One more to go. God, just one more. He could take everything-- searing pain that was immeasurably worse than receiving the actual wounds-- over again, only once more. "How...?" His voice slightly strained as he ground his teeth against the pain in his side, Shay stared up at Ceris before continuing in a shaky voice, "How much...longer?" He spat out, resisting the urge to rip the several healers' hands away from him. The mage murmured something about 'soon,' but Haar couldn't be sure of anything anyone was saying right then.
Glancing around slowly, the Fire Commander turned his head to the side, staring hard at the mixed-blood knight. "Where...is--" He stopped for a moment, closing his eyes as he winced, "Everyone?"
Xel frowned a bit before leaning in, waving a hand in front of glassy-red eyes. "I'm right here, Ceris is right here... We're all just right beside ya, okay?" The knight turned to the younger mage as his frown deepened, "Can he even hear me?"
Ceris shook his head, "Not anymore. I know Haar asked me to keep him awake but I just couldn't do it, besides we're done. Once he wakes back up he should be fine, a little tired I'm sure but health-wise he'll be fine," he explained before turning a smile towards his fellow clerics, "Thank you, you don't know how easy you made this for me, I couldn't have asked for better assistance."
Around ten minutes later a sharp knock sounded on the door frame. Everything had since been cleaned and the healers were simply watching the soldier as he slept to make sure he was dreaming peacefully. Xel glanced at the lack of door for a moment before walking over with a lightly concerned expression. He had no clue as to why there would be several fire-guards standing outside, and they looked so gosh darn impatient, too. "Eh, is something wrong?" He asked before glancing back at Ceris with a frown.

Alti looked more than furious -- he looked nearly as angry as he had when he had been arguing (or, really, yelling at) Haar. Why was everything going down in the dumps --- why did he..... It was Haar's fault, anyway. It shouldn't even have to be Alti's problem, and yet for some reason he couldn't help but worry about the stupid idiot ((good with insults, isn't he? 8D;; )). Maybe it was because... because Haar was probably the closest thing Alti had had to a friend since... well, since things started happening. Since people had stopped talking to him.....
But he didn't care about that anymore, he told himself firmly.
So he had basically been banned from the Kingdom a Fire -- the place he now knew that the other, stronger half of his heritage came from -- all because he had.... tried so hard not to show how... how worried he was. And how angry he was, still, that Haar would ever risk his health for the sake of "Alti's pride." He couldn't understand why anyone would... would risk their already fragile state of physical capability simply because some man said that he was useless. Alti was used to those words and they meant nothing to him.
((Will update Helios later, but I don't have time now/don't feel like it.....))

((What a creative name. 8D;;; ))
Now, Red wasn't having the most wonderful of days.... Yes, the festival was nice, but there had been some upset with the prince of his kingdom -- he had left their lodging in as close to a frantic mood as anyone not close to him had ever seen, and quite a few of the Fire guards had been called out to form a search. Fortunately, Red wasn't a guard, nor was he any sort of millitary man, though he had the training and the capacity. It simply hadn't been an option, nor had he wished it be. The thirty-something-year-old Fire nobal rested a tanned head across his equally sun-darkened brow, his eyes scanning the croud. That was when he caught sight of a particular head of deeply purple hair that was so familiar a shade that it took no time for him to realise just who it must be. Not Erika, for she had died long ago, but....
He approached the youth slowly, his choppy black bangs brushing across bright golden orange eyes....
((Dundundun! 8D Haha... just because Alti's been to angry-meany lately... maybe he should be nice for once. 8D;;; ))

