Malik walked with them, and motioned to the younger daughter.

"Go to the farside enterance. and be ready. this is going to feel, smell..seem completely real. if you get scared or anything, let your father know and we'll handle it."

letting the girl scamper off before a glance at the eldest Inthra.

"So...shall we throw them in Hate? Fire? Fear? War?"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 19, 2007 6:33 am

"Oh we absolutely would. Those four together are quite scary and I still claim that the elders are worse since they have more at their disposal." She wrapped one arm around Dhairiss's waist and held her own son's fingers with her other hand letting him stand up and take a few shaky steps. "Right. Love on him now because he won't be mine to do so later." She stood slowly and let Dhairiss go then bent over slighlty, began to walk with her own. "Come on Kelli, take a step for me." It was tempting enough to leave all the kids with Piper but with school tomorrow... "How about you keep Kelligrin for two nights and tomorrow night you can have them all? I'll take Dhairiss and Malikhai off your hands for a weekend whenever you wish in return."

He rolled his eyes. "Sorry not real big on armor, I prefer to fight without all that weighing me down." He was right on with slapping that blade up because Zykariel had that polearm slashing a second after the sound of chainmail being hit echoed. "Oh look, he can do acrobatics. Aren't we all proud?" He continued to parry for a few blows, forcing Malikhai to step back to avoid being swiped. The polearm began to feel heavier in his hands but he assumed it was just the energy from the fight that was getting to him and he was fine still. Bringing it back up to waist level, he tapped Malikhai in the side and raised an eyebrow. "No flips?"

Faatallon and Lyssthyren followed eagerly, both antsy for something exciting to happen. The younger girl caught Malik's hand and tugged. "Something with trees. Not the kinds of trees that we have either. Like the surface trees...." Glancing at her father for a moment. "Or the ones on...Andal." Thus scampering off to the place she was told to go. Her sister shook her head. "They aren't prepared to fight in trees, either of them and they don't have long-range weapons right now. Give them mountains, Daddy. Something with rocky ground and lots of footfalls. I want to see Zykariel on his a** a few times."

"More at thier disposal and the ability to lie with a straight face and straight bond as well sometimes. It's downright frightening from time to time." Smiling as Dhairiss then took leave of Zahara and toddled over to herself, and she picked him up pressing a kiss to his cheek before settling him in her lap, where he duely took to playing with her hair...he liked the streaks. "Hm, a weekend without the children..." Sure, she didn't have as many as Zahara but it was nice to have time away from the two that she did have as well. "Sounds like a very very good deal. Maybe I can get Malik to go camping or something like that on top of it. Ah the exchange of children to gain free grown up time, isn't it lovely?"

"Armor is an ally if you know how to make it one." Thus back into motions of striking at each other without hurting one another. They knew they were allowed to land blows, just not ones that would rip though what protection that they did have, or break any weapons and such that they had. "You could stand to learn some, they're nifty and useful." Making his friend work a little back as they kept matching each other, but a jump step back and a look at being tapped in the side. "No flips? You mean like this?" Thus a knock at the polearm to move it away before a little flip and he was...standing on Zykariel's, or rather Sevilin's, polearm with his sword pointed at his friend's nose. "How was that for you? Good enough." Fighting a moment with the weight of his own blade and his new center of balance.

He listened to his girls with some amusement as the four made thier way down to the arena. "Now Malik, don't want to scar them or anything. Give them too much and then they'll loose thier concentration on each other and only focus on thier surroundings. That's no good." A gesture with his hand that he often did when he was thinking, rolling hsi wrist slightly. "Why not just give them something rather of the mix of things the girls mentioned. Just tweak it, after all can't have it too much like homw. Sand does nice to, had pitfalls." Though Faatallon got a reprimanding knock on the back, gently of course though. "Watch your language."

"Alright. Stonebrunt Mountains it is.

Malik grinned lightly, gesturing over Malikhai's enchanter instructor..and then it happened, the area darkened some, a mist filled the arena..and once it cleared...the area was full of forestry, mountains, bamboo, as well as indigneous creatures there of.

And Malikhai and Zykariel? they were balancing on the edge of a mountain, the slope wasn't exactly meant to be balanced on, either.

"Now lets have some sport...see how thier duel goes when it gets interrupted by the stonebrunt clan of kobolds..which do infest teh mountainous areas and the forestry."

