The kick to the face didn't go quite as planned. The brute leaned back enough that it avoided his face but he still got hit square in the collar bone sending him back. Groaning in pain he seemed to be down for the count but two others came in to take his place.
"Looks like this one didn't learn his lesson," one said as he unwrapped his whip from around his waist.
The two ganged up on Blade to re-educate him in the manner of pain before they went about untying his hands to take his coat and search his pockets.
"Check his boots and pant legs too, that's where the other guy kept a lot of his knives," Called the man who had just tended to Neko.

Tessa gave a full belly laugh when Atticus requested she not do that again. "Aye, love. Sure thing. I don want ta give ye a complex now."
Still chuckling to herself she moved to her man that had Riyo slung over his shoulder. "And what's wrong with this one?"
"She appears to be ill ma'am," He said matter of factly.
Curiously she walked behind him to get a look at Riyo's face. Pushing her long blonde hair aside Tessa took hold of Riyo's face to gently lift her head. Her facial expression said that she was sick but she didn't have a fever nor did her face have the usual signs of sickness. "Put her in the carriage with me, I'll keep an eye on her. Have you confirmed any magic users?"
"No ma'am." He stated again.
Tessa sighed. "Then grab that new collar we got from the wagon. I don't want to take any chances with her."
"Yes, ma'am." Shifting Riyo on his shoulder he went about taking her to the wagons to go about binding her up and putting the collar on.
After that was done Tessa turned to the last in the group and lite up a little with curiosity. "A wolf? Albino at that." Walking toward Mitsu she poked at her for a moment. "Not much ta look at. Rather scrawny. But the hair and eyes will fetch a nice price. Where do ye come from, Missy?"
Mitsu looked at Tessa shyly having finally given up on struggling long ago. Instead of speaking she hunkered her head like a cornered animal and looked at Tessa with frightened eyes.
"A little shy this one. No matter. Take them ta the wagon, bind them all up." The men gave a nod as they hauled everyone to their feet who wasn't already and took them to the caged wagon where they were bond and placed inside.

Blade Kuroda About another week and a half passed, and they were finally out of the arctic wasteland. It was still a bit chilly, especially since it was now night, but it was definitely warmer. Though it was fairly dark out, Shun urged that they stay on the road for now. If he recalled correctly, there was a town close by that they could reside in for the night. Sure enough, there was. Through the darkness, he was just barely able to pick out some silhouettes of buildings further ahead. Something was a bit amiss though... namely the fact that there were hardly any lights on in the buildings he could make out. It wasn't extremely late out, so he couldn't think of why there would be a lack of light, but maybe the people here went to bed early or something along those lines. For a moment, Shun glanced over his shoulder towards Poke, before urging his horse to advance on into town. Once they were there, he noticed a few other things. Some windows of homes were broken, and the area seemed rather desolate altogether. His guess was that a raid of sorts happened here and most of the townsfolk then abandoned town. If that was the case, then they would be getting some free rooms tonight. Poke was privately thanking whatever god out there that she was out of that cold, desolate wasteland. She was also hoping that she would never have to go through that area again, but this she doubted (she did want to go back someday in order to smack that Suto guy a few times over) As usual, shun was hoping to get as much ground covered in one night, so he continued riding, even though it was quite hard to see the road. Poke wasn't to worried though; she was beginning to master the art of sleeping while sitting on a horse. And so she had spent her time as such. doze, eat, sleep, and make as little noise as possible. She was aroused from her dozing state when she felt the horse sped up. Opening her eyes she noticed they were riding into a town, but this one was different; There were no lights, and a few windows were even broken. She had heard stories of groups of people who raided complete towns, taking what they could and capturing people so they could be sold off as slaves. As they rode on, poke hoped that those stored were just myths to scare people, or the people responsible were long gone.

