Once again, Honey-Shade broke the mood. Apparently, she seemed quite capable of pulling her size in to get into the shop, and simply to begin prodding Amatha's hat. Nothing better than a bouncy witch hat. Nothing. Her pupils began to widen, being pulled in by the boing. She had a talent for disregarding the feel of a room, a trademark of the animal.
Mina walked down the street holding a couple bags of things she had bought, most of which was the make up she wore to cover her scars on stage. As she passed a news stand she saw a magazine about popular music and on the cover was Mi, her alter ego, with the headline "Idol runs out on event!" She sighed heavily. Of course she had returned and explained what had happened to her manager and he had understood, but that unfortunately led to tighter security for her around her idol life. He had wanted to put her under guard at all times but Mina told him that she wanted to keep her real life separate from the public and guards would only draw attention to her. Though she did have the feeling her manager had sent someone to watch her from a distance but still it was better than a platoon of men in black suits.

Looking up from their embrace, partly because of the wyvern's tugging and prodding, Xuza saw someone over her shoulder she thought she'd never see again. Mina.
"Mina! Come on!" Xuza grabbed Amatha's hand and rushed out of the glass doors (not breaking them!) to the sidewalk to intercept the idol.
"Mina! Oh my god you're a ok!" Tears were streaming down her face as she hugged Mina. Forget the scrambler or the security gorillas.
"Mina, meet my long lost cousin Amatha. Amatha, this is Mina. She's amazing, remember that now."

"Erm yes I'm okay." She felt a bit confused by Xuza's actions. It hadn't been that long since they had been in the nurses office together and that had only been there first meeting so Mina was a little surprised at Xuza's sudden appearance and hug. Thankfully her therapy had suppressed her Scramble Wavelength to almost nothing. When Xuza introduced her cousin she blushed a little, she was always nervous around new people. "It's nice to meet you." She then turned her attention to Xuza and looked rather worried. "Xuza are you okay, you're crying?"
Her eyes followed the hat, though her body didn't quite follow as Xuza led Amantha out to meet Mina. The beast seemed to be in a docile state, relaxed from seeing the bouncy hat, but it quickly changed as the flash of a blade came ran across her dark, feathered face. "I.... I'm your biggest... fan...." A voice rumbled out from a portly man, hat tipped down with a faint smell of old tacos wafting off of him. Honey-shade stepped in decisively, flipping forward from inside the shop and turning into a blade into the process. Her edge slid through the glass without shattering it, slipping through as if she went through cloth. But then her sharp edge went away again as she came into vicinity of the stalker, turning back into her beastly shape, fully sized to a massive intimidating mountain of a wyvern before directly pinning him to the ground. Then she let out a single, powerful roar into his face, shattering the glass of the nearby buildings. After she was done she stepped off the man, who was now fainted, and began pawing Amatha's hat again.

"What? Oh, yeah, I'm fine." Xuza was all tingly and emotional now (You're welcome, shipping community). She really didn't know how to even tell Mina how much she missed her, let alone how to tell her about the events of the next twenty years.
"...I--ok, that's a lie. Takeshi and I... We thought we'd lost you." Might as well start if you're going to get it done. Now the tears were more sad than glad.
"When we got called out to that mission...": Here she related the tale of the past few days they'd had to Mina in some detail. When she came to the part Future Takeshi had told the about, she hesitated.
"Paradox and some of her cronies... Let's just say the future is missing a star." Before Mina could see her cry again she pulled her in close. "That's why we had to make it back, so we could stop that from happening. If Paradox or anyone else wants to take you from us, they're going to have to go through all of us." Then she noticed what she'd said.
"We've got a team going, just like the future said we would, but this time we know what's going to happen. We'll see it coming a mile away!"
"So how 'bout it? We'd love to have you with u--look out!" All she saw was a shadow leaping out, seemingly at Mina. Before she act the wyvern had subdued a creepy fan. Again, forget the security gorillas.
"Whoa... see? We've got your back. Right boy?" She petted the wyvern's nose. Takeshi wasn't wrong about its cuteness.

Mina was scared out of her wits by the blade and then further when it turned into a huge monster. She hid behind Xuza and noticed she didn't seem that bothered by it. Mina crept out from behind her and saw the creature playing with Amatha's hat, which told her it was at least docile.
Returning her attention to Xuza Mina listened to her story about the future. Mina wasn't sure what to believe. Was it really possible to travel through time? When Xuza pulled her in again Mina didn't know what to say. However as she finished speaking Mina thought about something she had mentioned and broke away. "Wait, what do you mean "missing a star"? And stop what from happening?"

"I don't know how to say this, but..." She really didn't. For someone who didn't go with them, this whole story would be gibberish.
"In the future... You aren't there." The only way was the blunt way. Xuza clenched her fist. "Somewhere along the line you're killed by a witch. I tried to stop it. The future Takeshi said I fought the hardest, but in the end I could do nothing to save you. Afterward, I left in a frenzy to find Paradox, and rarely saw Takeshi or anyone else after." She almost couldn't stand, looking like a wilted flower.
"But that's not going to happen this time!" She pulled herself up and looked Mina dead in the face. Sure, she didn't know her that well, but if she had to watch Paradox's killing continue she would end up broken like she was in the future.

"You...You can't be serious. This is a joke right?" Mina tried to smile but somewhere inside her she could tell Xuza was telling the truth and yet she refused to believe it. "If this is supposed to be funny it's in poor taste." Despite her relatively calm expression there were a few hints of worry on her face.

Right there and then, proving to be the most anti-climatic being here, Honey-Shade popped up behind Mina and stole her hat. It appeared that this creature had no qualms about the future.
Mina had no idea how to react to this. It wasn't a common thing for people to hear how they were going to die. All Mina knew was that she was terrified by the prospect. Turning away she covered her mouth as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Ugh, seriously!" Xuza used her spatial conversion to snatch the hat out of Honey's clutches. She embraced Mina and put her hat back on her.
"Hey... That's not going to happen this time. Ok? We won't let it." All she could do was comfort Mina as she dealt with this.

And... just like that, Honey-shade noticed Mina's hat back on her head, and began thinking her tears were her fault. Unaware of what was happening, she did all that she could and wrapped her body around Mina's legs in a attempt to make her feel safe.
Without any warning Mina pushed away from Xuza, almost tripping over the wyvern, turned around sharply and slapped her. This was totally not like her usual self. Mina had never struck anyone before. She was shaking all over and crying a lot. "How do you know? You just told me I die because you can't save me. What makes you think any of that will change?" Mina was more scared than angry and it showed. Gripping her tremlbling hand Mina held it close to her chest and hung her head. "I... I don't want to die..."
