. A few inches below his knees he made a small cut on each pant leg to mark the cutting line and within moments he had newly improvised shorts. It was a shame to ruin good pants like that, but this was no climate for long black pants and he didn't pack any shorts. With a cooling breeze brushign up against his legs like a Meowth, Crenu made his way outsied to find Kasiya and get the battle underway. "This could be...fun."

"K-Karri?" said Mike with a slight stammer. "Oh, yeah. Totally!" The last thing he wanted was the mind reader digging around in his head, especially now that he wasn't feeling well and his mind was thinking up whatever it wanted. Mitsu could just be sending her out to read my mind, to find something to use against me! She's mad that I didn't return her feelings, and that I just won! He took in a deep breath and turned around, recalling Felsic. Get ahold of yourself Mike. Mitsu isn't some evil saboteur. She's your friend. Stop being crazy. His head throbbed. Boy did that hurt. After regaining his composure he turned around, congratulating Mitsu on a battle well done...sort of. "I'm sure if you had Nightmare it would have been very different. Where is that little fishie anyway?" Come to think of it, the last time he saw that Gyarados it was when Mitsu went to join the Rockets to get her back at the Cherry blossom festival. He made sure to add a silent prayer that nothing like that happened today, even though his gut knew that it would. Damn Rockets.

"Walk and talk." said Mike as he started for the Pokemon Center, fiddling with Felsic's Pokeball as he walked.

Hearing the given name Ampersand just smirked slightly and didn't say anything on that. Instead he picked himself up and rubbed Luffy under the chin like you would a Meowth, though Luffy didn't seem to mind. The happy Aipom didn't seem to know that he wasn't supposed to be awake around the man and was quite happily perched on his shoulder. "Well all right if we are all set to go, I know a good place around here." It had been a while since he had been there but he was sure that it would still be open. Plus it had a generator so when he walked in the power wouldn't go out.

"All right that sounds fine to me." Robin didn't know her way around the town so she was going to trust Ampersand. There didn't seem to be a place this man hadn't been before. Looking over at the pretty lady Robin couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable. She had never seen anyone who was that pretty before. "Umm... Hello Ann, my name is Robin and that's Luffy." She said motioning to the happy Aipom.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Aidan hadn't been sure what to expect but this certainly wasn't it. Officer Jenny was obviously very happy with her cake and Aidan felt a surge of pride at that, though it didn't show. Jun though, Jun seemed happy at first, then mad, then some other strange expression he couldn't quite understand. Still he was happy that overall the cake seemed to be liked and that made him feel pretty good. Seeing that the lasagna was a bit over done he decided to pipe in his own opinion. "Lasagna tastes better usually when its a bit over done. At least that's what most people tell me."
Not really wanting to say more, in case he would be glared at by either of the two. Sitting himself down at the table politely Aidan felt a little uncomfortable. It wasn't often that other people feed him, usually he was the one feeding everyone else. Still he would not be rude, if Officer Jenny wished to feed him he would eat it, even if she wanted to feed him Weedles. He was happy that she wasn't but the point was he wouldn't be rude.
((yay!))
Even though she knew the Ralts seemed to be doing this willingly, Riza couldn't help but feel a little nervous as the pokeball rocked back and forth, the light in the center blinking rapidly. Sneasel stood nearby, arms crossed while she waited for the outcome of this capture attempt. Finally, after what seemed like ages, the sphere came to a standstill, the red light blinking out and a resonating 'ding' sounding out through the area. Very slowly Riza's lips curved into a smile and she quickly ran over to the Pokemon, picking it up in her hands. "We did it, Sneasel! Our very first catch!"
"Snee!" Sneasel cheered, clapping her hands excitedly. She was very glad that her first new Pokemon friend was someone she already knew she'd get along with, and she tugged at the hem of Riza's skirt excitedly. "Sneasel snee!"
"All right, all right," Riza said, understanding perfectly. She held up the pokeball triumphantly as though it were a prized trophy and she were showing it off to the world. "Come on out, Ralts!" she cried, throwing it high into the air. The adorable little psychic popped out in a flash of red light, and instantly teleported herself from view. Riza didn't even get a chance to question the Pokemon's actions because very soon she reappeared, sitting happily right on Riza's left shoulder. "Welcome to the team, Ralts," she said, reaching up to pat the Pokemon on the head. "I bet we're going to have some interesting adventures together!" She reached up and pulled Ralts into her arms and beckoned to Sneasel. "Come on, let's get back to the Pokemon Center and get you two healed up!"
Only nightmares filled Sabrina's unconscious mind. Images of a man unleashing his fury unto Pokemon Trainers was the only thing she saw... He was old, but very much able to take care of himself.
And then she saw Nina. She saw Nina involved with him... she was being stalked by him. She saw Whitney, that Gym Leader from the Johto region, and there was a boy with them as well... who was that? Was that that Raimundo boy?
Other people started showing up as well-- Kasiya, and Mike, and then Kilik... Why?
Sabrina stirred slightly. She went to open her eyes, but it hurt, it hurt so badly. It felt as if she had ten-pound weights holding her eyelids down, and after much effort, she was able to open her eyes. Blinking a few times, she looked around at her surroundings, keeping her head still.