[[ALTI'S DAD? O_O
-cough- I mean, hot, fire man. > >;
And I suppose I'll continue Peyton and Cain's little side story.]]
After several minutes of explanations and demonstrations, Cain smiled as he took a step back, "I want you..." He paused a moment as he glanced quickly around the forested area, "--to close your eyes and think of something, anything, that happened before you were taken to the fire kingdom." The black haired knight had already asked this question, and he knew what the younger teen's answer would be but he needed him to be very focused on something other than him. Wading forward in the waist-deep water, Cain placed both hands on the ranger's shoulders.
Peyton cracked open an eye, "E-eh, what are-?" The knight brushed a hand over the blonde's eyes with a grin, "Keep them closed, please," he murmured before resting his hand against the boy's shoulder once more. "Now, keep that thought in your head," he instructed before shoving the teen backwards into the water. Although Peyton was more experienced than...most of the population in forms of close combat, he trusted Cain and when you trust someone you let your guard down and when you do that you're in trouble. Cain had no intention of hurting Peyton, if nothing happened soon he'd let the boy up and he'd look for a memory seal before continuing. Cain was no expert on such detailed seals in general, and knew much less on breaking them, but since Peyton could not remember much before he was taken to the fire nation, of which he was obviously not from, he figured that he did have one hidden somewhere on his body; and with him pleasantly unclothed, that seal would be very easy to find later.
For the moment, he needed to keep Peyton under water, and the boy was not making it very easy.
After the water stilled as well as realizing that Cain was not going to let him drown, the blonde-haired teen peered up through the water before remembering to keep that one thought in his mind, the one about the shore. It didn't take long for his chest to start to sting from lack of oxygen, and it felt like... like when he had extinguished that door. The flame door Haar had put up when Xel's group of bandits had attacked the fire kingdom's capital. It was like some sort of release and before he knew it he was gasping for breath, for air...because he wasn't under water anymore, droplets showering down from the sky, filtering through the leaves. Was it raining? Peyton wasn't sure but couldn't find himself sticking to the question long enough to deduce an answer. Stumbling forward, splashing messily through the water, the blue-eyed teen steadied himself with help from the dark-eyed knight.
"Peyton, that...that was amazing." "You--You're explaining...everything right now," the ranger said with a frown, moving back to a small wall of rocks after regaining his breath.
Cain smiled a little nervously, "I would love to, but first I need you to move away from those rocks very slowly. It seems that last display of magic disturbed a few creatures that live here and it would be best if we left. I wouldn't want them biting you." It took a little more coaxing to get the teen actually moving, but soon enough the two of them were out of the water, soaking wet thanks to Cain's persistence. Thankfully, Peyton could control enough fire to dry the knight off, who halfway through, interrupted the teen's careful ministrations, "C-could you not...l-linger down there so long?"
Blue eyes widened, "Uh, s-sure, sorry 'bout that I just...I just-- Uh, sorry." After a moment or two of awkward staring, the two quickly got dressed completely, save for Peyton's shirt for there was a seal that needed to be found. Cain used the droplets of water still sticking to the boy's skin to locate any sort of magic touching the water. Just as he could find water easily enough, the knight could also feel whatever was in the water in close proximity, which included magic. After almost ten minutes of careful searching, Cain grinned as he laid his hand flat against the teen's abdomen. "Found it. We'll have to find someone who knows how to break intricate seals, but... I found it at least," he murmured as the seal slowly started to appear, as if some invisible hand was painting a beautiful design which stretched further than either would've liked along the teen's stomach. After examining the seal, Cain frowned, "This is not going to be easy to break, it's not...it's not an elemental seal," he mumbled as he stared down at the ink-black markings. Not only would he need high-level magic to begin to even break the seal because of it's complicated markings, the seal was black which meant it was a mixture of several elemental magic. Unlike death seals, which were definitely a black color, they tended to be...very wispy, and this seal was a very thick black with clear markings which led the knight to believe it was made with several elements... The seal was round, and had four peaks trailing out from the circle, each peak with its own special markings within. In the middle of the circle were even more complicated designs... "I didn't think this would be so hard...Do you know anyone who...knows a lot about seals, memory seals specifically?" Cain asked as he helped the boy up.
Peyton shook his head with a troubled expression. "What...do memory seals hide?" He asked, realizing that Cain had been asking so much about his past and telling him about his own because...they must've known each other at one point. Cain explained that the seals could hide memory...but memory encompassed many avenues: thought, use of magic, magic auras, he added that was probably why Ceris couldn't tell what the ranger's nationality was because his aura had also been sealed. "I guess whoever took you to the fire nation needed you to forget everything, bad guys always seem to go over the top when kidnapping princes," he mumbled with a frown.
Peyton blinked several times, pulling his shirt over his newly revealed seal. "What?!"
Cain ruffled the blonde's hair with a grin, "Just kidding, we don't have a monarchy, but your dad sort of does run the island I live on."
"My...dad?"
[[And I'll end that right here.]]

