"Just let me give you everything, as I desire..."

Jessie looked at her sadly as she walked away. Yes... the revelations. They didn't come as an entire surprise to him - he knew Coline had a dreadfully poor opinion of herself. But as an orphan... the life she must've had to endure was unimaginable.

It doesn't matter what you might have been told through your life. You'll always be worth something to me.

He might have said that - but was that really the kind of reassurance she wanted from him? Always the worry - the fear of pressing her too hard, too fast. He then pondered explaining Cressa's particular magical talents and how exactly she could have known what she did when Coline had told no one, even him. In the end, however, he said nothing, and the silence just spiralled on as she walked away.

He did manage to smile through his sadness when she turned back to him, her own sweet face creased with mirth and gratitude.

"It was pennies to me, honestly," he said carelessly, then realised that it might have been a mistake "Th-that is... more of a testament to my own vast accumulation than how much I'm willing to spend on you. In fact... perhaps next time, then, I'll lay off buying things that take up valuable space and just - hmmm."

He stepped towards her and absently wrapped an arm around her shoulder, quicly changing the subject. "Yes... how are we meant to get these out of here, anyway? And where are we going to keep them? I'll take some at my house, of course. And you mentioned Lorika earlier...?"

"...And believe me when I say that I love you."

Meta started slightly. Wow, this girl was really under some stress.
"Really, it's okay, you're not in the way. Lorika-sama seems not to eat much, so really, I have to remind her!" Meta grinned widely, but her face fell as she said, "I'm sprry you're so far away from your home. I really know what that feels like. I'm used to snow all the time, and we only had that one snowfall last Tuesday. It makes this winter coat downright stifling!" she laughed. "Maybe you should ask Panda-sama for some help with your dimension-travelling problems!"

She stopped herself for a moment. "Oh, I don't believe I've introduced myself. I'm Mettanere Burobel, of the Kahrpoh Khang clan. Please call me Meta. May I ask your name?"

I don't like to think of myself as "evil," as such...

The man's probing lips upon her own were a very welcome intrusion. Her hands found their way to the back of his neck, fingers reaching up into his hair, as she held him in a fast-deepening tangle of limbs and tongues. His own hands explored the flesh of her bare thighs and buttocks beneath the robes in a manner so pleasing she soon found herself gasping.

"Bel'la yah," she breathed, arm slung around his neck "Finally, a surface man who knows what the ******** he's meant to be doing."

His trousers were soon missing in action. Her own robes fell from her shoulders in an almost grateful fashion, and she lifted herself artfully off the ground, legs wrapping around his waist like a vice. She felt his fingers fiddle for the clasp of her bra and hissed, biting the soft patch of shoulder she'd been working on at the time. However, as things continued it became apparent that he was worthy of the honour, and the vast, black piece of underwear joined her robes on the grass.

And if I, this humble narrator, choose to divulge any further information I may found myself fed to the cave-rats bit by excruciating piece.

...I much prefer the term "morally challenged."

Feline relaxed a bit when the cat woman, Meta, smiled. She seemed like a nice caring person and Feline was just happy to not have anymore stress added to her plate.

While she was grateful for the sympathy, this land of constant snow Meta spoke of seemed like a horror to Feline. She was still getting used to the idea of cold water falling from the sky occasionally, the thought of living in a place that was permanently cold in this manner was alien to her.

Feline was shivering from that thought when the mention of Panda helping her caused her to blush with outright embarrassment. No one else knew of her escapades in the study, that had been gratefully kept quiet, but it was still a source of deep embarrassment for Feline.

I should never have been caught.
Oh how her magical peers would laugh in derision to see how low she had been brought.

"I, well, I." she stuttered, "I don't know if that would be a good thing. The Professor doesn't seem to want to be disturbed too much now." It was a lame excuse, but it was all she could come up with at the moment, her mind was still on the situation of the caged tiger man below.

"Everyone has been calling me Feline. I guess I should figure out something else for people to call me if I am stuck here much longer, but Feline works for the moment. It is nice to meet you."
She bowed her head slightly in Meta's direction.

Meta raised an eyebrow when Feline began to shiver.
"Nice to meetcha too~. Really, snow isn't so bad. It can actually be quite warm if you build your shelter right, and it's quite fun to wake up buried in a drift, as long as you know how to get out quickly," she grinned toothily.

However, noticing that Feline only shivered further, she continued on a different topic. "I'll go have a talk with Panda-sama; methinks he needs a little chocolate. D'you have chocolate in your... wherever it is you come from?"

Rika giggled as the barley was pecked from her hands by the golden birds. Their breaks were like dozens of paperclips pinching at her skin. It was a very comforting sensation for her. It reminded her of home.

She didn't know how long she'd been out there with the birds, and it was for that precise reason she worried. She couldn't keep on losing track of time. She had duties to attend to.

She left the coop, planning her afternoon ahead. It was past lunch, wasn't it? Panda might be expecting her any time now. With that thought, she picked up the pace a little, heading back to her room with a basket of eggs in hand. She'd drop off her things, and then head to the kitchens to deliver the eggs and pick up a meal for herself and the stern Professor...

