MiyokoxClarinetti Nevira Shadowfire SilverTsuki Woo!
My band is about to go to UIL, and we're going to $&^# it all up. xD UIL? What's that? Oh, wait! I know! Unicycle Instruction League xd rofl *runs* rofl rofl United Instruments League!!!!!!!!! O____________________O; uhhhhhhhh so anyways DD: DON'T KILL MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! gaspiness x_x; I thought I wasn't so busy this week, turns out I still am ;_; a jillion tests, all these grammar exercises, art stuff... emo Band has being going great [ignoring all state...for Istill get the giggles when playing "hambone"] we have a competition at Ming Hall [a hall at cal state ful.] X_X FIRST to go up, at 8 am [I don't mind, its just that we're one of teh only two middle school groups there....which scares me.......] my clarinet seems to disagree with me, for the past month dear Chihiro has been acting up o_O;. I think its the reeds, or maybe its lack of long tones? =/ I be confuzzled............... back to practicing biggrin Don't worry Miyoko! I'm not going to kill you, I was having a bit of fun cool It's probably the weather affecting your clarinet. Here we've had snow, sleet, ice, all that fudge stuck on the ground for about a week and then it all melted in one day last Friday and now we're looking at more frozen stuff at the end of the week. Needless to say, it's been wreaking havoc on temperature-affected instruments. 3nodding Looks like for contest/concert we're playing "Chants Long Forgotten" by Roland Barrett (awesome piece! Fearless Leader wrote the molto ritard at the end! blaugh ) and if Fearless Leader decides it, "Jubiloso" by David Whatsisname (and there's nothing jubilant about it scream stressed ) and something else yet to be decided.

I've been playing clarinet for 3 and a half years... Marching is icky to me because I'm always the person who gets stuck playing base clarinet and marching with it! Its heavy. Clarinet is my dream, but I wish to play oboe sometime soon.

sounds annoying......i hate the oboe but that could just be because the only oboe in our band likes showing of when shes not good so everyday after class she sits there for like 10 minutes playing the oboe as loud as she can and its so annoying!!

Hehe, we don't march bass clarinets cool Which ticks Andrew, "the" (as he likes to call himself) bass clarinet of the band, off to no end. But he's graduating this year, so we don't have to deal with him anymore. I mean, he's a great player, but a total *Navi* when it comes to everything else. On top of that, I think he likes me. *shudders* gonk
Oboes, if they are not played by good players, should not be played loudly! domokun But that randomly reminds me of a hilarious oboe story...well, hilarious for our band anyway...the only time our oboes were in tune at the same time on the first try was two years ago, when we had three...and it was at state contest. xd Such a miracle has never happened again. emo

I want an oboe so bad! I can only get one online and it's pay-now deal! (unlike my wood clarinet, which was 850 dollars, monthly rate fee rent-to-keep) So what do you think I should do? >.<