Blade looked up as two guys approached to beat him down. He saw this coming.. but he still felt that kick to the other guy was worth it for now. And if he weren't bound up, he probably would have tried to defend himself against the two.
Once they were through with laying on the pain, he didn't quite have strength to put up a struggle when they searched him. No knives, but a good supply of lock picks. And they found them all, which meant he was probably going to need to improvise a good amount later on. He was also going to need to thank Neko for giving them the idea to search them.
"Dammit..." he groaned when they finished binding him up again.
He wasn't looking so good right now, and he was breathing fairly heavily, but considering what just happened that was to be expected.

Once they were a little deeper into town, Shun ordered his horse to stop. Seeing how there seemed to be no one in town, it really didn't matter which of the buildings they resided in for the night. And this one house they stopped in front of seemed like it would have two bedrooms at least.
But right after he dismounted, he heard some shuffling nearby. Narrowing his eyes some, he turned towards the source while beginning to reach for one of his blades. There was a chance that some raiders would still be in the area, depending on how recent all this had been. His suspicions seemed to have been confirmed as he could make out the figure of a humanoid slowly making their way towards them.
"Leave us be and you won't be killed."
The one he just threatened didn't respond, and they just continued to advance towards them. There was something odd about the way it moved as well.. maybe whoever it was they were injured already.
"You asked for it," said Shun before flinging the knife at the other's throat.
He knew he definitely hit, and he saw the person jerk slightly from the impact. Yet, for whatever reason, it didn't seem to hinder them at all. They made no cry of pain or anything; they just kept slowly walking towards the two.

well, at least they were going to get a nice bedroom tonight... Looking at the house she even wondered if had some food supplies, or a bathtub.
She stopped her pondering when someone began to approach the horse.
Poke dismounted the horse quickly. She was thinking it could of been a survivour from the raids, but before she could find out shun had went for a killing blow.
"you know, you don't have to kill everyone you see..." poke began to mumble but stopped short. The person was still walking.
"w...what?!" she stepped backwards. "no one can survive an attack like that!"

The horse was shifting restlessly, now becoming a little more nervous about their present location. For good reason too.
For a moment or two, Shun stared at the person while stepping backwards and drawing out both daggers. While he didn't show it so much, he was nearly as alarmed as Poke was about the fact that his attack didn't seem to affect this person so much.
"What the hell... stay back!"
The person only gave a moan in response as they continued to move closer. Now that it was a bit easier to see, the two would have noticed that the man's clothes were torn and that he seemed to have a rather large wound in his chest... along with the small blade sticking out of its throat. Not to mention that it smelled of decaying flesh.
When it was close enough, it lunged for them. Its movements were still sluggish but it was an attack nonetheless. The assassin immediately jumped back before retaliating by stabbing it in the chest. He didn't know if it would do anything... and quite frankly it didn't. Good thing Shun kicked it away before it could bite down onto him.
As the creature fell to the ground from the kick, another moan could be heard nearby.

poke kept hold of the reigns of the horse, in case the animal was about to bolt and leave them here with this...thing.
"What...is that thing?!" she aske dhim, starting to get a bit concerned now. Sure it was slow, but it sure didn't want to stay down. Perhaps the best thing now would be the bolt.
She turned around again, hearing another moan somewhere. There where more of these things?? Cursing under her breath she kept watch, looking for whereever this new one was going to come from.

Shun turned around towards the source of the new moan. Not too far away he could see another humanoid shambling towards them. And out of the corner of his eyes he caught some movement in the same area.
"Its not human... or animal. That's for sure."
Narrowing his eyes, he concentrated for a moment or two. It was a bit hard to see what was going on in this darkness, so he cast a small spell to aid his vision. He was thankful that this one didn't require him to bleed first.. and almost immediately the area seemed to brighten a little to him.
"Ah s**t... there's at least ten of them."
Not wanting to stick around, the black stallion reared up and whinnied before trying to run off to safety.
"Ryuujin!"

