Haro tentatively took a step forward, almost hesitantly as if he were deciding as he did it if it was a good idea or not. The small teen pressed careful fingers against the tiger's shoulders as he leaned forward. If he hadn't been so flustered he might've realized that when Shin was sitting he could see over the top of his head if he tried. "Dont," he whispered, nuzzling against the tiger's neck as delicately as he was able. They had been having so much fun outside and Haro had ruined it all with talking about...things both of them could have easily ignored for a while. "I shouldn't have...started talking about it, it's my fault, you don't have to...be sorry," he murmured, leaning down, hoping to catch the tiger's crystal gaze.

Shin shook his head slowly, though he couldn't help as an emotion as soft as comfort, if not quite so nice, began to seep in through the areas Haro was touching. It always felt so... nice when he was holding the smaller boy -- or even simple moments like that. Wasn't that a bit... odd...? He was... Shin was supposed to look after Haro, to keep him well, to comfort him... And yet he found that it was more comforting to himself than it likely ever was to Haro. Perhaps it was simply because he had, for so long, deprived of even the mere presence of others.

His eyes had risen slowly to meet the other's -- the bright blues hues clear and awake. He offered the other a small smile before mumbling, "No, it's alright. We'll have to deal with this all eventually, won't we? So we might as well start thinking about it now, before anything desperate happens...." That was the sensible, thinking thing to do. The path that Shin would take if he followed his mind. But it wasn't what he truly wanted -- he wanted, if just for a little while, to forget any hurt that might happen in the future, or that had already happened, and just... just be happy for a while, no matter how short lived that happiness might be.

Haro mumbled an affirmative against Shin's hair as he wrapped slender arms around the tiger's neck, giving him something close to a hug as he breathed in softly. It wasn't exactly easy to lean so far against Shin all the while trying not to put too much of his weight on him, which resulted in a very shaky position. His grip tightening slightly to keep himself upright, Haro winced as he shuffled forward to keep himself from falling over, which would end with a chocolate bath...and by no means did Haro want to deal with cleaning off that. "Mm, can we talk more...later?" He asked, his cheeks still a pink-red color.

((S'alright.))

Shin noddled slowly, glad for the excuse to, for at least a while, forget any problems that might occur. He was glad that Haro had asked -- that he himself had not had to because he... he knew he was supposed to be... mature. Grown up. Or at least capable of making reasonable, if not good, decisions. He pressed a gentle kiss to the boy's cheek, his pale fingers running gently through the other's coral, pink, and yellow hair. The image of the pair of them, standing akwardly as they were (though Shin was not standing), the taller male's fingers laced delicately through the other's slightly multi-colored locks, was a picture of sweet, young perfection. A perfect moment that in no way could last forever.

((Hah. I beat you in awefulness by adding cornyness. D< ))

Breathing in, the boy brushed a few fingers through ink-colored hair before twisting his way out of the rather awkward position, one tiny step at a time. After a minute or so of careful foot work, the small teen grinned as he murmured something about Sparrow and waking him up. Before he left the kitchen, Haro put his mug in the kitchen sink, waving a bit at Shin just as he started to scamper upstairs.

Opening the door to his room, Haro frowned. Sparrow looked dead. Laying limply on his stomach, the older teen had part of one leg under the covers while the rest of him was attempting to cram under the pillow for warmth, or so Haro assumed. Poking the bird in his side, the golden-eyed boy leaned over as he stared at the sparrow's face. He looked calm...but not for long.

Jumping on the bed, which for the most part was taken up by Sparrow, Haro shook the older bird lightly. "Hey, wake up," he whispered, sitting back as the dark haired teen jerked awake, recoiling back against the wall with a clearly shocked expression.

"Okay, kid, you really need to stop jumping on me in order to wake me up. You're going to ********' give me a heart attack," he said in a breathy tone, pressing a hand over his chest as he stared at the boy who appeared to be sorry.

"Eh, don't worry, just don't go jumping on me unless I express a need for you to do so, understood? Besides, I don't think that cat would be very appreciative of you tackling me every time you want me out of your bed. I don't want him kicking me out all because of a misunderstanding," he murmured with a laugh, ruffling Haro's head before swinging his legs over the side of the bed. "So, what have you been up to while I snoozed?" He asked, glancing at the bright-eyed teen.