She watched the older one toddle off and turned her attention back to her own son, catching him as he nearly fell on his face. "No tears, baby. Come on, try again for me." She nodded to her friend. "You can convince him of nearly anything if you know the proper methods, Piper. And I must say you do know your methods." Sharing a smile with her friend for a moment as she continued teaching her child to walk. "Best thing women can do for each other, I've found. But don't you have someone who could watch them when you left here at Twilight? If I want someone to take my little monsters for longer than a weekend, I use Nadai."

"Now you sound like your father. I prefer to stay free and limber, easy to move and easy to don. Armor is not nearly as dashing as you think it is. And it begins to stink after a while as well." Parrying still, playing but not at the same time. Though as his friend performed more acrobatics and ended up on his weapon he shook his head. "Problem with flipping like that..." He yanked the blade out from under his friend's feet and watched him begin to fall back. But instead of hitting the arena floor, the mist that had popped up when he hadn't been paying attention cleared and his friend was about to fall down a precipice.

"Malikhai!" Lunging forward he caught him by the ankle and held though his body began to slip on the none too stable ground. "What the hell?!" He dropped his own weapon and dropped to his stomach, reaching his other hand over the side and getting a better grip on his friend before pulling him back up and getting him on semi-solid ground. "That was close. Are you alright?"

Faatallon winced lightly but nodded her head in understanding and then watched as the entire arena changed completely. She watched her brother attempt to adapt and flail as he caught his balance and then realized his friend's predicament. "They can't actually die from this, can they?" It had sounded like such fun when she was talking about it but now that she was faced with it, she wasn't so sure.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 19, 2007 5:45 pm

He crossed his arms, waiting next to Malik and frankly with a hint of amusement to his look over all of this. After all, the children needed to face new things now didn't they? Of course they did and this would do well to help them learn. Or at least that's how he's going to rationalize. "Hm, enviroment change and adding in a new challenge as well. You are spot on aren't you?" Turning his attention to Faatallon and patting her on the shoulder in comforting manner. "They're fine dear, no worries. It's all an illusion." Couldn't upset the children.

"Only if you don't know what you're doing over all with it." Though he had been prepared for the yank he knew was coming, tensing his leg muscles to counter...that is until he got distracted by sudden enviroment changes and mistakingly dropped his guard, he knew better...but it happened...and thus he was lacking something to stand on and also was faced with apparently falling off a mountain...not fun. He made a noise as momentum was brought to a harsh stop when he was grabbed and he fumbled his sword a moment, but kept hold on it. Thank Gods for that. "The hell indeed...Yeah, yeah I'm-look out!" Shoving down on his friend to make him duck as he popped up and slashed his blade, duely taking the head off of a kobold. Ew, did he just decapitate something?

"He's a determined little bugger." Smiling as she watched Zahara trying to help her youngest to walk. But a melodic laugh then at the woman she was sharing motherly time with as well as wine. "Had a good almost forty years to work on such things. I think I should be well versed by now on such things. And yes I do...Keely's still able to watch them, though of coruse there is that fear of them getting too attached to her...she's human after all." It was upsetting to think of Keely being wholly mortal. After all, after Meilikki Piper had more or less let go of trying to get close to humans. It was too much heartache. Onyx, Moonstone and the like were lucky she still even associated with them. Defensive measure of course, but still. "Besides her, there's enough people around here to keep the children company and safe as well."

"That's what I thought. You have plenty of people to watch your children, so you could escape anytime you want to. I understand why you don't but still." She took a step back and let the child move with her then caught him up in a hug and kissed his cheeks, making him giggle. "He's going to be walking before we know it. I can't wait for his first real step." She was hoping that Sevilin would get to see it though. He'd caught all first steps except Faatallon's. But her first word had been Daddy so she supposed that balanced it all out. "I guess you have to be more careful what with the humans running about. Zykariel's going to take it hard, too. He loved Keeley growing up. Even offered to give her that very special gift." Giving a chuckle at that since it was so adorable and innocent all at the same time. Baby joke really.

Zykariel was not prepared for his friend to swipe his sword dangerously close to his back and he hit the dirt then stood up and made a face. "That's not even right." But suddenly there was more than just the one and he reached his foot out and used the manuever his father had taught him to toe his blade and pop the polearm up where he could catch it. Stepping to the left he spun once and took out two kobolds coming on each side, slicing them both neatly in half. "Are we even fighting each other anymore?"