Mint Thimble ((Sounds good to me. 8D )) Seeing the other people of the court all ready to go and waiting was somewhat.... alright, really intimidating. But Rosaline did his best to remain calm and unaffected -- which was to say, his cheeks were much too flushed be any good at anything other than giving away his nerves, but he did manage to contain himself.
But it was much easier to forget his nerves once they had crossed the border into the Kingdom of Light. His expression immidiately brightened and he seemed to have perked up quite a bit. Really, it was just so... bright. He could actually see the sun without the cover of dark, depressing clouds.
"I-it's... it's lovely!" Rosaline replied, face flushed with happiness, his hands raising to cover his mouth in his overly excited state. It was almost too perfect. His first time outside the Kingdom of Death was to the Kingdom of Light -- a most desirable place for a rose -- and with none other than Muertian, who set the seamstress' heart pounding by simply standing there. "R-really... thank you... so much for... inviting me," he mumbled, almost unable to get the words out as he flushed furiously. Muertian's eyebrows raised, surprised. He noted the other's burning cheeks as Rosaline seemed to just gush with happiness. The prince was pleased to make his guest happy .. he just felt there was something he was overlooking about the situation. Why was Rosaline blushing? Sunburn?
"You're welcome, I guess. Thanks for coming," He replied in an undertone before sliding off his horse and handing the reins to a stableboy. As the rest of the group followed suit, Muertian asked, "So, what do you want to do first? Get changed? Or just visit the village?"

((@Tato: 8D;;; Hahaha. Yeah... he's like... thirty-two...
Oh, and by the way, I will have pictures up of a whole bunch of people soon (including people who you may have had trouble visualizing, such as Allora [her appearance, by the way, has been modified since the original design because... at first I wanted her to look more like Alti but, really, this suits her more])..... 8D ))
"I want to... stay outside," Rosaline replied, a light smile tugging the corners of his lips upwards. "I'd love to walk around a bit before anything else," he said brightly. The sun was doing wonders for his attitude -- he immidiately felt some sort of pressure lift from him, making him less... panicky, less fearful. It had been a long carriage ride and his pale limbs were a bit stiff -- but that only made him want to get going more. He would only be in the Kingdom of Light for so long and he had to soak in every ounce of sunlight possible. He tilted his chin up to gaze at the sun, squinting slightly from the unusual brightness.
"It's lovely, isn't it...?" he murmured slowly, that same, oddly peaceful smile on his lips.

(( For refference (mainly for me, since I keep mixing them up! D: It's been a while since I've drawn them...).....
Alright, and so that we're all on the same page, this is to continue the Sayael/Jillian/Dax/Faryn thingus. Basically, after Dax was found by some people, so were the others... and now Faryn and company (excluding Dax, who they will have to somehow find) are in an inn. 8D ))
The village seemed all to normal. Very similar to those back home -- except... devoid of anything magic-made. Everything was made by hand... or by machine. But despite the normal-seeming village, the people seemed a bit... off. For one thing, though none of them did it openly, they all seemed to be stairing at... him. Jillian could feel the hairs on the back of his neck raising, and though he did his best not to show it, he felt quite unnerved. What was more, as the people stared, they seemed to aquire rather... vacant-looking smiles. It was almost as if they stared themselves stupid by looking at the minty-haired youth -- and that was exactly what creeped him out. Perhaps they could.... sense, or something, that he was from there, as they seemed to have no such reaction to Sayael or Faryn.