"Me and Shin had hot chocolate and..." Haro stopped suddenly, wondering if he should add the part about kissing. "Uhm, and we were talking and stuff," he mumbled, blushing as he made his way back towards the door. "Shin said you could have some, if you want," he added before darting out of the room.

Sparrow stared at the doorway with a frown. What a weird kid, he mused to himself as he headed down stairs.
[[Haro and Benji, multi-colored hair indeed. :9]]

((Can't really reply to that because I don't feel like RPing housewife!shin.... D: ))

It was cold. Really cold. So cold, in fact, Ea didn't know why he had even bothered to come outside, only it was so stiffling inside that he hadn't been able to stand it any more. The heat of the lavishly decourated mansion had been making him feel mirky, putting him to sleep, as if fiting off normal hibernation instincts wasn't hard enough. Truth be told, Ea hated the cold. He should probably just move to Hawaii or something were he could be with all the other mongoose immigrants, unwanted though they were. Still, he'd rather be outside and alone than stuck in that sauna with his brother. If he was alone, then there was less of a chance for Penn asking him to do some stupid kitten-related chore -- although, he had to admit, it was all rather funny. Ea hadn't told Penn that Liao was like him. A cat. And Penn wouldn't be hearing that any time soon -- though Ea did very much want to see his expression when he found out. It would be oh so incredibly priceless. Penn had always looked down upon his younger brother. Always -- holding his animal features against him as a means for blackmail and slavery. But what would dearest brother do once he found out that Liao, who the auburn-headed musician had had his sights on for the longest of times, was just like his brother? A steady grinned slipped slowly upon the pale teens lips as he brushed a pale hand through bone-white locks. That day would be one he would never forget.

[[GAH. I friggen had this thing half written my piece of crap laptop shut down on me THREE times. >_<;;; Firefox restores your internet stuffs even if your computer crashes but I guess after three times it gave up becuase it didn't restore the text this time, of course.]]

Haro turned, catching Sparrow's hand with a gentleness usually reserved for the tiger. "Can you help me with something?" He asked, looking almost hopeful for a moment as he glanced up at the dark-eyed other, whisking away his own set of golden-amber eyes as he led the older teen to the den. Checking to make sure Shin was no where in sight Haro shifted towards the other bird, his whole demeanor appearing very uneasy. "I just... I mean I know your memory isn't perfect but do you think you...you know how to deal with boy--" He stopped himself, sitting down on the couch, following the other's lead. "Girl friends or whatever," he mumbled before continuing, "Like, how do you know when someone...really likes you at a moment and wants you to kiss them or something?"

The young man dubbed sparrow blinked before laughing a bit, ruffling the boy's multi-colored hair lightly, "Why don't you just cut all the anxiety and guess work and just ask? You'll sav yourself a lot of confusion if you just ask Shin if he would kiss you or if you could kiss him...and I highly doubt he would say no, anyway, unless he was in a bad mood or something," he explained, watching the lovebird's expression carefully.

"So... I should just ask him?" he mumbled, looking lightly confused before the dark bird explained further.

"Before you touch him or even make any sort of romantic move, just ask... 'Would you kiss me?'" He murmured with a grin, "And if he says 'why, yes I do believe I'll kiss you,' you'll know everything is okay and you won't have to guess and put yourself into an awkward position...Besides, it shows him that you want to kiss him which would make any person feel good."

Haro nodded slowly, "What about dates? Do you think...he would like that?"

Sparrow stretched as he stood up, taking the boy's hand in his own as he tugged him upwards. "With my help you'll have that boy begging to kiss you... So how about a date later today?" He suggested before nudging the boy out the door as he cast a nervous glance at the doorway, 'Would it be okay? I just don't know if Shin would like it," he murmured as the bird placed fingers along the boy's hips as he smiled, "Just go get in your cutest outfit and I'll meet you later," he said before whispering, "I'll give you a few pointers before you ask him, okay?"

Haro beamed, his anxious attitude melting at the thought of prompting and help from Sparrow who was older and supposedly wiser than the lovebird. He ought to know a thing or two about this sort of thing...right?

[[Finally found time to finish this thing. x_o;]]

Haro turned back a bit, meeting the other at the doorway, "What should I wear?" He asked with heated cheeks. Sparrow scratched at the back of his head, "Mn, something warm. I don't want you freezing to death on such a special occasion," he murmured with a wink as he nudged the boy up a few steps.

