Argh. It's a little disheartening to see everybody getting their luciole art (Wonderful wip, btw Zeph!) since I commissioned and paid her back in november/december and all she's showed me was a WIP that I posted a couple months ago. I haven't heard anything since though. I'll try sending her a note again. I mean nothing bad against Luc or anything she's super sweet and I love her AND her work. It's just that I've seen all the auctions and shops and pieces she's done for everyone else and I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm never going to get the piece I paid for.
Edit: Also wanted to add that I don't think she's trying to scam me or anything like that. I'm not trying to start trouble. I've been patient and will remain patient. I waited 10 months for my NJ piece, I don't mind waiting just as long for luciole. I just get a little [bitter, annoyed, irritated, etcetc. I can't figure out the right word] when I see all the new art she's been doing.
But aaanywho heart wonderful art everybody!
thenightsdesire: Mmm, egyptian priestess! (I know a little naughty fact about a few rituals they did that include ancient forms of today's uh...pleasure devices. ninja ) I haven't seen many egyptian OC's around. She's beautiful ^^

Mekania Argh. I know, I've told her several times to take the time she needs. I was originally supposed to get a 10 character collage but she wasn't feeling it so we decided on a semi-realism watercolor instead. I was totally fine with her doing something she was a little more into. I still am! It's just kinda discouraging when I see all the stuff she's doing for gaia and newer commissions when I've been waiting about 7 or 8 months. I LOVE the wip she showed me and the idea for the mood/setting she was telling me about. I'm sure it'll be stunning when she's finished and I'm very grateful she accepted my commission at all. Especially since Mek isn't the usual shoujo-y kind of characters she draws. (She was based off of Jessica Rabbit, afterall!) I just sent her a note on dA, hopefully she'll update me a bit on the piece. And yeah, I mentioned a couple pages back that I was getting another NJ piece (and maybe another one after that) heart I fell in love with her art a couple of months after the mendels first started (it was the very first breedables shop I encountered) I had planned to get a two character piece after my first one but it took longer than I expected and she raised her prices along the way so I don't think I can afford that anymore. Gendou - heart Thank you! Judging has been a beaaar, though - but I'm almost through it, and happy with how it's coming out.
Raesha - I bet you anything you'll probably end up getting more entries than 63 with how well you are known to artists/how neat your original characters are heart
zephyree - Grats on getting the NJ slot~ heart
Songjewel - Ahh.... how many? Not quite sure offHAND, but quite a few! SOme of them QUITE good! heart And I fully intend on recounting my number of arts after the contest is over/done with/trades sent out and see where I stand in the whore rankings *crosses his fingers and thinks he's probably up to OMGWTF heart ). Do
Raesha - you ever going to make anything above OMGWTF? xd And written art (stories ) of characters count towards the numbers, right?
Anetra - I agree entirely. And IMHO, they really usually do end up being worth the money - even if it doesn't start to roll in till near the end.
And Klody - YES - Raesha's absolteuly right - you need a solid enddate or people get worried/discouraged :3

Kia Ryou - Yeesh... but did you already "Pay" for the commission? I always thought it REALLY strange to pay for something (even be it in Gaia gold) and then have the artist charge again to get the original - I mean, you already paid them to make it (I more than understand covering shipping, but paying for it twice rubs me the wrong way).

Mekania - Awww! 4laugh That's really sweet! And now of course my curiousity is piqued whee I'm really flattered that you think we've been such an inspiration, and that you like our characters so much!
I forgot to mention earlier - but I LOVE The NJ piece you got of Mek - it really turned out fantastic! If you don't mind me asking - for price considerations, about how many hours did that one take her (assumign she was using that pricing method with you).
And that makes sense about Luc - Good luck hearing from her! My current worry is SatouGaki - who's read PM's I've sent her but not responded in relations to queries about a RL commish I bought.... I don't even really mind if she hasn't had time to make progress, I just don't like lack of contact from artists when it's been 4+ months ><
