Soon enough, students were dispersing out--Athena quickly realized that it was due to the darkening horizon. Sighing, she pulled herself up and shuffled awkwardly (and a bit heavily) to the dorms. The mud that had felt so wonderful only a minute ago was beginning to feel mucky and grimy, which wasn't pleasant in the slightest. Reaching into her pocket for her key (and unsurprisingly finding it caked in mud), she realized she should at least rinse herself off a little before going into the dorm.

Stepping about a metre from the still-closed door, she muttered a quick (and insanely easy) water spell. Her hands began to spew clean water, so she held them above her head and slowly brought them down her body, getting the worst of the mud off of herself. Of course, that meant that now she was sopping wet, and thusly still unfit to walk into the dorm. Plus, wet dog smell (which occasionally happened with her) was no fun. Her first reaction was to shake fiercely, and for whatever reason, she gave in before realizing that she was only getting the water everywhere else whilst looking like an idiot.

Athena sighed and racked her brain for a spell--then remembered she didn't need one. She could just turn up the heat. It was a bit risky, but there wasn't anything that could possibly catch near her because everything was still soaked from the previous rains. So she contentrated and let a hot, mostly controlled fire envelop her partially. It began with her ears and head and worked its way down at a slow, constant rate. She wasn't completely dry, but she was going to take a shower ASAP anyway, so that didn't really matter. Neither did the still-present remnants of mud that her impromptu watering down hadn't gotten away.

Now ready to actually go into her dorm, she put her now-clean key into the door and walked inside. She grinned to Lin. "Hey. Been a while--how are you?" Laughing slightly, she added, "I'd hug you or something, but... well, yeah." She gestured down at herself to explain.

((I'm assuming that there are outdoor entrances to all the dorms with this post...))

Athena smiled. "Well, I've been good. It's awesome that you got to go see your sister's wedding and helping with Spring and such. Not much of any interest has happened around here since you've been gone, though, so you're going to be the only one with any good stories. Unless you count the mudfight, but you got here in time with that."

And Lin did succeed--in a way. Athena noticed her momentary pause when asking about the professors, which she found odd, but she quickly dismissed it. It wasn't something terribly important (to her), so she didn't want to expend too much energy on something trivial. "Yeah, they're going great. I'm managing to keep my grade up to par with my family's standards much easier than I thought at first. The professors are all doing fine, as far as I can tell. Most are still as insane as when you left, and there haven't been changes to my knowledge."

Athena was a bit confused as to why her grades being good made Lin so happy (happy, sure, but this was weird). She would have asked, but suddenly her underwear managed to place itself in a very... unwanted position. She decided that it didn't really matter very much compared to her current state of damp dirtiness (even though it was many times better now than it had been minutes ago). So, instead of asking any questions, she said thanks and then, "I'm going to go ahead and shower up now, though. I think the mud managed to slip its way into places unspoken." With a short sound of amusement, she grabbed some clean clothes, waved at Lin, and slipped right on in to the bathroom.

Bleep bleep.
Gotta love the noise of a new car setting it's alarms at the push of a button. He smirked, walking over to the side of the school. It had the field which led the way to either the dorms or the Night Building. The cafeteria was in the middle. Heading to the Night Building, though, he thought of the voice that entered his head, reminding him about work in the first place.
Lin.
He turned directions, heading towards the first floor dorms. Then again, he wanted to see her immediately, see if she was really there. He walked around the building instead of going inside. He saw her window, open, and grinned. Way too easy.
He walked over to the window, silent as a dust particle and watched Lin in front of him. She was still as beautiful. Though her skin looked paler. Were those forgetful elves feeding this child?!
Her hair was darker, longer, and she looked more earthly than she ever had. Made sense. He smiled now as he looked down. She was holding his rose.
Her eyes seemed to be in a trance with the rose, and he figured she was concentrating. "What are you waiting for?" he asked softly, in his velvet voice. He smiled his best smile.

((I am going to laugh if Athena comes out of the shower early and finds Dymetri, a professor, in their room! lol!))

The smile turned into a grin. "Of course."
He touched the tips of her hair with his thumb. "It's gotten longer since I last saw you." He looked back up at her, setting his hands down gently on hers. "Why is it that I haven't seen you for so long?"
His eyes looked sad, abandoned. Yet they were also concerned. On the inside, though, Dymetri was still an excited boy. His Lin was back, she was home, she was safe. With me.