"He has dark brown hair... um... yea-tall--" Making a gesture with his hand somewhere an inch or so above his own head, Ruehl tried his best to describe the missing commander's appearance to a young, platinum-blonde-haired girl who seemed very lost by the attempt. The royal spun around as the hand of one of his guards clapped on his shoulder.
"We've found him."
At the doorway to an inn, it seemed the entire search squad was gathered to get a glimpse of what was in the back room.
"Excuse me," Ruehl muttered for what seemed the hundreth time that day before hearing an all-too-familiar voice. Reaching the doorway, he found himself staring at the calm, rugged knight. Peridot orbs marked Xel in the doorway... a few scattered clerics... and Ceris perched on a chair... but he didn't see the Commander lying in the room. Looking desperately back to Xel, Ruehl asked, "Where's Shay Haar? I've... we've been..."
"Tracking him like it's hunting season, worried sick. Now is he here so I may finally ditch my brother and enjoy the festival?" Malachai's shrewd voice interrupted. Coming through the guard arranged at the doorway and nudging Ruehl forward into the room, he looked expectantly at Xel.

"Okay, then..." Muertian mildly agreed. Whether it was by habit from holding Treza's hand or confidence .... he didn't know, but somehow his fingers found themselves naturally entangling themselves with his pink-haired guest's. The blonde prince gave the other boy's hand a soft squeeze before guiding them down the main boulevard of shops. "Mmhm. Tad bit bright in my opinion, but it's nice..." he replied.
Gazing at the wares available and banners of shops, he glanced back with a slight smile at Rosaline. "D'you think you'd like something in particular? Or are you more of the browsing aimlessly type?"

Rosaline flushed a delicate pink as he felt the other's fingers fold through his own. Even that small contact was making him crazy happy. He felt, oddly enough, like a giddy school girl accumpanying her crush. Only he was a boy.
"Uhmmm... I suppose I'm a browser," he replied, not quite sure of his answer. After all, apart from fabrics and groceries, he didn't have much shopping experience. Besides which, he didn't have much money to buy anything with, anyway. But he didn't say that, not wanting to appear odd or helpless, in any way, in front of the other.

'There is something wholly wrong about this place' was all the chrome-haired prince could think about. It was a miracle that they even found well... land. Although Sayael had predicted that they would, Sayael had also predicted that they would've sailed to this place, and that definitely did not happen. Faryn had certainly lost most of his faith in that lanky Prince of Darkness. In fact, he was beginning to regret leaving home altogether.
What was he thinking?!?!
Something or other about marrying Jillian should they both ever make it out of this alive or something about love, but he supposed he could've just entered Jillian in some Gladiator arena or something. It was complete nonsense that he put HIS life at stake as well. Of course, the love factor... meh, he'd think about that later. However, while Faryn was oblivious to the effects of the town's people on Jillian, the non-magical atmosphere was having a quite an impact on him. Faryn had never felt so physically worn out from the simplest things of just exploring the town, walking about, climbing steps. It was as if the purity of the magic coursing through his veins now worked destructively in his system. But what bothered Faryn most... was that despite how well he seemed to dress the gash on his forearm from the accident, he wasn't healing.

Alti turned as he felt a hand on his shoulder -- what was it this time? Had Ruehl come back to... what, he didn't know, yell at him some more? Was Haar perhaps dead and the prince had come to blame him?! Well that was just--
Alti turned angrilly, his orange eyes blazing, to find that... it wasn't Ruehl, nor was it any other familiar face, only... those eyes. The teen's brightly contrasting eyes widened, his orbs transfixed by those of the other, his mouth slightly open in surprise.
They stood like that for several moments and then, finally, the older of the two broke the silence. "You are Alti... yes?" he asked hesitantly, his voice slightly out of breath. When the teen nodded, the man took in a deep, slightly shaky breath, a small smile breaking onto his wide lips. He looked like someone who usually smiled quite frequently, but under the current circumstances had found it increasingly hard to do so. "Of... of course you are. You look just like your mother did," he said, his voice slightly husky, but kind all the same.
**
Helios hadn't had much time to witness the goings-on with Alti, the foreign prince, and now this older Fire man. For, as Ruehl had begun his angry speech, the prince of the Light Kingdom had been pulled aside, tugged by a hand of a much smaller, younger teen. They exchanged several words, all of them hurried, Helios' expression gradually changing from his usual smile, to one of horror. Just as quickly as the messenger had arrived, they were gone -- sent off into the palace with the aid of the teen's teleportation skills.
((How mysterious! 8D;; ))

