There was a weariness in Emma's voice when next she spoke. "Demons...they are a nuisance."
Her posture shifted, the facade melting away. There were circles under her eyes, which were red and bloodshot.

She hadn't gotten a good night's sleep in over two weeks. Even for an elf, she was at her limit.
Never a moment of peace, and she could not seek comfort from the only one who could give it. He was fighting.

They could never let their guard down and the stress of keeping defensive spells running at all times was beginning to wear her down.

Grey sipped his coffee, thinking back on recent events... and promptly spat it out as a memory flashed in his head. This time, rather than being a fragment that was unclear, he could see exactly what was happening.
Wiping his mouth with a napkin (and wiping the rest of the mess), he slightly smiled. "So... that's how I came to be," he whispered to himself.