She heard a constant, intermittent beep as her eyes wandered. She saw that she was no longer outside, but now in a small room, decorated with a chair, some complicated-looking machines, a small table next to her, and apparently a bed-- just the one she was laying on. Was she in the hospital in Mahogany? Was she even still in Mahogany? How long had she been there? Who found her? Too many questions were swirling through her mind, none of which she had answers to. Looking to the the doorway, Sabrina very slowly leaned forward to sit up, trying to get up and out of the bed. As she was doing that, a nurse walked into her room, a clipboard in one hand and a pen in the other.
When the nurse saw Sabrina attempting to get up, the clipboard and pen slipped out of her hands and clattered on the floor. "Holy s**t!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide as dinner plates. She turned around and ran out of the room, hollering, "Doctor Hardwick! She's awake! She's come out of her coma!"
Sabrina froze.
Once she got outside Kasiya recalled her Pokemon one by one, clipping each ball back into place. She too had that pre-battle anticipation beginning to pump through her veins even though she had only offered as a means for both her and Crenu to train their Pokemon. She couldn't explain it though somehow she knew this sudden adrenaline rush was connected to more than just the pending battle with the stoic, serious Crenu. Something's going to happen today, she thought, shivering with cold despite the warm sunshine beaming down on her. I don't know what it is but something is going to happen... She looked around the beach with an almost paranoid demeanor, suddenly overwhelmed by the feeling that she - no, everyone, was being watched. She glanced from beach goer to beach goer, very much fearing that any one of them could be involved in whatever was going to go down and were just waiting for the perfect moment to attack...
Crenu's soft voice on the cool breeze was the only thing that snapped her out of her thoughts of impending doom and she turned to face him, putting on another smile despite the fact that she was still visibly shaking. She was a bit surprised to see that he was now wearing shorts although she swore they looked a lot like the pants he'd been wearing earlier, but much shorter than before. Now grinning for real she nodded at Crenu. "What happened, get into a fight with a lawn mower?" she asked playfully, now tossing a Pokeball up and down in one hand. "Anyway, wanna get things started?"
=-=-=-=-=
Jaeshan didn't really know what to do or say so he simply just nodded and waved. When it seemed appropriate he introduced himself, kind of wishing he could just fade into the background. Robin seemed to be as uncomfortable as he was though and it made him feel a little better. He had no arguments about where they went for lunch, although he kinda hoped it wouldn't be anything too exotic. His parents were very fond of getting strange and unusual foods from all around the world and he often wished they could just eat normal meals like normal families. He couldn't help but notice how happy Luffy seemed to be now that the Ampersand character was around, and Jaeshan inwardly wondered if that was his real name.
He had the same thoughts when Ann introduced herself, as it sounded like she'd just made the name up on the spot. It didn't bother him that she didn't want to divulge her real name to a couple of strangers, although he did wonder what she was doing way out here in Slateport. He thought she looked familiar but he couldn't quite place where he'd seen her before.
"Nice to meet you too, Robin, Jaeshan," 'Ann' said, nodding at the two younger trainers. She leaned over and gave Ampersand a playful nudge. "For someone who doesn't like people you sure seem to have made a friend here," she said, nodding towards the redhead. There was something about the way the girl acted that reminded her of herself when she was younger; shy, lacking self-confidence and probably thinking that she wasn't worth very much as a person. She stood up and put her black leather boots back on before standing up. "Well, shall we be going?" she asked, rubbing her stomach a little. "I'm starved!"
Possibly the last thing Flannery had been expecting was for the strange Pokemon that the surfer boy idiot had called 'Dunsparce' to move first. Off the bat Flannery had her Torkoal lead off with a Flamethrower, but surprisingly enough the strange, worm-like creature had thrown up a shimmering, green barrier and the intense flames crashed up against it harmlessly, shielding the Pokemon from any damage whatsoever. The most surprising part had been when the Dunsparce recovered quickly, and burst through the dissipating flames and came crashing into Torkoal with a rather strong Headbutt. The attack hit hard and Torkoal actually flinched from the impact, leaving him wide open to take a second hit, this one a Take Down.
Not impressed by this in the least, Flannery had Torkoal use Iron Defense to give himself a boost, and then followed it up with another Flamethrower, this one hitting its mark with perfect accuracy. It was easy to see how well Flannery and Torkoal worked together, with Torkoal putting all his trust into Flannery and her commands. The surfer then told his Dunsparce to Dig underground, and it disappeared in a flurry of sand, leaving a small-ish tunnel in its wake.
Mai and Leo's surveying of the beach brought them full-circle back to the place where they had started. As luck and circumstance would have it this happened to be just outside the snack shop from which Kasiya and Crenu were exiting; in fact an overly excited Kasiya had nearly run a stunned 'Cammy' over in the process. She grumbled to herself and went inside, followed by a fairly amused 'Bryan' and the two got themselves a drink before heading back outside. It was difficult but Mai managed to keep her anger and hatred in check and instead she and Leo made their way over to a bench, some distance away but close enough to still observe the battle between the two trainers. Mai noticed almost immediately that her half-sister seemed to be quite on edge, which was rather unusual for the girl. Perhaps it was just because of the battle she was about to have but Mai highly doubted that. She can't suspect something, there's no possible way! she thought, sipping on her soda and watching carefully. She had to admit though, if none of the kids suspected that something was going to go down today, then perhaps they were giving them far more credit than was actually due.
