Corri nearly drops the spoon he was stirring with. In a 'duh' kind of voice, he replies, "It's summer. It's hot out."

"But it's not that hot in here." She protests, then she gets a good look at Corri. Particularly Corri's navel. "What the hell is thaT?" she demands, pointing at his PIERCED navel.
Billy snikers. "Relax mom. It's just a navel piercing, and it's hot."

Corri decides to slightly redirect the conversation, "Are you two staying for supper, I just started so I can put more on?"

His mom gives him a terse nod, then brings her things to her room. She comes back in. "Just me though, your father is still away."

Billy doesn't bother putting on a shirt and sits at the table. "Why isn't dad with you?" he asks.
Their mom looks at him and sighs. She doesn't say anything about Billy's ink or metal additions, because he's the bad son. "I found your father in his office late one night." she says. "He was there with his secretary. Neither of them were wearing any clothes."

Corri catches the tail end of that and makes a face (that mom can't see), before going back to the stove to work on supper.

"s**t." Billy says.
Their mom glares, because he's not supposed to be swearing. "So I'll be staying here for a while." she says. "It's not enough that that b*****d insists I travel with him for all of his business meetings, he has to cheat on me as well!"

Billy kinda feels bad for his mom, because it seems like she hadn't even wanted to go on all those trips. He goes to his room and grabs a bottle. Then he comes back and offers it to his mom.
"Somehoe it feels wrong to be offered alcohol by your eighteen year old son." she says. But she takes it anyway.

Corri, being the weirdo he is, decides to make cupcakes. Vegan ones of course, but no one has to tell their mom that.

Bilyl just sits at the table with their mom, watching her down the booze. He wants to ask her to replace it afterward, but thinks he might get in trouble for that. Currently, he;s strying to think of a way that he and Cor can be together if their mom is going to be there for a while.

And then, their mom decides t hat she's drunk enough that she's going to start talking. "You guys are great, you know.." she starts. "I wish I had been there for you more, and i wish I had been here while you grew up." she sighs. "Your father is strange. He figured that once you were sixteen, you could fend for yourself, and he basically forced me to accompany him on his business trips, like I was some trophy that he had to show off. 'This is my wife, isn't she gorgeous? Would you believe that she gave birth to twins?'"