"Are you sure Shin will be okay with it?" He asked slowly, casting ancious eyes towards the kitchen.

Sparrow shrugged, "All you have to do is ask him, if he says yes then it's a date and if he says no then...well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there," he said with a smile as Haro seemed to accept the dark bird's words as he hurried upstairs to change.

Waltzing into the kitchen, Sparrow spied Shin at the sink. Man, that kid did seem to clean a heck of a lot. "Good morning Cat," he said in a, more or less, friendly tone. He had gotten a pretty clear picture of Haro- a relatively submissive attitude, almost to the point of concern, and yet he wasn't sure if he'd figured out this feline completely. Haro could easily be forced into...well, anything, and with his somewhat brotherly affection he held for the younger brd, he had to be at least slightly suspicious of the cat. Why did a cat want to be with a bird anyway? Besides the obvious answer of course. It just didn't make sense to him, unless Shin was horribly desperate for either a friend and someone to care for or simply desperate to get into some kid's pants...but with how soft-spoken and careful he was around Haro he highly doubted the latter.

"So, how did you meet Pinky, anyway?"

Shin glanced up as Sparrow entered the room, his fluffy, striped ears twitching slightly. He usually didn't keep them out, but... with an extra soul within the house, who knew what might happen? -- particularly since Sparrow didn't know about his condition. He finished drying the last of the dishes and set it in its proper cabinet. "Good morning, Sparrow," he replied. "There's some oatmeal left in the pot, if you'd like some."

He stretched slightly after carefully hanging up the dish towel to dry, his every motion slow and full of caution. He settled back down soon enough to his usual good posture, his bright eyes following the line of the counter for a moment before they rested upon the other teen's frame. His long, striped tail twitched slightly and a small, pleasant, and rather bland smile formed on his lips.

"He ran away from a petstore wearing nothing but a shirt in the beginning of winter. He hadn't put his wings away and it was more than easy to smell him.... I figured, with the wayhe was dressed, and how he was acting, that sooner or later someone inconveniant would find him.... So I took him in. We all have to look out for one another, right? At the very least it's best we keep our secrets," he said with a small shrug. It was obvious who he meant by "we" -- all those rather more close to the animal kingdom than the rest of the humans. It was also obvious, though, from the softness of his eyes as he spoke, and that gentle posture of his, that he felt more for the small boy than just a needing to protect the ever pressing secret.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 25, 2007 8:00 pm

Sparrow visibly shuddered at the thought of 'inconvenient' people, "You put that very lightly..." He murmured, dark eyes narrowing a bit before he continued, "I'm sure that kid would've been forced into God knows what-- some sort of manual labor...nah, he's too scrawny for that, someone probably would've just made him into a poor, little sex slave," the bird said casually as he grinned, "Good thing you found him," he added, eying the pot of oatmeal warily. He wasn't very hungry for reasons he couldn't exactly remember-- the sensation was similar to when a word was 'on the tip of one's tongue,' but his brain was doing that and it hurt to think too hard about memory and past.

Just then, Haro peeked his head into the kitchen, "Who are you talking about?" Having switched his sweatshirt for a charcoal-colored sweater and too short pajama bottoms for jeans, the teen looked very much the part of a...almost regular person. Having overhead half of what the two were talking about, the boy wanted in on the conversation.

"You," Sparrow said calmly. "I was just asking Shin if you two were, you know, going at it," he said with a smile, "I was just curious."

Haro stared disbelieving at the other bird, his shocked expression flickering between said bird and the cat. "Uhm...I...I mean, I-- I don't think that everyone has to do stuff like that and-"

The dark eyed teen's grin faded a bit as he interrupted the small lovebird, "It's no fun teasing you, honestly, it just makes me feel so guilty," he murmured before standing up to ruffle the boy's hair. "Just kidding, we were talking about random stuff," he said with a jester-esque smile.

((Imagining Shin's reaction to that makes me want to draw his face all pretty femmy flushy. D: <33333 ))

Shin's bright blue gaze shifted immidiately from Sparrow to Haro as the young teen entered the room, his pesence (and hair) seemingly lighting the room up like some sort of bubbly, emotional lightbulb*. A bright, but still considerably soft, smile lit up Shin's face in response to the other's entrance.

