"Eventually," Lin giggled, "And then we got lost."

Because of course their first thought was shelter, they had no idea where they were going.

"If it weren't for your stones, we would have taken a long while to get back..."

If not longer.

Miyuki tried giving Haldia piles of snow, even though she didn't know what to do with it.

"I would have figured out where we were eventually," Earendil protested, his cheeks turning pink with embarrassment. "It just would have taken longer, that's all."

He was a cartographer by trade, after all.

Haldia grinned at Miyuki and piled the snow up into a hill. "We can make a tower," she said excitedly, not really caring that she probably wouldn't be able to do a good job of it, never having seen a tower up close or really knowing what it looked like. Still, it was interesting to be able to make shapes with the snow. After all, that was what she was waiting around for!

Lin giggled and put a hand on Earendil's arm, "I know you would have..."

She must be getting use to seeing Earendil flustered because it amused her for some reason.

Miyuki looked at Haldia blankly having not understood a word of what she just said, but that was fine seeing as Miyuki was still having trouble understanding English.

Earendil smiled down at Lin, though with her hand on his arm, his blush didn't go away.

"You know," he murmured softly, rubbing the back of his head self-consciously, "talking about that ... makes me wonder if we can really still travel like that. I mean ... would you still travel with Miyuki? I know we've already come here and gone to the Eastland with her, but I mean ... really travel, to places neither of us have been before, out ... out on the ocean ..."

"Amalirahc has been out on the ocean, granted it wasn't out of choice," Lin replied, "And Miyuki will be much older going back on a ship than when he got off of one."

She looked back at Miyuki and smiled, at first she hadn't been sure if she had wanted to travel with a child, and she knew there were places she could not go to at the moment. Like Amon Darthir for example, but she knew Kaito had a good point about stage growing children, and Miyuki was certainly a stage growing child.

Miyuki for her part was happily piling on the snow even if she had no idea what she was doing. It involved gathering up snow and then dumping it on what appeared to be a possible growing tower.

"Besides, who knows how old she'll be once we get back on a boat," Lin added.

Earendil raised one eyebrow. "So ... that's a yes, we're going to keep traveling?" he asked.

Sometimes he really had no idea what she was trying to say. It almost sounded as if she was talking more to herself.

Haldia helped pile the snow until was a good tall pile, and then she started to pack it together to make it strong.

"Pack it well," she grinned at Miyuki, using her hands to pack it tight.

Lin laughed at that, "Yes, yes to keep traveling. Miyuki will be fine."

Besides she was really certain that Miyuki by the time they managed to see the Westland and Northland would be more than ready to sail.

Miyuki blinked and watched Haldia, and tried patting it herself, which for a child equaled to whacking the parts of loose snow.

Earendil chuckled, grinning widely. He was glad to hear that. He reached around Lin with one arm and hugged her tightly.

"I'm glad," he smiled warmly down at her.

Haldia giggled at Miyuki and kept packing the snow tighter. Even if they didn't make anything in particular, it was fun.

The front door of the house opened again, and Amalirahc charged out and flopped face first into the snow. He got up, giggling, and charged again towards Miyuki and Haldia, arms wide and hollering loudly.

Leyenda and Kelirahc were not far behind him. Kelirahc was looking at the falling snow in awe, but Leyenda hurried after Amalirahc so that he wouldn't get too far away.

"There's so much of it," Kelirahc said in amazement, moving to stand with Lin and Earendil.

Lin giggled, she had to admit it must be awing to see all that snow for the first time. To imagine it would be solid enough to build up.

"It's amazing isn't it?" Lin looked out to see Miyuki staring at Amalirahc.

Amalirahc giggled and tripped just as he reached Haldia and Miyuki, and he fell right on top of their tower, flattening it and leaving an imprint of his hands.

"Hah!" he squealed, laughing as he clambered back to his feet.

Haldia giggled and helped him up.

Earendil chuckled. "I have to say, it does look like fun," he grinned. He let out a yelp as he was suddenly hit on the side of the face with a snowball - more out of surprise than pain. "What-"

Leyenda was standing a little ways away from them now, laughing and packing another snowball in her hands. "I've always wanted to do that!" she grinned at him. She threw another one, and this time Earendil ducked - which made Lin the new target.

If only Leyenda had aimed for Earendil's chest or somewhere higher, with their height difference the snowball would have gone over her head. Instead it hit Lin's head as she turned to avoid a snowball in the face.

"Leyenda...."

Miyuki pouted, while she didn't understand what she and Haldia were making she did understand they had been making something... until Amalirahc fell on it.

Leyenda giggled. "Aw, come on, Lin," she grinned. "Have some fun with it!"

Meanwhile, Earendil had been making a snowball of his own, and just as Leyenda finished speaking he launched it at her. She held up one hand to block it, and it smashed against her palm.

Amalirahc giggled and Miyuki and scooped up some snow, holding it out to her.

"I' c'eam!" he told her brightly, remembering the cold substance they'd had a while ago. "Nummy!" He licked it a bit, and shivered. "Es code!"

Lin rolled her eyes, even though she hadn't been so surprised. It was a pity she had taken her eyes off of Miyuki.

Miyuki's brain was furiously at work, her tail was swishing from side to side. Somewhere in that little girl's head something clicked. Years from now she could never explain it, if she remembered it. Some would blame her kitsune side, for whatever the reason she gathered up a pile of snow in her hands, and dumped it on Amalirahc's head as if this was a completely normal thing.
PostPosted: Fri Apr 02, 2010 1:57 pm

For a moment Amalirahc just stared at Miyuki in shock, but as the snow began to melt and trickle down his neck and back, he sat down in the snow, turned his face towards the sky, and let out a blood-curdling shriek.

Haldia unfortunately had also been looking away, but at the shriek she turned back quickly and picked up Amalirahc, dusting the snow off his head. Kelirahc was there in a second to gather up his son, and Leyenda was only a few steps behind.

"What happened?" Earendil blinked, looking at the sight.

"Miyuki," Haldia said simply, though she looked confused. "I don't know why ..."

"Miyuki!"

It didn't take a genius to figure out what had happened, Miyuki had been the cause and it involved putting snow on top of Amalirahc. She picked Miyuki and made the little girl look at her.

"That was a bad thing," she told Miyuki firmly not at all happy, "No, you don't do that."

Miyuki looked away, looking back at what remained of the snow tower. She of course didn't understand why it was so bad.

Lin sighed, "Come on, a time out for you."

Lin only had the bare inklings what at time out was, it was pretty much to bore a child to death so they wouldn't do the same thing again. She and no one she knew ever had a time out before.