"That just looked really close there for a moment..." She pushed a little closer to her father and grabbed for his hand, squeezing it tightly. Mama probably wouldn't be too pleased but then what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her right? "Daddy? You have something else runic on that weapon, don't you?" She was sensing the draining runes doing their work.

"Everything is fine, don't worry."

then a slight glance to the illusionist, who gave him a nod in return...and soon there was a loud rumbling, intermingled with screeches and such. a massive group of kobolds was heading for them, to push them into the forestry and the bamboo. he woudl wager Sevilin's other daughter was enjoying this time to wander, at least they hadn't heard anything yet.

let the boys get into a place of trees, bamboo, and panda bears...and that lunatic woman. the one that worshiped the black adn white bears with a zealotry. that would be really funny. besides the fact that they knew the duel between them woudl recommence once they were out of 'danger'.

"Yes yes I know, but it's not the same. I'd rather leave them with a capable elf than with humans. I mean what if something horrible happened? Children panic in such situations...call me paranoid if you wish." Before smiling and bursting out into giggles over the implied gift of sorts. Oh that had been a fun one to hear about. "Do you two still spread that story among your little ones? As creative as it may be, it's still so very amusing." Perking a moment at the shifting in her son's and husband's states of emotion...which she surmised to be one messing with another and thus settled.

"Um, no? Did we step into someone's training exercise that was spur of the moment? Because yeah...we didn't plan for this." One aspect of his training that he still faultered in...not being disrupted in his motions of battle when his surroundings took a change. "Ugly buggers hm? Them first, us later." Which meant the two could take to kobold mowing...before they both happened to trip into the undergrowth and tumble down an incline, smacking into bamboo. He listened for a moment, not hearing thread of kobolds and duly jumped back up and brandished his blade at his friend. "I say we make the best of our new playground. After all this is new."

He squeezed her hand back and gave a chuckle...it was cute. The girl acted all big and bad, but at the same time she was apprehensive still over things such as this. "Well...my normal runes that activate upon touch and such. Hm...hadn't thought of that. Bet your brother didn't either." Would be nice to see how Zykariel went about compensating for that one.

"I understand entirely. I've never had that problem because I don't leave my babies with humans. I don't know any aside from Keeley." She hugged her son again and then set him back down letting him choose to use her to stand up and then grasped her fingers again. "Yes, yes we do. Of course we have to be careful now because the older children will reveal things to the younger ones. The gift story just works out so nicely. It explains the presence of the baby inside but not the technical of how it happens which they are far too young anyway." She frowned as emotion spikes hit her as well and shook her head. Whatever those two were doing, if it got too bad, she was not going to be pleased. "What do you think they're doing down there? I bet they teamed up. Either my men against yours or fathers against sons. Either way, I'll bet it's entertaining."

"I think so." Thus he moved into the middle of a huge swarm and began spinning, using the blades to slice and dice as his mother would call his actions. Of course a moment later, he was off his feet and on his a**. Brushing his fingers against his forehead, he cursed. "That hurts..." And there was blood. Not a lot but even a little was murder on whitish silver hair. Taking a moment to recover, he finally stood and brandished the polearm then began slicing at Malikhai though he faltered for a moment. Was it just hiim or was that damn thing getting heavier? "Just watch out for any other playmates. We're each other's allies as well, Khia. Don't forget that."

"No...don't you think we should maybe warn him?" Then she glanced up at her father and giggled. "Guess not." She glanced out over the terrain and stepped up on her tippy toes to see into the thicker brush. "Ooh, Daddy! He just hit his head...silly boy. He should have tucked and rolled." Lyssthyren had indeed snuck onto the field and was walking through the brush, hiding behind various trees and watching the action occur. She didn't think anything could touch her and if something did, well she had magic in various forms and she was an Inthara.

"I give them thirty seconds before one of them almost hits a feeding panda bear and that dual wielding barbarian wildwoman comes screaming in at them about them being horrible people and poachers and demons..."

tigers roamed freely, and so did the bears...as well as deer, rabbits, wolverines and all sorts of animal life. not to mention a few camps of active kobolds around too.

"Though....if we were being eviler. I could put them in the Hole."
PostPosted: Wed Jun 20, 2007 1:40 pm

"It is a nice piece of work. Worthy of being written down I would think." Taking another drink from her glass, draining it this time and then petting at her son's hair lightly. "Knowing them, and since they are indeed downstairs, I would guess that they're playing in the arena...and since the boys are big enough to take on thier father's now, I'm guessing it's fathers verses sons in some type of fashion. Should we go take a peek?" Poking her son in the nose, who protested with a sentence or two before grabbing her hand to make sure she didn't do it again.