At Sparow's words, however, a bright flush spread over his cheeks, his lips curving down in a surprised, embarrased, and rather conused expression, his light eyes wide. "N-n-n-no!" he stammered adamantly. "Of course we weren't talking about anything like that. Geez, Sparrow, don't give him the wrong idea...." He muttered the last part to the brown-haired teen, his eyebrows knitting together over wide, pale eyes, a small half-scowl, half-pout on his lips. He really did not want Haro to get the wrong idea -- so much that for a moment he let his usual barrier of caution down. If anything, that should have been enough to show how much he truly cared for the both. More than that, though, with that sort of expression, he looked more like someone his age and less like his usual ever cautious self. What was more, if he hadn't been so tall, he might have looked "cute." Rather, with his facial features the way they were, and with his height, he still looked amazingly good-looking -- younger than he usually did, but still more on the 'handsome' side of the scale.

((*Liao utterly fails at being an emotional lightbulb. *smites*

((It's morning, so it's wakey-wakey time! O: ))

So...hot. Stiffling.... suffocating, even. Those were his first conscious thoughts. There was... something... wound -- something holding tightly across his neck, making it increasingly difficult to breathe. It was something soft, something smooth that was slowly eating away his breath -- like those hands....

Gray eyes were then wide open, and he sat up suddenly, bolting up with instant wakefulness. That had... been a bad thought. It hadn't been the hands, though... The small, slender teen carefully unwound his scarf from his neck, which he had carelessly left on when he fell into bath. He... hated not wearing it, even when he was only with himself. He stood up slowly, legs slightly shaky from weakness of both his physical body, as well as the fear that had wakened his from his dream. He made his way carefully towards the mirror and looked upon his reflection a while, his parchment-pale fingers ghosting over his slender, white neck. There were red splotches there from where the scarf had tugged too tightly in his sleep, but even that couldn't hide the large spottings of purple -- two next to each other in the front, and eight on the back, as well as one large one just under his chin, though that had a much more innocent cause. It was not a pleasant sight.

The small teen moved his pale digits slowly to the locks of bright orange hair by his neck and tugged them down, trying in vain to find some way to cover up the bruises. He really did not feel like putting the scarf back on -- not with that dream, and with, he now realised, how stifling hot the apartment had become. Wei really could not stand the cold -- and his heating bill must be something to reckon with.

Liao sighed slightly, wincing as his fingers pressed again one of the painful bruises. He could probably just... pretend they were nothing. The ones on the back of his neck would be hidden by his bright hair -- which was long enough to be in desperate need of a trim -- and the one under his chin were from years of violin practice.... It was the two in front he was worried about. Maybe he could say he fell asleep weird when he was waiting for Wei to pick him up.... The older male probably wouldn't question that, he didn't think.

And so, with that thought in mind, he silently exited his room and entered the kitchen. He was hungry, after all.

Tilting the lovebird's head upwards, Sparrow grinned an unusually bright smile. Although he tended to smile more often than others, it was most commonly a small tilt of his lips rather than a full-fledged grin. "It'd be pretty funny if we were though, hm? And since I got myself all curious now," he started, letting his hand fall back to his side as he gazed down into confused golden-yellow eyes, "Are you and cat going at it?" He asked, tilting a brow as he placed his hands on his hips.

Haro frowned, glancing at Shin before returning his stare at the older bird. "When you lost your memory, did you forget your manners too?" He asked, dropping his gaze before folding his arms over his chest.

-----

Stretching from his rather uncomfortable position on the couch, Benji drifted slowly towards Wei's room. The kitten had decidedly gotten up an hour or so before, the bird figured, as he he had heard small movements every so often within his room. Yawning, the bird shuffled inside the snake's room, his mildly tired expression shifting to amusement as he examined the young man currently tangled up in heaps of blankets. He hadn't been kidding about the heat thing.

Sitting at the edge of the snake's bed, Benji patted the dark man's shoulder several times before whispering a forceful, "Wake up." The orange-eyed male watched with curiosity as Wei breathed in deeply, shifting a bit before an arm shot out, pressing the bird's face into a nearby pillow.