"you have got to be kidding me. Ten of them?!". Just because she liked a good fight, didn't mean she wanted to take on people she couldn't beat. And apparently the horse had the same notion.
"s**t!" she tried to get the horse to calm down, but it was having none of it. Before she could let it run off she managed to swing herself onto it, but the horse rearred up and sent her to the ground again, where she sat there trying to get some feeling back into her tail end

As the horse began to bolt, Shun tried to somehow catch the reins and calm the beast down, but it was too late. Ryuujin had already left them in a trail of dust.
"Ah ******** held up his daggers, ready to defend himself, but quite frankly, he wasn't so sure how to go about this. These creatures definitely would not be stopped so easily, so right now it was probably best that they try to find some sort of shelter.
Still, he was trying to think of possible ways to stop any that got too close to them.
"They don't have the same vitals as we do... but there has to be something that would kill them. There isn't a damn thing out there that can't be killed..." he muttered, "At least they move slowly."
The strange creatures were closing in on them slowly.

Getting up, poke regarded what shun had said. And, as far as she knew they didn't know any magic spells either.
"Well, perhaps they're just really resilliant!" Poke jumped forwards and slammed her fist into the nearest one, sending it to the ground. She then turned around and punched one that was trying to get her from behind. A thrid came, but she duck and let the creature fall over the top of her before jumping up and throwing it at a fouth.
For all her show of fighting ability, They all just stood up again and walked towards her with gutteral moans and groans.
"..." she jumped at another one and punched it, but didn't stop there. She continued to throw punch after punch after punch, trying for the head, chest, and even kicking it to see if it would stay down this time.

Shun glanced towards Poke as she attacked the creatures. For now it'd be better to fight them off, seeing how they were practically surrounded. That aside, he was eager and curious to see what would be fatal for these rotten things. It made him uncomfortable to think that something might be invulnerable.
As one lunged for him, he side stepped and slashed back at it. Sooner or later they'd find some place that would serve as a vital or a weakspot of sorts. Hopefully not too late though, seeing how they couldn't keep fighting endlessly.
Luckily for them, they didn't have to wait too long. As Poke pummeled one of the creature's head, she managed to basically... punch its head in. And well, the creature went still.
Unfortunately, a few more of these things were slowly making their way towards the two.
"Dammit, what hell are these things spawning from?!"

Looking down at the creature that she had pummpled, poke was, survificed to say, happy at her victory and relieved that she was able to take these things down with only her fists.
She didn't seem so scared anymore now
"YYYAARRRR!" Poke battle cried, Throwing her full weight ontop of the nearest one and smacked it's face into the ground, were the impact shattered the creatures skull. Another one then lunged at her, grabbed her right arm in a attempt to bite but she punched it before it could even take hold. Another few blows and it layed strill on the ground.
turning around to shun, she pointed her finger at him and pretty much shouted "HOWS THAT FOR YA!". But as soon as she had pointed her hands out she realised that they were covered in the creatures blood and, what appeared to be, brains.
"uuughhhh..." she held a face of disgust at the goop in her hands, and looked around to see if there was anything she could wipe it off on.

Shun wasn't making much progress against the creatures himself, but he was at least fending them off. Hearing Poke taunt him, he turned around to see that she had actually managed to defeat a few. Not to mention she seemed to have some gunk covering her fists.
"I'll pass."
His eyes trailed down to the few dead creatures, noting that they all had their heads practically destroyed. So that was the trick then.
As one of them came after him, he immediately went to stab it several times in the face, and it did work. These things didn't seem quite so daunting now that they knew how to kill them. But there were quite a few still, and it seemed like more were coming.
"Come on, we better find a place to hide. I swear these hellspawn just keep coming out of god's a** or something."

"how about we just try to outrun them. I doubt they could keep up with us, and mabye we'll run into your horse somewhere" pokke said while trying to whipe the gunk off her and onto one of the creatures ripped clothing. She then kicked it away and then ran the opposite direction, past shun, and just kept on running. She hopped that shun would get the general idea.
"Theres no way we could defeat them all if there gonna keep coming!" she shouted over her shoulder