A blink as his friend had hit the ground, but he seemed okay so he was letting it go. Instead his attention he tried to pull away from his surroundings and focus on the task at hand, which was Zykariel...yet he had enviromental things to pay attention to as well...this was hard. "My friend is my enemy, at least in this case, got it." Thusly battle continued between them, with momentary pauses to deal with foes besidse each other. That all came to an abrupt halt though when he suddenly fell back and was staring at the black and white fluffy mound that his boots were propped on. "What the hell is that?" Blinking at it as it had lazily looked at him. Hey, he'd never seen a panda bear before, what would he know about them?

"Not at all my dear. Think of this as a lesson in learning what happens when you take people's things without asking them first." Keeping an eye on one daughter and a runic one on another as she wandered in her play, though his look turned to Malik. "Okay, I'll bite...explain what the Hole is."

Lifting her son into her arms, she nodded. "Yes, we might as well. We have to be around to keep those men in line, you know. Never know what sort of scrape they might get into." She picked up her wine glass and finished it off, holding it out of her son's reach. The child began to fuss and she reached into her bag and pulled out a bottle, handing it to him and shifting him so that it was easier for him to drink. Thus carting the baby along, she headed downstairs. "Are we letting them know we're watching?"

He kept it up even though it took more and more energy when he kept lifting the polearm in various positions and using his arm strength to pull off moves. Sure, he was used to his arm muscles becoming strained as combat went on but this felt a little strange. He hiked up the competition, pushing Malikhai to use his weaker arm by caging him into areas where he couldn't use the normal arm. "What?" He was busy fighting a tiger that had popped up on them. Finally, swiping the blade across the tiger's stomach and then stabbed it to make sure it was dead. Turning back, he frowned. "I don't know..." He reached out nudged the bear with the flat side of the blade on the polearm. "Doesn't look dangerous. Let's move on."

Lyssthyren had been steadily inching closer and she came upon another panda bear, this one a cub, curled into the bamboo trees, chewing lazily on the stalk. Her head tilted and she studied it closely then squealed. She knew what that was! It was a teddy bear. Kieran had talked to her about them once and said they couldn't hurt her. She moved in and crouched down, petting at the animal and then reached out to hug it.

"the hole is the result of a human magical war. a great big cratyer in teh middle of the continent of Odus, holding the reminas of old Paineel...a human necromantic city. full of spirits, both benign and aggressive, earth elementals, and undead. rumor is that the Hole actually cracked the planar wall between Brell's domain and the norrathian world."

though a slight chuckle as everyone found a panda bear.

"this is going to get good."

a loud shriek filled the air, and a blurring woman dressed in animal skins came flying through, sending both boys flying through sheer force of impact, though she stopped to give Lyssthyren a pat on the head...the panda bear didn't mind being hugged, only snorted lightly and continued to eat bamboo.

"defilers! Poachers! blasphemers! How dare you touch the pandas with your boots and weapons!"

brandishing two of the Lamentation blades...blades that speed up the wielder's movement.

Settling her own on her hip, not worried about glasses and such since the help would get that, she stood and joined Zahara, both heading downstairs. "Hm, well...it will be more amusing when they realize we're there so let's just be hush hush for the time being." Eventually reaching the arena and standing near the entrance but they had a clear view. But of course Dhairiss wriggled a little...since learning to walk, he enjoyed the freedom. Though Piper gave a distastful look at the arena. "Illusion play," before a blink, "It's the panda wench..." Frown.

"Looks lazy too." About to venture a poke before him and his friend ended up in a pile of each other. Well look at that, he almost got his own sword up his own nose. That wouldn't of been pleasant at all. And in confused manner, he merely blinked up at this strange woman of sorts who was more or less screeching at them. "Um sorry?" Looking up to his friend whom was on top of him. "I think she's...crazy...or something..." Alarmed blink however as she drew weapons. "And armed...crazy and armed." Thus to struggling to get out from under his friend.

A blink as he explained it all. "Hm, leave it for when they're a bit more keen on handling the world around them when they're trying to be focused...it seems that they seem a bit throw off by thier new odd woman friend." Watching somewhat, slight spike of apprehension for his youngest...but it seemed that she was in the right and the boys were in the wrong. That was amusing in and of itself. "Guess we'll see how they handle thier morals on how to treat a woman and then how it changes in such situations."