Imagine her surprise to find the Order's two resident catgirls waiting outside her door. She regarded them pleasantly, smiling her customary smile. "Good day, Meta, Feline. What can I do for you two? Meta, would you like these eggs now, or shall I drop them off later?"

...I have the receipts to prove it.

Feline was mulling this concept of chocolate over in her head when Lorika finally made her appearance, not from the door she had been staring so intently at, but rather from behind her.

This is the second time today that someone has snuck up behind me. I really need to not lose my vigilance and awareness of the world around me when I worry.
Feline thought sharply at herself.

Her instructors had taught her that this was a matter of life and death. As far as they would be concerned she died two times today, whether it actually happened or not.

She approached Lorika as calmly as she could manage and said with a bow, "I hate to trouble you, but I would like to speak with you about matters concerning your," She paused here trying to figure out the best wording, she settled on, "guest in the basement."

Meta grinned and turned around when she saw the door open behind her.
"Lorika-sama! Good... afternoon, actually. I'd like the eggs now, if you'd be so kind. And would you like a little something to nom on?" Meta smiled, proffering her platter.

She raised an eyebrow when Feline said her piece. "Ooh, guest? What're they like~?"

Lorika looked at the woman kindly. "The tiger man. It was you who brought him back, wasn't it? What is it that you need to know?"

Lorika herself had felt pity for the wounded creature she'd bathed in healing power upon his arrival. That pity, however, was tinged by the stories that had led to his incarceration. Not to be trusted. A shapeshifter. A demon. An outsider. A maneater. Better to be disposed of.

She didn't like to believe hearsay, but every time she'd attempted to talk to the man herself he'd given a violent surge that almost led to Jessie slicing the tiger's arm off during her second visit to the cell, so aggressively did he lunge through the bars to claw at her throat. She hadn't visited the creature since. But... Feline was, well, feline. Perhaps she knew more about him. Perhaps he was kin to her.

Edit: She gratefully accepted a tidbit from the selection, handing the basket over as if in exchange. "Thank you, Metanere. Hard at work as always, I see."

...I have the receipts to prove it.

Coline eyed him suspiciously as he trailed off. Just what? When she was about to tell him not to trouble himself with buying her any more things--goodness, he's given her far far far more than enough already--the drow spoke again.

She inclined herself closer towards him as he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, brow furrowed and lips pursed as she gazed upon the pile. "That's a very good question..." Or series of questions rather, but she didn't bother correcting herself. Exactly how, where, and-- "Lorika?" she echoed, the wrinkle on her brow only deepening in confusion. "The High Priestess? I don't recall mentioning anything regarding the good Pries... tess."

Her body tensed. Yes, she remembered now.

"Ah, I'm sorry. I meant... someone else." she said, almost hesitantly. "Priestess Eurydice... I met her during the war. She offered me a place to stay while I'm here, but I usually just stay in my tent. All this isn't going to fit into my tent though, is it? Ahah..." shakily tucking a few strands of hair to the back of her ear, she cleared her throat. "A-Anyway, I'll try to fit as much as I can into my room, and into my tent as well, though I'm afraid that's not going to be a lot..." she met Jessie's gaze with an embarrassed grin. "I'm really sorry, but apart from those two places, I really have nowhere else to keep all this."

Meta blushed very lightly. "Meh, I'm a lazy slacker, I just haven't had a chance to show you yet! Waitasec, what's this about a tiger man?" she paused for a moment, then said, ever vigilant for her job, "Has this guy been fed lately?"

Feline felt emboldened by Lorka's kind look and pulled herself up straight and proud.

"I've been observing him for the past week High Priestess. He finally spoke to me today."
She started off looking earnestly at Lorika.

"He has been in a terrible angry confusion. Lost is the best way I can put it, in the same way that I am lost here too." her eyes glinted with a touch of the deep sorrow she still felt at the loss of her homeland but she kept herself together.

"He wishes to know where his gear and sword is. I told him that I might be able to get him his gear so that he could be properly clothed, but that anything else would rely upon a hearing by you." Feline's passion for the cause welled up in her, she rashly gave into it and grabbed Lorika's hand.

"Please High Priestess. Please at least give him back his dignity by clothing him." She pleaded. "And I beg of you to give him a proper hearing where you can make a fully informed decision as to whether he should be caged for life."

Feline realized what an emotional mess of herself she was making and pulled back into the studied calm that had been beat into her as a child in line for the leadership of her land.

Bowing her head she addressed Lorika again, "He is a proud warrior and deserves to be treated as such. Confusion and hurt can cause all of us to act irrationally. All I can hope is that you give him a chance to show you who he truly is...one way or another."

"Oh, okay then," Alexi replied. "Still, don't you think we should do something? I keep hearing commotion from other areas of the temple...I've got a bad feeling...."

Do I control the blades in my hands?

They lay together in the bed of moss and leaves for what seemed like hours, just gazing into one another. His armor was neatly stacked around, and she was covered by her robes, wrapped up as if it was a blanket.
Her hair tussled, and her eyes dreamy, he smiled to himself, and put his arms under his head.
The clouds were forming, darkening in the sky. Thunder rumbled about, warning of a storm to come. This had thoughts running through his mind.
"My lady," he started. "Perhaps we should take this opportunity to Get back to the temple... I'm sure after all that, you must be hungry by now."

Or do they control me?
