((I *think* it's to do with the electricity contracting your muscles. Possibly. Electricity was about a year ago now, physics-wise...))

((Not only that, but the level of electricity/power that lightning has is enough to crack boulders in some cases. The body, persisly the nervous system, uses electron impulses, that includs the spinal cord and the brain, and if too much is placed on the body, it would kill the average person...or at least place them into a deep coma. Shiro says he's lived in a place that people have to be ready for this, but what he shows is that he can channel uncontroled lightning, something a piece of wire could do, though it has a high possibility that it would melt unless it was a really good conductor like gold or something. What Tutsumi used was real lightning, but controled. What happens when atoms which normally bounce around at a higher level are controlled, and then suddenly released? They explode with extra energy, so if Shiro had as he said absorbed to his max, the change in chakra would of caused an exposion.))

Nova finnished her meditation, her old Blood was gone again and brnad new Blood corsed through her. She stood up and streched, her bones cracked and she sighed, "Much better." She placed two fingers to the cut on the back of her head, It will heal soon enough. She thought as she walked over to the sofa. She had come here to train, so far she had done nothing but us it as a safe haven for ater fight of when she had been attacked or poisioned. She wanted to learn, but she did not find it poilet to ask for training. She looked at the bandaging on her arms, the kimono like garmet she wore over her bandages made her look more normal, but she still felt confind in the bandages. She lay out on sofa, placing her hands behind her head.

((Well, if you want to bring atoms into this, then touche. You claimed you were removing the oxygen from around Shiro. If you were, in fact, removing the oxygen from the water in the air around Shiro, then your lightning would have ignited the remaining Hydrogen, which, by then, would be pretty damn high, considering its atomic mass, therefore causing an extremely large explosion thousands of feet in the air, producing pretty lights, and would most likely have startled anyone in the area not expecting it, which would be about everyone who cannot see subatomic particles or have knowledge of advanced physics and chemistry, which would be...hmm...about nobody, unless of course Tutsumi also has advanced knowledge of these subjects, and if he did, he would have known that this wasn't a good move, as Hydrogen is particualrly reactive and extremely dangerous. Now assuming he doesn't have this knowledge, the explosion would have startled him into losing his concentration, and since chakra manipulation requires extensive concentration, he would lose his focus and also his hold on teh lightning, which by then would have gone right through Shiro and into the ground.))