Xel blinked before stepping out of the prince and his 'brother's,' way. Questions such as: Why were you looking for Haar in the first place? or How did you even know he was here? popped into the knight's mind the moment the two and several guards crowded into the small healer's room, but were quickly filed into a place where they would be asked later.
Ceris smiled gently, "Ruehl, I wasn't expecting to see you until later. Haar is fine, we just had to fix a few lingering wounds he received a week or so ago, I'm not sure how long since I didn't get much time to actually speak to him, but he's perfectly fine right now and is simply resting. He should wake up soon enough and I'm sure he'll be well enough to explain and walk around," he murmured with calm composure.
"Have you two eaten anything lately?" He questioned, trying to get the impatient royal's mind off of the sleeping commander.

Scratching at perpetually unruly, green hair, Xel turned calm brown eyes around the room a few times before pressing a hand to his mage's shoulder. "Mm, it's gotten a bit crowded in here and I believe I'm just a bother here, really, so I'll meet you once you're done... at the inn?" He murmured with a hint of a smile as Ceris looked up with a nod, whispering a soft sort of good bye before returning his gaze to the prone soldier before him.
------
Although there was no large reservoir of water anywhere close, it didn't take nearly as long to clamber back to the noisy festival grounds, as Peyton and Cain soon found out as they made their way back to the inn. The blond explained that Xel might know about the memory seal since he seemed to know something about curses... They were similar, but Peyton still had his doubts. Brushing a hand over the flat plane of his abdomen, the blue-eyed teen frowned slightly...he hoped someone in the fire nation would know how to get rid of the thing...with how complicated Cain said it was worried the boy. It was hard to know that you were so close to finding out everything you'd ever wanted...and yet he was very far away from having the seal removed.
"Cain, if you could find Xel and tell him to go to our room I can get us some drinks and maybe a pretzel or something," he mumbled as he pulled out a handful of change from his pocket. Looking up at the brown-eyed teen, the boy smiled, "Thanks for...for helping me with all of this," he murmured as he hooked a few fingers around the knight's wrist as they reached the edge of the festival's borders. "You didn't have to come...all the way to the fire kingdom and find me and you...you just didn't have to do any of this but I'm glad you did. I'm happy to know that I really do belong somewhere," he added in a softer tone, bright eyes skimming along the grassy ground.
"As a matter of fact, I did have to fine you, if only for my own sanity," Cain said with a grin before slipping a hand along the teen's back. "And the pretzel sounds lovely," he added with a laugh as he let his hand fall back to his side as they finally reached the fair grounds. "I'll see you in a little while then? As soon as I find Xel I'll bring him back to the room."
----
As promised, Cain did not take much time at all in finding the scraggly-looking knight, and just as Peyton promised, there were two cold bottles of some sort of fizzy drink in their room as well as a pretzel and as an added bonus. a rather miserable-looking chocolate chip cookie. "We can give that to Xel, he'll eat anything," Peyton said with a laugh as he handed half of the salted pretzel to the knight, who in turn gave the blond a wrinkled frown, "Are you sure you don't want to eat all of it? You're...really skinny," Cain mumbled as he hesitantly took the food offered.
Peyton's eyes narrowed a bit as he gave the teen a grim look, "And you failed to mention this when I was naked?"
"I was...distracted."
Peyton's frown turned into something much more smug as he continued, "When's Xel supposed to get here, anyway?" The door burst open soon after the ranger's comment, as Xel gave the two a low, rather mocking, bow. After being offered the cookie that Peyton would have otherwise eaten, since he had something of a sweet tooth, but it was just so pathetic looking... Xel turned dark eyes towards the blond "So, kiddo, why did you want to see me, anyway?" He asked as brushed crumbs from the scrappy remains of a bad shave. Peyton in turn started to undo his shirt in order to show the mixed blood knight the large seal.
Xel frowned a bit, searching both teens' faces before grimacing further, "Look, Peyton, I'm flattered...really, but I am rather fond of a certain mage and I don't think I could-- could ever... Besides, you're what, ten years younger than me?" Shifting uncomfortably, the knight's expression faded as the memory block was revealed as Peyton shrugged off his shirt.
"I'm not here to seduce you Xel, I need to get this damn seal off of me. Do you know anything about them? Or how it could be broken?"
Xel frowned as he turned to take a better look at the seal. "Hm, looks complicated. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to break anything except this part," he explained as he ran a finger down one of the peaks. "If you didn't already notice, all of these triangle-looking parts have a military insignia of a different kingdom. There's the ice, fire, earth, and dark symbols. Sort of weird that the fire kingdom's part of the seal would have the commander-symbol... Anyway, I could break the earth seal, but not in the light kingdom, my ice magic is rather pathetic here," he murmured as he demonstrated. "Ice cubes is all you'll be getting out of me, here," he added with a miserable grin. "Sorry, kiddo. I'm sure you could get Ruehl, Haar or Malachai to break-- Well, maybe not Haar or Ruehl since one is out cold and the other is too scatter-brained to care... Maybe Malachai could break the ice seal for you. Ceris could obviously break the darkness part of the seal, but the other's will have to wait... When the heck did you get this seal placed on you anyway?"
"It's been there, hidden apparently, since I was brought to the fire kingdom," Peyton murmured before sitting at the end of his bed, blue eyes set on the wooden floor of the room.
[[I figured to break the seal you'd need to use the opposite sort of magic. Break the earth with ice or fire for that matter, fire with ice, ice with fire or light, and then darkness with light. Also, about the military insignia's...Hmm, I HIGHLY doubt any of you realized, but on many of the pictures of Haar that I draw he usually has a little flame-looking mark on either his clothes or if he's not wearing a shirt, it's on his shoulder. <:]]

