I've read quite a few SasuNaru fan-fictions where Sasuke and Naruto have been kept perfectly in character. [And Naruto can be quiet when he wants to be. Funny, too. He and Sakura are a lot alike.]
If both of them were gay, Sasuke and Naruto would work fine in a relationship. They are best friends, after all. And good relationships build from good friendship. [Of course Sasuke would have to go through a good number of beatings -- and probably lectures -- to regain that 'good friendship.'] If Kishimoto wanted it to become canon, he could make it fit very well. It would fit right now if Naruto and Sasuke swung that way.

Before anyone asks, no, I don't think either Sasuke or Naruto are gay. I just felt the need to say that.
And don't try to change my mind.. I don't want any "but it'll make them OOC" bullshit.. I'll just ignore it. So ignore this entire post if you want to. I don't care.
I particularly agree with the statement "Good relationships were built on good friendships." You can't have all passion in a relationship. You actually have to agree, or at least agree to disagree, in a relationship, if you want it to work.
