Ares scowled. "I'm always honest, Dad. You should know that." He wasn't always frank or upfront or whatever you wanted to call it, but he liked to consider himself honest. "I can handle this. Manipulation will not be needed."

Not if things went according to plan.

Knowing Evermore, though, they wouldn't.

Zeus chuckled. "Ares, your idea of honesty is very different from most people's. But that makes you one of the best gods we have."

He knew that would inflate his ego, but he didn't care. He knew he could quickly deflate it again.

He nodded. "Alright. You may go. Keep me updated."

Aphrodite nodded and began to walk outside the Main Hall. She kept a leisurely stroll as she looked at the quiet beauty of Olympus. ”I offered to take her place, you know,” she said to him quietly. ”I offered to take Evermore’s job, and subject myself to working with the Furies in her place so that you two might be together… Daddy also agreed not to interfere with you two,” Aphrodite chuckled gently. ”Daddy put a stop to that, but at least I freed her from the Furies control. Athena and I are now in charge of her upbringing, and me (I suppose), even more so since Athena is MIA currently. I’m going to aid Evermore however I can,” she said simply. ”I just thought you’d like to know. It’s better that you hear it from me than some twisted version from those bitter Furies… and I wouldn’t mind you putting in a good word for me with Ever either!” she said irritably. ”That girl was the whole reason I’m here!”

Catching himself before he unconsciously changed the subject, he said hurriedly, "Thank you, though, Aphrodite. I do appreciate it." He wasn't one for many words when it came to thanking, expressing sorrow, or generally being nice to other people. Well, not normally, anyways.

((If you're thinking of the Athena from MFHS who's currently there... she's just a character who happened to be named Athena. Not THE Athena, lol.))

He sighed, rolling his eyes at Aphrodite. "Yeah, yeah, I know. I'll see what happens." He took the information she'd given him and stored it away. It didn't really matter much now, but he'd remember it. "Let's go." Without further adieu, he shimmered out of sight to reappear in Bai Ching, in Evermore's room.

Aphrodite nodded. With a final glance at Olympus, she snapped her fingers and reappeared in her bedroom at Bai Ching. Sighing, she shrugged off her jacket and shoes and was nearly scared witless when a man emerged from her bathroom. With a relieved sigh, she saw that it was Adonis. She smiled lazily at him. "I was hoping you'd get the message..." she said tilting her head to the side in a coy manner.

"I've been here mostly," Aphrodite said honestly, gasping as his kisses became more intense. "... you'd think Sephie would get the m-message aft-t-er a while..." she said, pressing her lips to his.

Ever finally finished running around the lake a few times. She was gasping for air now, but she still didn't feel any better.

So, she turned her CD player back to the SuperChicks song that she had played at the beginning. Then, she glared at the ground and threw her CD player down on it. As the pieces flew up in the air, shattered, shadows from the tree flew over and started to spin around them. Then, the song started to play as if it was being played out of a stereo and the shadows were spinning in a small black ball with balls of lightning in it from the power it took to play the song loudly.

Then, after taking off her shoes, though still in her uniform, she pointed her hands toward the lake, took a deep breath, and dived in.

It was still light outside, so the fairies and spirits weren't around. This was the first time she had gone in the lake during the day since she was attacked. And she didn't care.

Ever was now deep under water, but she could still hear the song playing above the surface.