[[<3 n___n sorry it took a bit. & Xel makes me laugh xDD-- 'fond of certain mage--' Geez. How old is Xel, anyway?]] As he neared Ceris, bright green eyes fell down to see a somewhat concealed bed and a dark mop of hair upon a pillow behind the mage. Words of reassurance seemed to wash over him... but he barely understood their meaning. The red-haired royal would have very much liked to push past Ceris and checked Shay's breathing himself, but in a room of subjects to whom he'd already acted oddly toward, he forced himself to clear his throat and raise his gaze to the cleric. "Thank you..Ceris. Actually, no, I-I haven't. I just... rested through the early hour so I thought I might wait until dinner," he replied, deliberately trying to hold Ceris's gaze rather than looking behind him.
Turning on his heel he was going to ask Malachai if the other wanted to eat as well-- only to find his adopted brother had disappeared. Ruehl's brow furrowed slightly. "I guess he really wanted to go see the festival... really subtle, that one..." the prince added in an undertone. Looking to the guards still somewhat grouped about the doorway, he offered a slight smile, "Thank you. I appreciate all your efforts in finding the Commander. Please-- go enjoy yourselves."
With the search party disbanded, as well as Xel and Malachai finding the room too stuffy for their tastes, the fire prince felt suddenly awkward. It'd been such a rash decision for him to get guards and Malachai and search for the Commander over...a dream. A bad dream. A dream he couldn't even really remember but bits and pieces of now... He swallowed an uncomfortable lump in his throat thinking about his parent's reaction to his lack of control in the circumstances. Justifiably, Shay Haar had been found injured... but Ruehl hardly thought his parents might view it in such a light. Nontheless, all he wanted to inquire after was the extent of injuries and wait.
He wanted a lot of things. To not be entirely ungrateful for the knowledge that Haar was healing and alive, though, he smiled at Ceris and continued, "I can imagine healing might make you quite drained and hungry, though, Ceris. I'd be glad to run out and bring back some food for you and the other clerics. I'll pick something up to tie me over until dinner, too. Sound good?"
