Link Stood on the edge of the massive floating platform known as Cloud City, the winds whipping about him as he stared into the endless sky.

In his hands, he held a device of Bespin Make, a small glider designed to carry a small trinket aloft upon the clouds. Known as a memory flyer, these glyders were marked with the name of a deceased loved one and loaded with flowers or some small item the deceased once cherrished before being set aloft to ride the Bespin winds.
It was belived by the locals that the gliders would ride the winds into the afterlife where the dead would find them and be reassured that those left behind had not forgotten them.

The Memory Flyer Link held, while loaded with a payload of flowers, had no name written upon it. Only a number, written in Huttese.
Link closed his eyes and then, with a strong throw of his left arm, sent the glider on its way.
It spiraled for a bit before catching a favorable current. Soon it was winging its way out of sight.

Link watched it until it had disapeared among the clouds and then bowed his head for a time.

His memorial over, he turned and made his way back into the city, to locate the next Clue he would need to find his ancestor's fabled treasure.

Vera stood effortlessly and faced Gunther. "And that," she smiled, "is that. Let's return to your master's side. I believe I can sense his consciousness strengthening. Also, I believe these credits would best be put to use by one of your new companions, yes?"

" Dammit! I'm not prepared for this! " Angel said, only able to watch the fight between Freya and her friends as the new Sith threat came onto the scene. She would try to help with the Force, but couldn't risk hurting the others, so she had to stay out of it. By the time she got the chance to get an attack in, the Sith was already fleeing. " Sith! " she cursed. Her attention then turned to the fallen Sith that arrived 1st. Picking him up, she noticed he was dead. Between the point blank explosion and crossfire, he left this world. " Great. R1, see if you can get any references to odd activity recently that might possibly be Sith fronts or anything close to that. " R1 acknowledged only with a few beeps, otherwise remaining mostly lifeless, as Angel layed back down, Force Pushing the dead Sith a good distance away. She stared up into the sky, thinking. " Hmm... What do the Sith want with Freya? "

Mon Cal ...

"Yes, let us do that," Gunther said to Vera. "We should also plan our next move after this,"

And with that, Gunther frowned, and shook his head.

(( DA: you sure you don't want us to turn around and pick you up? ^^;; ))

Iust put his thermal detonator away and crossed over to Iria and Kalnar. He could tell he was going to feel this fight tommorow, he hadn't been this beaten up in a long time. But his opponent had taken it worse. Iust was surprised by the fortitude of his Mandalorian assailant, the man should have collapsed when he was shot, but he had continued the fight for quite a while after being wounded. He was tough, Iust would grant him that.

"I think they're coming back,: Iust said to Iria nodding towards the returning Vera and Gunther.

Iria then waved to Gunther and Vera. "Did it go well?" she asked the pair. She then noted the now pensive expression on Gunther's countenance. "Are you ok, Sir Gunther?" she asked the young man.

Vera put a hand on Gunther's shoulder in a comforting gesture before breaking away and moving towards Iust. "I have a couple of things for you, sir. First I would like to offer you healing. Second, I would like to offer you these credits, I believe there are some 100,000 in standard currency..." she held them out.

"I thank you on both accounts. I am sorry for the mess this scrap has caused, but now we should discuss what to do next." Iust replied taking the credits from Vera.

Vera motioned for him to join her by the recovering MonCal Jedi. "I believe that is indeed the most pressing matter. Where do we go from here?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 12, 2006 12:13 am

"I think we should first move him to a more comfortable area. I don't imagine lying on the cold floor of a hangar would be to good for his recovery. Also a more private location would be more secure from threats and we have much to discuss" Iust responded indicating the MonCal on the floor.

Mon Cal ...

"Agreed," said Gunther, as he debated whether or not to tell the others of the disturbance he felt in the Force. Freya ... he thought. Please be safe,

"Master, how are you feeling?" he asked Kalnar.

"I've been better," the Mon Cal laughed weakly. "At any rate, we should be wary of the Core at this time,"

Vera knelt by Kalnar's side and started to pick him up. "I agree that we should move to somewhere more secure. Any ideas where, master?"

"There is an apartment a few blocks from here, known as the Seagull's Flight," Kalnar offered. "A friend of my cousin owns it, and I sometimes stay there when I'm on-world,"

Gunther smiled. "A good plan, master," he said. "Let us be on our way, then," he said, helping support his master on his shoulder.

((Thanks for puppetting Aurora. I had a carwash to do friday and have been doing homework for the past two days. I just took a break now to post. I have to finish my paper.))

Aurora slipped into the copilots seat with a sigh of relief. "That was a close one. I wonder what they wanted with you? I'm begining to think that the sith had something to do with your father's death and not the former emperor." she said as they flew back towards Theed.

The Datalink was posing difficult to get to.
As usual.
The homing device installed in the image caster was proving to be more trouble than it was worth, but given the age and construction of the device, Link should not have been suprised.
However, he did find out one interesting thing about Cloud City: the entire platform was maintained primarily by a single industrious species: The Ugnaughts.
They were a well organized race of engineers with a long Oral history.
Certainly they would know of a Datalink being installed in the city somewhere.
After a series of inquiries among the Ugnaught population, Link discovered that the person whom he should be talking to would be their ruler: King Poz.
Link found out that the Ugnaught ruler was fond of gambling his hard earned credits at the Trest Casino, and concluded that the casino would be the best place for him to locate the King.
But as he was aproaching the Casino, a scaled form blocked his path.

"Oro?" Link queried as he found himself looking at a rather large and muscular Trandoshan.
"Hold it human." The Lizard growled. "Weapons check. You're not going in there with all those blades."
Link nodded. "Of course. Pardon this one's ignorance."
The young man unstrapped his sword belt and passed that and his gaffi stick to the Trandoshan. Then, he pulled out his boot knife and passed that to him as well.
The Trandoshan eyed the weapons before him.
"No blasters?" He asked suspiciously.
"No blasters. This one does not engage in blast fights, nor has encountered a situation that could not be resolved by a blade. Besides, it is against Gladatorial combat rules to carry a lightarm."
The Trandoshan nodded his understanding, though still suspicious. "You look a little small to be a prize fighter, Human."
Link chuckled and waved his hand dismissively. "Believe this one when he says he is a rather skilled fighter."
"You are a skilled fighter...." The Trandoshan droned.
"You will permit him access to the Casino."
"I'll permit you access to the Casino..."
"Good day to you, Sir." Link nodded as he passed through the weapon's scanner and into the casino.
"Good day to you, Sir." The Trandoshan found itself muttering in reply.
