AdmiralHunter I have two questions, one specifically for DarkElf27 and the other as a general question. 1.) In the beginning it seemed like all you did was talk smack about the Guard, DarkElf, but now you seem to respect them more. I might be wrong on that part but I am curious as to the change. 2.) Would it be ok for my to post lists for comments and suggestions? yes you can post lists. just don't go posting pt costs for everything on the groups. I think you can post total cost in pts just can't list out flamer- x pts.

I don't specifically remember insulting the Guard. Either way, it probably has something to do with my starting a Guard army some time back. @ Brookman: I posted the army list in the Medusa room, which is basically all I have at the moment.

without meaning to interupt I was wondering if there is a imperial guard list that allows the taking of grey knights?

fish_bait without meaning to interupt I was wondering if there is a imperial guard list that allows the taking of grey knights? I think so. Like Witch Hunters, you can use 2 troops, 1 HQ, 1 Fast Attack and 1 Elite troop choice (No heavy support) from either book of the inquisition, and use them as allies to another imperial force, be it Guard or Marines.
Yes, according to some clever wording, an army can have:
HQ- 1 Chaplain with Terminator Retuniue(Astartes)* 1 Inquisitor (Malleus/Hereticus/Xenos)* Troop- 2 Marine squads (Astartes)** 2 Grey Knight squads (Malleus) 1 Witch Hunter unit (Hereticus) 1 Inqusitorial Storm Trooper unit(Hereticus)* Fast Attack- 1 Seraphim squad (Hereticus) 1 Deepstriking Grey Knight unit (Malleus) 1 Assault Marine squad (Astartes) Elites- 1 Grey Knight Terminator unit (Malleus)* 1 Arco Flagellant squad with Priest (Hereticus) 1 Terminator unit (Astartes)* Heavy Support- 1 Land Raider (Astartes) 1 Land Raider Crusader (Astartes) 1 Land Raider Crusader (Astartes)
The Asterisked models, you can take models if their numbers allow, I think. Be it Chimera, Razorback, or Land Raider. Yeah, I count 5 Land Raiders there, and some Grey Knight Terminators. It might be a good army if you can get that Chaplain to stick close to them Grey Knight Termies, eh?
Of course, this lise is only boderline legal.

My friend always told me that you can't mix Hereticus and malleus in the same army list.

Dubyamn My friend always told me that you can't mix Hereticus and malleus in the same army list. No, you can't mix Hereticus with Malleus, when either is a core 'base' army.
But I read both the "allied as" sections on page 21 or so in each Codex, and it seems fine and legal.

Get the feck back on topic, this is meant for the Witch Hunters or Daemon Hunters thread, as it does not detail the Imperial Guard.

Just replace "Space marines" and "Astartes" stuff with "Guard" stuff, and I think it's still legal.

To kick things back into the right setting (Imperial Guard that is), here's my combat patrol list that I used against an ork patrol.
Doctrines. - Close Order Drill - Iron Discipline - Hardened Fighters - Sharpshooters - Special equipment: carapace armour
All squads have carapace armour and the hardened fighters upgrade.
Lieutenant Horst - Plasma pistol, power weapon and Iron Discipline. Veteran - Laspistol and ccw. Medic - Laspistol and ccw. Guardsmen (2) - Plasma guns (2).
Veteran Sergeant Makarov - Bolt pistol and ccw. Guardsmen (9) - Heavy bolter, flamer and sharpshooters.
Veteran Sergeant Dubois - Laspistol and ccw. Guardsmen (9) - Lascannon, grenade launcher and sharpshooters.

-Mykal Still a pretty Damn evil list, although the priest and the arco flagellents have to be taken separatly, i.e the preist takes up an additional Elites choice and no model can ever join a unit of flagellents.
