Great Tattooist Oni TweedleKeys Drawing class canceled for earthquake. D:5.6 maybe about 15 miles from the school. It was about 10 minutes into a 60 minute study (and I think I got my proportions right too gonk ) I think the president just decided to make everyone go home and check for structural damage though the building is supposedly built to withstand an 8.0 (with uh, 20 year old engineering.) It was pretty exhilarating all the same. I tried to convince people not to use their cell phones and bone the network for people who might have been in serious danger (at the time we didn't know where the epicenter was and thus the magnitude felt by the people there.) That didn't work out so well though. sweatdrop Poor model, it must have been extra freaky to be completely naked and under a ton of shaking lights.

Being fabulous is hard; this is today's lesson. In the good news department, my second bleaching attempt worked brilliantly, even if I'm just barely not light enough blond to really be able to pull off Lennox's white blond look. D:

Spider, we're working on your kanji right now... ninja
Edit:
刺青師 鬼 or 刺青師鬼
= irezumi-shi oni / tattoo master oni / tattoo craftsman oni
I thought I'd add an explanation on why Hiro and I ended up making this a more "authentic" rather than "direct" translation of "Great Tattooist Oni". Since Japanese culture is very modest, very few people would go out and proclaim their greatness or expertise in a particular field. In fact, there is a distinct lack of terminology that expresses this sort of greatness directly. We chose the word "shi" (the third kanji here) because it is a word that implies inherent greatness without going out and saying "I AM TEH BEST, Y'ALL." It literally means "professional/craftsman/master", and in order to be any of those, one has to be "great", right?
I hope that makes sense. sweatdrop

LunaInverse Hey, any of you sun people in the area affected by the earthquake...you all ok? I'm fine. I was way too far away to feel it...I think the closest people would have been Keys, Zely, Phoe, Atemu, Joasis....not sure who else lives in that vicinity. Oh wait, Gaia does. xd Anyway, I'd like to 'second that "Are you guys okay??" comment. There haven't been many reported injuries/damage that I've heard, but nevertheless... sad heart

I'm gonna say no, unless you guys want to do a more in-depth check... Quote: Request from Minimum_Damage Accept Decline Tue Oct 30, 2007 10:21 am I would like to join this horrible guild because I heard there was cake and icecream. Ashram McDuck told me so. Now I want. So you give. Also, chickens. God dammit. It puts the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again. Yeah, you don't have to worry about any problems with me, bub. I'm a respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but definitely not dangerous. I hate Gaia. So open up. Ashram's bud. Looks like I'll just give him an automatic-in. Nice statement though. whee

LunaInverse Hey, any of you sun people in the area affected by the earthquake...you all ok? On further check, we're about 10.5 miles away at art class, 9 miles at home, as the birds fly. I'm slowly finding everything that's jumped off of the shelves (small clocks, small plushies, model kit boxes etc.) Strangely, all the anime figures that were standing before the quake are still standing. I think that probably says I need to open my cabinet and re-erect a ton of already fallen figures. sweatdrop

I'm reading the manga because of Fuyumi Ono's involvement though I felt it took quite a few volumes to become really great. I've been loving the multi-volume arcs that have been coming out in English lately. That reminds me, I need to go to the Winchester Mystery House some time.
