I want to meet AG people.
On that note, how many AGers are planning to go to AX 08?

Okay, so my opinion on the whole "Clementine" thing. First of all, this Jack Meyers guy obviously did some research on Gaia, but I don't think it was enough, considering he seems to be a bit misinformed on some points about Gaia itself. Although he mentioned that Gaia does a lot to protect its users, he failed to convey the fact that we are constantly bombarded by warnings not to give our password away, to beware of off-site links, etc.. Also, I'm wondering why Mr. Meyers quotes his own book (in the third person even). Despite the fact that the article is co-written with another person, isn't it a little unprofessional to do that if you're trying to write a professional article? About Clementine, it's pretty stupid to give your password away like that but everyone makes mistakes. I don't think she deserves all of the criticism she's getting over this, even if the incident was publicized. Afterall, it was her mother that was also stupid enough to assume it was right to give her password up, then fail to read or understand the ToS about reporting and WAITING for the report to go through, and then ridiculously bringing such a trivial matter to public and eventually the CEO of Gaia. Uggh. The lesson here is "Get your own way at all costs"? How ridiculous... I'm also really disappointed about how this case was dealt with. Just because the CEO's attention has been caught, everything is magically fixed? I think that's very unfair, considering there are many people who have been waiting MUCH longer than she has for their hacking/scamming reports to be dealt with and/or resolved. Boo, Gaia. Despite the negatives, the article did mention this: Quote: Sherman's added solution [to the (I assume he means long wait time with) hacking problems] is a full-time team that is focusing on actively helping people like Clementine. Since I'm not a Gaia staff member, I don't know how likely that is to happen, but doesn't it sound like a good idea? Perhaps a large, dedicated, paid team of people working on hacking cases could help them to be resolved a bit quicker and with better results than "sorry, forget even getting your stuff back talk2hand ". I know I'd be livid/extremely upset for a while if I lost all of my items, considering many of them were paid for by myself as well as gifted by friends (not that I'd give my password away or anything, but you never know what could happen...).

XD If I end up going (which will be the direct result of there being a lot of AGers there), I'll find some way to stay around there that is cheap, whether that's with a friend from school or something else, I don't know. XD

Phoenix Goliathane Shoujo Phoenix I'm kinda confused. I didn't think this was the normal protocol concerning accounts lost to scammers? Yes it is. After you file a hacking report, you're supposed to tell your mom that Gaia traumatized you for life, and then she's supposed to tell one of her BFFs that just happens to have high-level connections to Gaia about your tragic plight, who then goes to the CEO of Gaia Interactive, who then holds a gun to the admins to force them to give her account back even though she lost it due to her own stupidity. I also held fire about the value of the account. In terms of items? My studded leather collar is approximately the same worth as her entire account, and that's one of the low-end items I routinely wear. (We'll not go into detail about the chain wallet, demon horns, and devil tail.) But, thinking back to 2004 (when we were all noob): I'd only been on Gaia for a short time, and 135k would be a lot of gold to me. I wouldn't have been crushed for life, but I was also...almost 20 when I joined? Yeah, huge difference of maturity there. sweatdrop On the other hand, even had Gaia been around in 1997, I would have been upset about losing my account. I might have left. I certainly would at least have said something about Mommy harassing Gaia's CEO, because that would have been quite unseemly. @hila: I haven't been in GCD, nor does it seem like I really want to be there after that. I was kind of pissed at her, but I'm not going to smear a 13-year-old girl in public just because her mommy is a helicopter parent. The comments on the entry itself weren't that kind, either. sweatdrop Well, 135k now is a few k back in 04...I mean, I bought my DT around May or so for 60k. Letters now are about...16k, 3k then...so 135k would go to about 25k or so then. Oh inflation.

Their reaction honestly made me more mad than the actual incident itself. confused
