The longer the list got, the more Sim shrank into himself. He hadn't been on the receiving end of most of Komui's craziness, but the stories he'd heard were bad enough. He had yet to see a ghost, too, but his sister Violetta, a nurse at the Order, claimed to have seen one in the infirmary once when she was checking on patients late at night. She wouldn't shut up about it, pestering her younger brother being one of her favorite pastimes, and it had made him avoid the infirmary for a good few weeks.
When she suddenly ran off to the forest and started looking around his eyebrows creased, wondering what she was doing, but when she came back with a few sticks he made the connection. "Ah, magnifico." He exclaimed, taking the stick offered to him and poking a squishy marshmallow on the top. While he watched the pink sweet slowly brown and crisp around the edges by the fire, he turned his head that had been resting on his knees to look at her, cheek now pressed into his knees. "I was wondering, signorina Kiah... why did you join the Order?" For him, it was unimaginable that anyone would want this kind of life without it being forced on them, which is why he had initially been very upset that his sister had studied to be a nurse simply to join the Order so she could be with him.

Sil winced as Lavi’s equally ungraceful detangle, her eyes instantly dropping to the ground as the young man easily slid into a rather convincing lie. If she didn’t know that it was a bull-face lie—after all, his mouth had just been on hers, so she was the expert of the moment— he would have easily convinced her that he was staggering drunk. It always startled her how easily he could slip from one state of being to the next, like he was the star in some grand play while the rest of them didn’t even know that they were actors. Even if it was for necessity, it felt far from wonderful to watch him in action when the truth he covered was his love of her.
Her lips parted, to corroborate his lie with vehemence, but Kyle was quicker to the draw. A long moment paused where she tried to figure out what to do, feeling like a fish simply gaping with her gills after being kicked onto the shore. Of course, Kyle was still fairly new to the Order and he had no concept of Lavi’s job, nor any interest because Lavi didn’t come equipped with a set of breasts. However, all it took was Kyle breathing one word of what he saw in this bar and it could be the end of a lot more than her and Lavi’s relationship. Bookman could rip him out of the Order, away from his friends, away from the only chance he had ever really had to have a stable home, somewhere he could rest his head and drop his guard. Over her and the idiot who just walked in the room.
Quickly, she dashed over to the opposite door and threw herself in front of it, making sure Kyle couldn’t escape from the room. “You don’t understand,” Sil told him sternly, making sure the whole of her body was pressed against the double doors that led off into another part of the hotel. “You can’t tell anyone you saw us, Kyle. I mean anyone. Right now we’re discussing you keeping an dire, important secret because I know you’re not as much of a jerk as you pretend to be… but if you don’t listen I could easily change this conversation to Lavi and I discussing where we’re going to hide your body.” Even though she wouldn’t have ever killed Kyle, not only was he on her list over St. Patrick’s day, but now he had knowledge of a secret that could effectively ruin Lavi’s current life. However, even if she was convincing enough to get Kyle to listen to her, she had no idea what to say, what she could say. At the end of the day, though she kept it locked tight and safe as if it were her own, it was Lavi's secret and it was him that would be hurt the most by it.
