TweedleKeys A lot of people, for weddings and other big events, need to learn that demanding perfection is only going to lead to heartache and disappointment and perhaps extreme bitchiness. We considered rings before but I don't know, even a few hundred dollars seems like a waste of money to me. I think Diffy wants to at least be vaguely traditional though. When I was a little kid I had my dream wedding all planned out. It had an awesome dress, it was snowing at the time and between the ceremony and the reception I would use my superpowers to save the city from some sort of galactic threat.Since that's not going to happen, I'm fine with the cheapest route and maybe a party with my friends. I'm totally for an awesome honeymoon though... or really any excuse to have an awesome trip somewhere. Still, that would've been a pretty awesome wedding. heart
I have no idea what I'd do for a wedding on the off chance I ever have one. I just know it'd better be somewhere I can bring my dog(s).

hilaroma Kinetic Dream So, I've been having some uncomfortable dreams lately, but every time I get up to turn off my alarm it's like they're snatched away from me and I can never seem to get them back, except for bits and peices. Usually some of the ultra violence, people meeting gruesome ends, the grotesque in the extreme. But tonight was, just weird. I woke up, and had my dreams snatched again, except for one section, with someone sitting on my stomach, pinning my shoulders to the bed, somehow with an extra set of arms choking the hell out of me. Normally, I'd brush it off as being 'normal' (hell, you should hear about some of the other dreams I've had) and eventually use it as story fodder, but even when I woke up, walked around, and even still now, I can still feel something, 'heavy' hanging over me, specifically at the spots I mentioned. gonk Halp. I've had that kind of dream fairly occasionally throughout my life. The cause (for me anyway) has been some sort of physical discomfort while I was sleeping. For example, Hiro and I once fell asleep with his arm around me (not very heavily, might I add), and I ended up dreaming that someone was trying suffocate me quite violently. After I woke up, the memory of been suffocated was still very clear and painful, and even several minutes after getting up and getting a drink and a chance to breathe, I still felt very mentally and physically...suffocated. Kind of hard to explain, but the feeling definitely lingered. Does that seem like what happened with you? Maybe you slept wrong on your back or something? I have things like that, too. Though I can't always figure out what the original cause was. A while ago I had a dream that I was violently attacked by an alpaca that bit my right arm and kept charging me while it was still biting into my arm. ... No, I don't know why it was an alpaca. sweatdrop
But when I woke up, that arm hurt like hell and it bugged me for hours.
There's a whole documented syndrome about things like that, particularly the feeling of having someone holding you down in bed. I know I've read about it before but I can't remember anything. XP

LunaInverse Well, for a more scientific explanation, sounds like night terrors. Although those usually happen to survivors of horrendous traumas (some rape survivors can actually FEEL their rapist attacking them again, even though they know the rapist isn't there). http://www.nightterrors.org/ But, for a slightly more paranormal explanation, night hags. http://www.hauntedbay.com/features/nightterror.shtml http://www.sleepnet.com/rest3/messages/772.html There we go, those are the things. heart
This is what I get for replying to 100 page-old backlog.
But I personally vote that Kin's got night hags.

AzurePaleSky I'm seeing Gogol Bordello tonight in LA... it takes like 2 and a half hours to drive, and my ex said he'd drive. But low and behold, of course he tells me an hour before we leave that his car's not working, so we'll have to take mine. And he said he'd drive it, but I don't feel comfortable with most people driving my car... and at this point I don't want to go because I don't like him and I have a midterm essay to write and we won't be back until 2 am or so because he has to stop by a friend's place in LA. Blech. Also, I've been breaking out sooo much from all this stress... even my acupuncturist for my migraines is telling me stuff I shouldn't eat sweatdrop It's worse than when I was a teenager... crying HEY.
Somebody was actually going to see a band I know. :O I swear, I haven't heard of three quarters of the stuff people listen to. crying
Sounds like a bad time, though. gonk Did you end up going or just skipping out?
I hope the migraines are getting better and the essay went well. crying heart

Skizzors TweedleKeys Skizzors Okay. Screw homework. I can do it tomorrow. I am going BOWLING. Yes. my best score: 69. xd However I did once get to say: "Cuz that's how I bowl.." Last time I went real bowling, I think I got somewhere in the 40s. It was with my whole project team. All the business people were scoring up into the 200s and our little group of engineers couldn't clear 100. At least a good portion of them could claim not growing up in a country where bowling is played. ...I'm right on the edge of pro in Wii bowling though!

Streamjumper LunaInverse So, an amusing Luna moment. We ordered Chinese food recently. And they always give you fortune cookies. So I crack open one of them...and burst out laughing. Why? Because my damn fortune cookie was hitting on me. The fortune read... Are your legs tired? Because you've been running through my mind all day.It was the oddest fortune I've ever gotten. Stream laughed his a** off. I'm amazed you didn't mention my reactions to it hitting on you... after you brought it to my attention. I impaled the fortune on a fork, lit it on fire, and washed the ashes down the kitchen sink. *quietly hides the paystub from her part-time job at the fortune cookie factory*

Dr. Fomite Peppermint Elf It's kinda funny. I watch Bridezillas and just shake my head. Some women are quite.... stupid when it comes to weddings. "ZOMG!!1! This is my day and it has to be perfect or I'll die!"
My groom (should I have one) is gonna be massively lucky. I just want a cake and a ring. It doesn't even have to be a nice ring or a fancy cake. It can be a $12 cake from the grocery store. xd Hey, baby. I hope you don't mind if it's a day old. wink heart It was on sale.
I even snagged the ring from the little machine on my way out of the store. heart *stares at Mala dreamily* I do. heart

XP I remember experiencing that sensation a few times (the one where it feels like you're being held down by something) and I've always thought of it like this - my mind is half awake and I'm semi-conscious but my body has not woken up and refuses the signals from my brain to move. In other words: Brain - *yawn* Eh ... is it that time already ... doesn't feel like it ... hey Body. Body - *SNORE* Brain - Body ... Dude! Body - *SNOOOOOOOOORE* Brain - BODY! BODY! BODY! ... Body ... Body ... zzz