"Good morning, Sunshine," Wei murmured with a smirk as he wrestled the bird against the bed. "Why in hell are you waking me up so early?" He asked over shouted protests. "Don't give me that s**t, Benji, you can breath. You wouldn't be able to talk if you couldn't breath," he muttered as the bird shifted his head, facing the snake with a scowl.

"I couldn't breath well, thank you very much," he said with a frown as he attempted to unlock the snake's arm from around his neck. "And...I woke you up because Liao's up," he explained, sitting up once Wei's grip had loosened. Rubbing his neck, Benji took a moment to smack the other across the head. "You're a b*****d." Wei didn't answer, but the other could feel his smirk growing as he pressed his face into the bird's side. "Would you stop being so ******** creepy?" Benji asked, sliding off the bed with a frown. "I'm going to go check on Liao, but just get up soon," he partially commanded as he exited the room.

Shin flushed once more and was about to object -- except that Haro saved him from that neccesity. He nodded furvently to Haro's words, his brows knitting together slightly as he glanced from the small boy to the older Sparrow. "I really don't think that that area of curiosity will do you any good," he said rather stollidly, his cheeks still quite a surprisingly bright pink -- and with his impeccibly pale skin, the blush showed.

****

Liao had found some eggs and other sparce ingrediants in the fridge (he had been quite relieved to find at least a few vegetables -- some tomatoe and the like, though they were probably only there for the rare occasions of Vi comming over to eat). Yes, he was a spoiled little rich boy, but his rebellion against both parents, particularly his mother, as well as the many times he had either run away from home or been kicked out, had taught him a little something about cooking. More than a little, really, because he quite enjoyed it. It was... peaceful, unlike so many of the thinks back at the mansion.

He flipped the omlette with ease, the relaxed lack of caution showing both his experience and skill with such cooking. After it was done, he turned the heat off, set the omlette on a plate, put the skillet and spatula in the sink with some water so as not to let is harden too much, got a glass of milk, and took his meal to the counter. He set his plate, silverwear, and glass down carefully on the counter and then sat down, unfolded his napkin into his lap, and began to eat. Despite his incredibly small, and rather helpless, appearance, it was evident that Liao was domestically capable -- particularly when it came to food. As long as he had somewhere to stay, he could quite easily take care of himself.

Sparrow shrugged, "Not that I'm aware of, but who knows, maybe on a regular basis I'm your typical gentleman, but for some reason I doubt that," he said with an ever present smile. Glancing at the tiger with an almost apologetic expression, the older teen continued in reply, "I just thought I'd ask. I don't know, sometimes questions itch at my mind and I just have to ask them," he explained, looking back at Haro who look slightly intrigued, bright eyes wide.

"That happens to me, too, sometimes," he mumbled, looking down for a moment before looking up, "And if you must know...No, Shin...and... Shin and-- We're fine with just hugging and stuff," he said in a quiet voice as he played with the hem of his sweater. He'd rather not talk about that sort of thing. "There's lots of other ways to show someone you love them than that," he mumbled, finally alluding in front of Sparrow his relationship with the cat. It was a touchy subject for both of them. Haro figured Shin didn't like talking about it because he was afraid it would make Haro think of Wei and...that was never good in this context, and Haro didn't like talking about it because he felt...guilty about how he had reacted to Benji...and he'd rather not think about that.

----- - - - -

Rolling out of bed, Wei stumbled towards the kitchen, mumbling curses under his breath at the cold. Glancing out the window he frowned at the snow that more than dusted the buildings' roofs. The snake hated meteorologists, half the time they were dead wrong with their predictions and the other half the only thing they could tell you was that it wouldn't rain on a blistering hot day.

Waving a bit at the kitten, Wei opened up the fridge to look for something edible. Fruit, vegetables...and milk. Wonderful, his favorite things, he thought with a roll of his eyes. He swore if Vi kept putting s**t in his frdge he'd threaten to eat him next time he saw the rabbit. He figured it was better than Chang trying to shop though, fish was not his favorite either.

Fingering a grocery bag sitting in the middle of the fridge, green eyes widened as he opened it. Three glorious chunks of unidentifiable parts lay wrapped up in clear plastic bags, just waiting to be breakfast.

Straightening up, the snake turned to Benji, who was currently fussing over the kitten, asking if he was okay and if he was cold and if he was hungry and if he needed-- Blah, blah, blah. Damn, that bird could talk a lot when he wanted to...
