Lin grinned at Earendil before using his help to get up onto the roc. Even with the roc laying low it wasn't like climbing on would be easy for her.

"Thanks,"
she murmured to him.

Earendil smiled warmly at Lin. "Always welcome," he replied, climbing up carefully after her. He settled in behind her, then reached down to help Haldia up. Soon all three of them were on the roc's back, and without Haldia needing to speak to the roc, it spread its wings and leapt into the air.

Earendil closed his eyes gently and smiled as the air whipped past them. It was a much smoother ride than Skyel had been, and without the constant up and down motions. He was comfortable with this, even without being harnessed on.

Feeling the wind rush past her Lin had to admit Earendil was right. Flying on a roc was nothing like flying on a spirit roc. It felt calmer and there was certainly less of a need to be strapped in.

"Hmm... this is nice...." Lin murmured.

"Ah, right," Earendil grinned at Lin. "You've never ridden Rhiel before."

He chuckled softly. "It's so much better than riding Skyel. Smoother. It doesn't make me feel sick in the least. This way, I can enjoy flying. Just like on Kelirahc's dragon, I like flying on it as well. But the rocs here ... I don't know why, I just can't handle it."

They soared towards the island and over the castle, heading down the hillside towards the city.

"Probably all the movement," Lin murmured in return.

It would be impossible to ride a bird normally like this, not with all that movement. At least as far as she knew, rocs as far as she knew didn't exist anywhere else, and generally she doubted they were kind enough to let people ride on them.

"Probably," Earendil agreed. He turned to Haldia and pointed at the area between the city and the wall. "Best land there, there won't be room in the city."

Haldia nodded. "It does look a bit crowded from here," she agreed. She nudged Rhiel gently, and the roc slowly began to circle towards the ground, wings outstretched in a glide.

Lin nodded, "There's a lot of people there...."

In fact they would have to expand eventually Lin did hope things would turn out alright for them once it was time to expand.

Rhiel landed just outside the city walls, and Haldia slid off her back and spoke quietly to her as Earendil followed her to the ground. Then he turned and held his hands up to Lin to help her down.

"Sure is faster than walking," he quipped with a grin.

Taking his hands Lin slid down not wanting to jump even though really with her wings jumping wouldn't have been a problem. Landing with both feet on the ground she looked up at him and chuckled a bit.

"No surprise there,"
Lin replied, "Shall we?"

Earendil chuckled softly and turned to Haldia. "Ready?"

Haldia reached into the neck of her shirt and touched her mark again, and Rhiel vanished in a sparkle of light.

"As ready as I'll ever be," she replied quietly, her voice steeled with determination.

Earendil nodded and smiled encouragingly at her. "Well, let's go. Putting it off any longer isn't going to help at all."

Lin smiled and motioned for Haldia to follow, "We'll stick close to each other."

She grinned and took Haldia's hand before leading along.

"We're headed to the tannery right?"

Earendil nodded, linking arms with Haldia so that she wouldn't be able to run away or lag behind. "I'm looking forward to meeting Artemis's mother," he said warmly. "He's a good boy, he must have been raised well, and to me that says he must have a good mother. Especially if she's leaving him in charge of the shop on his own at such a young age."

Haldia listened in, curious but not wanting to say anything. She didn't know what questions to ask anyways, so to her it would be much simpler just to listen and find things out that way.

Lin nodded at this, "He was quite professional about it all."

Really she couldn't imagine anyone trusting a child that young to run a shop back home (people like her didn't count since she was almost the same age as the boy).

"I wonder though," Earendil mused as they entered the city, "What his guideline was for what items he could take in return. I mean, how did he judge their value?"

After all, the items' values changed from one culture to another.

"I don't know," Lin replied, "I think for the things I have in case I need to trade, I'm more banking on the fact they're unique than what they're made out of. Quite frankly as far as I know, whatever can be found here can be found somewhere else in Gaia and the other way around... baring certain exceptions such as Elf Stones, or Littinum. Maybe not to the same quality.... but in raw goods it's not different."

As proven with the tannery, honestly Gaia's trading hub may be great but it had nothing on these small shops here.

"I mean, I finally took a good look at what Dad and Vincent packed away, they're all things whether in theme or design unique to my father's people. Like the jade bracelet, all little girls are supposed to have a jade bracelet, except I'm not allowed to wear mine except on special occasions because Dad said I'm more likely break mine."
