Earendil smiled and held one hand out to catch the flakes. "It's a pity Haldia's still asleep," he grinned, looking over at Lin. "She would love this."
She had been fascinated with snow ever since seeing it at Amon Darthir. Not that there had been much of it.

Lin nodded at that, it was true Haldia was the most interested in something like this.
"Well if it keeps snowing she'll see it eventually and there are still many more chances of snow."
First snowfall of the seasons, she was brought out of her thoughts by poking. Looking down she saw Miyuki trying to show her snowflakes, but they kept disappearing on her.
"Like the snow?" Lin chuckled.
"Hah!"
Miyuki smiled brightly before trying to catch more.

Earendil chuckled. "By the Valar, she's so cute," he grinned. "Absolutely adorable ..."
He grinned at Lin. "And what do you think?" he asked her. "How do you like the snow?"

Lin tried not to giggle at that, to be fair she thought, a lot of things that Miyuki did he thought was completely adorable. Not that she disagreed with him, but he had such a soft spot for her.
"It's very pretty," Lin murmured.
She wasn't really that much of a snow person since growing out of playing in it. Which was ironic considering her last name and that normally it was associated with snow.

Earendil grinned and looked up at the sky again. "It surely is," he said warmly, his eyes shining. He turned back to Lin. "We should see if Haldia is awake yet, I know she would love to see this."
His stomach growled just then, reminding him that it was also time for breakfast.
He chuckled. "Perhaps after we eat then."

Lin laughed at that, "Of course, and by then Haldia will probably be up anyways."
Nothing quite wakes a person up like breakfast she thought.
"Miyuki!" she called out and hoped it wasn't going to be a case of chase after the kitsune again, "Breakfast!"
Somehow, Miyuki understood plenty of words associated with food, which was a good thing because even a hyper active child needed food.
Miyuki's ears perked up at that and came bounding over to her mother. Grabbing her mother's hand and then Earendil's.

Earendil chuckled softly and reached down with his free hand to pat Miyuki on the head. "Yes, yes, we're both coming," he grinned at her. "Come on, I'm sure Haradhel's prepared something delicious."
When they went inside, Haldia was indeed already awake, and had helped Haradhel to prepare breakfast. Her language skills were improving, but only slightly, and though she could make herself understood it was frustrating for her. Still, she could understand others fairly well now, and she liked being helpful when she could be.
"Breakfast is just about ready," she smiled at the three when they came inside. "Go ahead and sit down."
She eyed the snow in their hair, and her golden eyes lit up with excitement. "The snow is here?"

Lin giggled at the look on Haldia's face, "Yes, snow is here. Once we finish breakfast we can go out again."
Even with the cold, it was better to be outside. More room for Miyuki to run around and play, and just burn off that excess energy.

Earendil chuckled. "Just be sure to dress warm," he grinned at her. "It's a bit windy out as well."
"And it's only going to get colder," Haradhel spoke up, bringing breakfast into the room on a tray. "So all of you, make sure to bundle up. And stay near the house, in case it starts coming down very heavily."

Miyuki let go of Lin and Earendil's hands running up to Haradhel. Mindful of what she carried so she tended to skip out of the way, but she looked up at the tray eagerly.
"We will," Lin nodded knowing how quick the weather can change.

Once breakfast was over, Haldia hurried upstairs to dress warmer, and then she was quickly back so that she could go outside with the others.
"I'm ready," she grinned, rubbing her hands together.
Earendil chuckled. He had asked Lin to wait for Haldia to be ready as well before going outside, simply so that Haldia wouldn't feel as if she were a burden, or lonely. "I think we're ready too, right?" he grinned at Lin and Miyuki. "All set?"

Fortunately waiting wasn't a problem, Miyuki had a tendency of pulling off her clothes once she was comfortable and inside. Fortunately the pants will wouldn't come off no matter how much the little girl huffed.
Lin was just finishing fastening Miyuki's cloak back on.
"Ready," Lin grinned, "It always takes a while to get Miyuki ready."
Thank goodness children here didn't wear snowpants otherwise it would be a nightmare.

Haldia grinned at Lin. "Well, at least she'll be warm," she said cheerfully. "Come on!"
Earendil laughed and opened the door, letting the excited night elf out into the snow. And the world was looking rather white already: during breakfast the snow had become thicker, and there was already a thick layer on the ground. When the snow hit skin, it didn't melt right away anymore either: it stayed for a few seconds before fading into a dab of water.
"Wow," Earendil murmured, looking around. "What a change in such a short time."

Lin nodded in agreement as she simply let Miyuki run out after Haldia. She followed hearing the squeals of delight at seeing all that white stuff on the ground. So, Lin wasn't surprised when Miyuki decided it was a bright idea to roll around in it. Besides it was quite cloudy with all the snow, so it wasn't exactly cold perse for those who were use to such weather and well dressed for it.
"Yea, it's the reason why Haradhel wants us to stay close. It could snow more or it could snow less and it can all happen in minutes. Like the way it rained when we saw our first tropical storm."

Earendil smiled, then chuckled softly. "Yes ... that was indeed quite sudden," he murmured. "Still ... it could have been worse. At least we found shelter eventually."
He watched as Haldia knelt in the snow and started playing with Miyuki, and his smile grew wider. It looked like they were having fun.
