I have no idea how to re-insert Ashton into the story. Save me! xD

P.S. Eddie's death in the Dark Tower books was so unneeded ;_; He was totally my favorite character.

And the last book... homan, what a... what an ending.

One of my best friends--who ironically was the one I just saw X-3 with--reads the Dark Tower series. I..never got into it though.

I see the purpose of the ending... but as a reader, I didn't like it. I mean, the whole point of the Dark Tower really was about the journey... so King's real ending would have been a good one. But of course, he is right: readers wanted a definate answer. I think the definate answer was kind of a kick in the groin ending; although, I see the point. Roland wasn't changing in a world that was changing, and until he could learn to change, he was damned to walk that same path again.

I've wanted to use literary references in my children's name but my husband won't let me do it smile I've often wanted to use Siona, Paul or Leto (homage to Dune series), Laren (homage to Star Trek), Alaine, Jake or Roland (homage to Dark Tower), Leia and Luke (duh)... but if we ever get to use Elizabeth I will secretly know that is my X-Men reference for Psylocke wink
-----------
Haha, I think Julia would win that fight. Even Penance shudders at the magnitude of Julia's fire power.
-----------
Can't wait to see X3... only a day away... only one more day.

All students are camping in the Danger Room (I haven't read the posts yet to see if you've posted already) and Logan is ready to brief them on their next mission. So you can insert Ashton there. He also would be aware that he is on the Green Team since teams were annouced earlier n the plot.

I could see Roland's steadfastness (or stubborn-a**-itude, if we must avoid euphemisms) as a point of contention for the wheel that is Ka, but I think the main point is that he left behind the Horn of Eld. He had Excalibur, in the form of his trusty revolvers, but the Horn was key. Anyone could've held the guns and gotten in, but it's the Horn that says "Hey! Here I am, descended from the line of Arthur Eld. Stand wide the door, and let Roland son of Steven within. And no funny business!" But leaving the Horn may also have been Ka.

Here are a few things the ending made me wonder:
1) Does Roland have all his fingers when he walks through the final door?
2) Can the tower change history, in order for its purpose to be served (as seen in Roland having the Horn again at the moment of his 'rewind')?
3) If Roland finishes his journey the right way this time, where does that door lead, and what lives in that room?

If I don't get these questions answered, and soon, I may claim to hear Ves' Ka-Gan myself and write a crappy fan-ending.

I saw X-3 at the midnight screening for the day it came out and i have to say this:

It was good, but it wasn't.

Why?Well, i tell people that the more you know about major points in the marvel world, the more gaping problems you see. But if you look at it from a unconnected point to the comics, if f*ing ruled, well, with the exception of cutting Nightcrawler after having casted him perfectly in X-2. (stupid wankers)

I didn't read the article about the secret that took place after the credits, I only heard to stay up until the credits to see that last little clifthanger with our main bad boy, and you who have seen it will know what I mean.

Could someone pm me the thing that happened after the credits? I don't want to go see the movie again until I can see it with one of my friends.

Well guys, I'm going to be gone until Monday night, since I have to make some progress on my undergrad thesis if I wish to graduate. This whole business about Stephen King's Dark Tower series: I've never read it, but I've heard it was interesting. This might be common knowledge, but it is based on Robert Browning's "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came," a poem written in the mid 18th C. Anyway, the poem is like one of my favorite poems of all time, though I hear King deviates quite a bit from it (which is understandable considering the brevity of the poem vs. the length of his book series). I just thought I'd throw that out there in case any of you wanted to read it. It is truly amazing.

(P.S)- Derrik, if you want to just go on like we already set the tent up and stuff, that is ok. I'll see you guys lata'!

oooh, yummy. Never was a fan of fish though, Not really. I don't like the after taste.
PostPosted: Sat May 27, 2006 7:28 pm

xd not all fish ahs an after taste and that's why there's ginger. Ginger helps clense the pallet and renew the freshness so you get the different flavors everytime.

3nodding

but yeah I know lots of people who don't like fish.

I'm not one for Sushi. but I love rice cakes. When my friend brought seven bags of Rice Cakes to school, I am proud to say 4 of them went to mee and none of mine left the school uneaten

Actually, i should say none left my 10 minute launch period uneaten whee

They were wounderful. Yea, and she still hites me for not saving her any. It was for a class. I'd do it again too! Them Rice Cakes were good!
