"Always. He said he wants to train with you tomorrow morning, though. Since you don't have school and all that." She got up and got herself a glass of milk and some cookies to snack on.

she let out a sigh and looked down a bit. "yea. i figured he would." she was really not liking this training. it wasn't like it was before. she was a little scared to do it now.

She seen that she didn't look too happy about it and wondered what that was about. "Training not going well? I thought you enjoyed it."

he rested his hands on the side of her head and held her head up. "it's different now. it's like he giving me life or death situations to make me go into the game face mode. i tried to resist it as much as i can but i still keep getting taken over."

"Life or death? What do you mean?" This concerned Mari and made her curious. She wasn't too sure how their training went, but if it was something that was making Raine unhappy or scared, she would interfere with it.

she sighed and knew she couldn't lie to her mother. "he'll fight me in his game face mode and drive me into having to change into mine. once i do he starts shouting for me to fight it and keep listening to his voice."

She slammed her hand on the table and stood up. "I'll give him a life or death situation. I'll kick his a**." She wasn't happy considering that if it hasn't worked by now he should have been able to pick up that she needed to learn to control it a different way than that.

she clenched her fists and looked at her mother as she stood up. "no! it has to be this way. i have to learn how to handle this. i dont want to hurt anyone again!" by this she meant the incident where she hurt garreth during a training scession.

"But if it's not working that way, he should have known to try to teach you a different way. Has this training even been helping? You sound like it hasn't been. I don't want you getting hurt over something that's not going to produce more good than harm in the long run." She looked at her and leaned towards the table with her hands resting on it.

She looked her in the eyes to make sure that she wasn't being lied to and pointed to her eyes and then to Raine's. "As long as there's improvement, I can't say it's not working. I'll trust you and your father's judgement, but don't think that I won't step in if I think it's gone too far."

"I'm not saying you won't. My point is that there's many different roads that lead to where you need to go. Just because something works for one person doesn't mean that it will work for another. I was going to be very angry if your father kept doing something that was hurting you, but not showing improvement. That's all." She sat back down and dipped a cookie in the glass of milk she got and took a bite of it.
