Hey guys! Does this sound like a decent small army: Farseer with mind war and singing spear, 5 Howling Banshees with a Wave Serpent with twin linked bright lances, 3 Jetbikes, 3 Jetbikes and 3 more Jetbikes.

Each three Jetbikes are in seperate troop squads. So what do you think? Any improvements I could make?

If your Wave Serpent gets taken out, you will have a damn hard time against any vehicles I can assure you.

Sorry to say 44gah but that sounds like a rather weak selection.

I realize you are going for speed but the Banshee's in such low numbers will get shot up the moment they drop out of the serpent (if it isn't destroyed before that time) and while mind war is fun to use, I think you'd be better off with either Doom so your bikes can focus fire on squads or Eldritch Storm so you can have a chance at clearing out some numbers.

I think either swapping out the banshees for firedragons (since they can blast both heavier armoured infantry and tanks apart with relative ease are a better choice for this set-up. Especially if you put the farseer with them and give him guide so they can guarantee their meltaguns hit their marks.

I don't suppose you have the points for shuriken canons amongst those bikes do you? A little extra kick I find always helps them out.

WalrusM3
My army revolves around the Striking scorpions and Warp spiders, but the problem is it worth taking them?

As an experienced Eldar player, I can honestly tell you Walrus that both units are tricky to make effective in each battle but they can be real life savers when you know how to use them right.

I find that Scorpions are excellent assault back-up. I say this because I normally have them shadow my Banshee's and when the girls rush in, I have them join in to give that extra punch that only an Exarch with a Scorpion Claw (powerfist) can truly deliver!

Keep in mind if you are fighting light armoured troops like guardsmen, gaunts or orks... Scorpions are great on their own because they've got tough armour and plenty of attacks to hand out. The above tactical decision I use most often because most of my opponents are Space Marines and chainswords alone just won't cut their armour fast enough!

When it comes to Spiders, they have a similar role to Scorpions except their support more so comes in the shooting phase because their guns (while lacking AP) are still strong and offer enough shots from a full squad that they can most often soften up a squad before your assault team (in my case usually banshee's or the seer council) rush in to finish off the enemy squad. You can of course arm the Exarch with the powerblades and charge them into alongside your main assault squad should you not have the scorpions to do so as they Exarch tends to take a few lives on the charge quite nicely.!

Similar again to Scorpions, Spider's are also more effective against light infantry because weaker armour saves vs many shots is never a favourable option for the victim!

Well, just gonna say you guys are actually wrong my banshees have never been shot down and the wave serpent has never died. What you do is simply hide for most of the game behind scenery with the jetbikes and whizz down the flank with the wave serpent containing Farseer and banshees, it has NEVER lost.

My farseer has a singing spear (strength 9 against vehicles, ranged and in combat)!

A grenade launcher will instant kill her, as will most weapon that vehicles carry.

Him. That's why you use cover and anyway they have a 4+ invulnerable save and 3 wounds it's fine. If you use it properly, like any army list, you can win easily.

+1
3 wounds don't make a difference to T3.

Well, I asked but all i got was mainly criticism. And three wounds does help a lot.

Not when a weapon is Str6 or above, like a Grenade Launcher is.
Any way, it is constructive criticism, I was simply telling you that the only real anti-vehicle your force has is a transport and Farseer.

Oh sorry didn't know you meant instant kill. My bad. Yeh, but it is only 500 points. So you don't need many, if any, anti-tank weapons.

Thanks you may have improved things for me. I've been losing a lot lately with my Eldar, but have been trying to find out ways to climb back on top