She checked her watch and looked up at Leo, allowing herself to observe and appreciate his well-toned and tanned body. After all, she was supposed to be acting the part of the doting beach-bunny girlfriend after all, so why not play it up a little? Leo didn't seem to mind in the slightest, although his eyes maintained a hint of seriousness. Both Rockets knew that time was slowly ticking down to the point when they would make their move, and they would both be ready for when that moment finally came.
Sae grinned broadly. "Another day, Swablu. Fickle Smeargle we got here. But more importantly, what a sturdy wrecking ball Tora's become! Hope she learns she ain't as little as she used to be, or she'll knock people down by just blowing her nose. Figures my walking disaster of a sister would find a natural disaster of a Pokemon..."
M.A. pouted in protest. Tora, on the other hand, tilted her head, not comprehending, and in the process her nose flipped the Smeargle and sent him flying.
"Say, that Smeargle yours? If it is, tell it to stop painting the poor waiter."
"No, he isn't. He just came flying in."
"He flies?"
"Yeah... Is that not normal?"
"I wouldn't call it normal. Oh, Train! Sorry, you look starving. Spade, drag that Smeargle off the man, or we'll never eat. What says you to a huge platter of ... meat? Sounds good," Sae decided arbitrarily, smiling like a kid about to be awarded with the first place spelling bee trophy. M.A. sighed, exasperated, although she too had a huge silly smile across her face; the girl adored her brother, no matter how irrepressible he was. And plus, not ordering meat at a Korean barbeque was just a bit short of scandalous.
"That'll come with rice and salad," the man said with a gasp, having just been mauled first by a Smeargle and then by a Linoone -- Spade never was very accurate.
"Oh yeah! Could we have some Pokemon food too? Nearly forgot there."
"Of course. Any drinks?"
"Beer."
"Water, please."
"And you, miss?"
Meanwhile, the Smeargle got to work for the second time on Tora, since obviously his last palette didn't seem to want to be painted. Shame, it had such a nice white surface too. Before he got too far with his work on the wall, however, he decided it was time for a lunch snooze; and so, the artist suddenly plopped onto the floor with his head lying on his brown messenger bag, falling asleep nearly instantaneously.
------
"Riiight," Jun said, staring down at the serving Jenny had unceremoniously dumped onto his plate. The top was as black as Jun's eyeliner, and that was pretty black. Well, maybe his cousin was celebrating different ethnicities through pasta. It'd be discriminatory if all pastas were white or brown...
Jenny, however, totally ignored Jun's comment and beamed. "I thought so too! So I figured it'd be alright if I left it in for another ten minutes or so."
And so Jenny more neatly served Aidan and herself more moderate sections of the lasagna before running off to grab the breadsticks she had left in said oven by accident. Jun took a bite of one, resulting in a terrible crunch (which either came from Jun's incisors or the bread, we're not sure) and cursed; in response, Jenny punched him in the faux-hawk. "First you molest the teeth and then the hair?!" the man cried woefully, casting his glance towards Aidan in a quest for pity and understanding. Look at the cruelties he had to live through under this madwoman!
And so the meal ensued like so, a very lively meal indeed, though it was a typical mean by their standards. Jun's Jynx, Leeron, sat composedly at the side, eating little dainty bites and hardly batting an eye at the ongoing feud between cousin and cousin. They never killed each other, so that was fine. She did, however, bat plenty of eyes at the newcomer man, whom she found terribly attractive... Though if Jun liked him, she supposed she could give him the free shot. Didn't seem like Jun's type at all, but who knows; her trainer was an equal-opportunity employer sometimes.
As they spoke they neared the familiar red and white building. It was a haven for both Pokemon and trainer alive, she had no idea what she would have done in so many cases without that building and the pink haired nurses. Mitsu furrowed her brows, it wasn't like Mike to stammer like that, especially not after a victory. "Maybe sending Karri out isn't the brightest of ideas," she said slowly though she did think that the Psychic would love to see her little Felsic. Then again the only reason she hadn't sent out the pesky Gardevior was for the fear of being caught with her increasingly troubling thoughts. She'd have to consult her most trusted confidant on the matter soon, her ancient and badly burnt book. A small sigh managed to escape her lips, oh! how she wished there was just someone she could meet with the same gift. Or perhaps the same curse would be a better name for it.
Mitsu paused, having not even realized that she had made a mention of her Gyrados beforehand. ". . . Nightmare is off with a friend. I'm not so sure it would be in his best interest for me to start carrying him around again. . . though I really do miss the guy." And she truely wasn't quite sure. Her strange craving for adrenaline, or was it power?, was odd. And another Rocket incident would probably put the poor dragon out of commission for good. The electric torture he went through was definately nothing short of tramatizing, even for a big and strong fellow like Nightmare. Just thinking about it sent chills up her spine.
