"...Snrk."
Watching the drow in their struggle against the mountain of boxes was enough to elicit a snort from the recruit, head lowered to hide the ever-growing grin on her face. This was short-lived, however, as the two soon approached her, and her smile slowly inverted into a frown.
Coline wasn't sure what to make of Cressa's apology. The face she made just then, the way she spoke, along with the knowledge of what she was like just a few hours back... it didn't add up. Still, it was an apology, and it would be rude of her not to acknowledge it. "It's... quite alright. You don't really need to apologize..." she answered, her hand snaking up the back of her neck in discomfort.
It didn't take long for her expression to match her awkward stance and her eyes darted towards the heap of boxes at the center of the cave. Perhaps now would be a good time to change the subject. Pulling out a random phrase from the jumbled mess that was her mind, Coline turned to a more comforting sight--her beloved Captain. "I... suppose you'll be needing some help getting these to where they need to go," she suggested, flashing a sheepish smile. "I get the feeling this isn't where these are intended."

Jessie smiled sheepishly. "Well, actually... as you are here, Coline, then this is exactly where we were meant to end up."
A short silence passed, during which Cressa sighed and knelt up on her heels, looking bored all of a sudden.
"That is..." he continued, sensing that she obviously didn't get it "These gifts are a token of my apology, Coline. They're all for you."
"He went out and bought you the whole friggin' store," Cressa elaborated, scowling all over her face.

...
"WHAAAAAAAAT!?" she blurted out, one hand shooting up to clasp over her mouth. Her wide eyes went from Cressa, to Jessie, to the overwhelming pile of boxes. "Th-Th-This--" she stuttered nervously, slowly lowering her hand. "This--This can't fit into my tent!" her hand made its way back up, now rested upon her forehead. "This can't fit into my room! I don't think all this can even fit into the priestess' house!"
Coline's face the very definition of shock, but her insides were a mix of a variety of emotions. It took a while, but she eventually managed a small fit of laughter. "Haha... You're insane..."
Her expression was, well... she was smiling rather cheerfully, her cheeks tainted heavily with a red hue, and yet somehow her eyes appeared to water. It was a feeling she couldn't quite describe in words. "I don't know what I may have possibly done to deserve all this, but..." clasping her free hand over the other loosely in front of her, Coline took a deep bow. "Thank you very much for your kindness. I'm... truly not worthy."

Priestess' house? I didn't know Lorika had a house of her own...
Jessie's expression cringed apologetically. "I'm sorry. I admit I didn't really think this through very well..."
"If at all," Cressa huffed.
"Yes, thank you, Cressa," was the sarcastic reply, but it was good-natured. She'd been redeemed.
If he could have read her thoughts / hmph, at least she admits she's a worthless little- / he might have been slower to forgive.
As the girl gave her humble thanks, sadness crept into his features - and his heart. "You're wrong, Coline. You're deserve so much more than this. You're worth even more than anything I could ever gi-"
"Welp, I'm bored!" Cressa proclaimed, leaping to her feet. "And I've got a date! You two have fun while I'm gone!"
With that, she bounded out through the mouth of the cave, apparently dragging Drax out of the mountain and with her from the noise.
Jessie turned back to his beloved. Pain was evident on his face. He was upset for her, for the whole situation, and for being too afraid of her reaction to take her into his arms at that very moment. "I... I'm sorry about her..."

Coline slowly rose her head, bringing a hand up to wipe what little moisture there was left in her eyes. "It's alright, you don't need to apologize. I'm used to spite." she reassured, the casual tone of her voice not quite matching the severity of her words.
The moment she had managed to completely compose herself was the same moment she took notice of her Captain's pained expression. Her heart sank. For the first time since they've started seeing each other, Coline rose a comforting hand to cradle the drow's cheek into her palm. "Please don't look so upset..." she said softly, brushing a calloused thumb against his skin. "You've done nothing wrong."

☼"I come from the North, where there is no autumn..."Feline Godess ...She stepped back for the door and waited for the answer to come from within. The only thing betraying her nervousness was her wings twitching behind her. Meta began to huff, loudly. This was too much work for her! She really needed some sous-chefs. She dashed up the stairs to the third floor of the Clurch, trying her best not to upend the lunch-makings from their platters. She finally made it to the top, after nearly upending several priceless vases on the way up. Meta stopped, though, surprised. What was THIS? Another felinid? She hadn't thought there were any more of her kind here. Oh, but wait, she had... wings? "Excuse me miss, but I didn't know there were any other felinids here. What part of the Wilds are you from? I don't think I've ever seen one of my kind with wings before..." "...Where the cold crouches over you like a snow leopard waiting to pounce." ☼

"Just let me give you everything, as I desire..." Jessie's breathing stilled as he felt her hand brush his cheek, and stay there. Opening his eye, their gaze immediately locked. The concern in her blue eyes was both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time.
How he wanted to hold her and wash all the pain away. Instead, he raised his own hand and placed it over hers, resting his head there as if he might drift off into a welcome sleep.
The time they spent like that, in silence, passed all too quickly. Things had to move on.
"Please... don't think too badly of Cressa," he said, taking her hand away to kiss it "She's a good person. What you saw today... that was her being protective of me. It was totally uncalled for and I assure you I let her know just how much her actions had hurt me... but, please. If the two of you could get along it would make me very happy."
"...And believe me when I say that I love you."

"It's not enough to know your limits.. She was not much of a Temple person. Of course she did have her moments of contemplation, not to mention that she also worshiped the Benevolent One. But to actually go to the Temple to contemplate and worship with other people was simply too much for her, too communal.
Though the last few weeks events have been odd for the Order, she found some solace from all the stress and confusion in the silence of the Temple.
As Odin was walking down the path to the building she felt something shift around in the area. It was like someone or something was around, lurking.
She tried ignoring the presence but she felt it growing around her, and it was quite uneasy.
..but to know what you must do to go beyond them."

"In that case, I will do my best." she answered, a warm smile curving up her lips. An opportunity to make it up to him... how could she refuse? Something was telling her it wasn't going to be easy, but it was a challenge she was more than willing to take. Surely Cressa wasn't entirely insufferable? "I just hope she doesn't make a habit of making... startling revelations."
Coline quickly averted her gaze, at the same time scolding herself inwardly for having even mentioned it, and broke away from him to take a few paces towards the mountain of boxes. Her hand slowly crept up her lips again. The sight of it was just... overwhelming. She'd never seen so many presents gathered at one place before in her life, and now that she has she finds out it's all for her. In the past she was lucky to even receive just one.
"This must have cost a fortune..." she muttered mindlessly, eyes trailing one box sliding down on one side of the pile. Despite her awe-struck state she soon found a strange hilarity in the situation. The fawn-haired recruit let out a soft laugh, turning her head to regard the drow with a slight smile. "I hope this doesn't become a regular thing with you, Jessie. Otherwise I might have to start looking for a bigger place to stay."

I don't like to think of myself as "evil," as such... Having dragged the leathered man from the cave, Cressa pulled him through the foliage a short way before stopping. She turned abruptly, pushing him up against a tree.
"So..." she whispered, hands leaping to his belt "Tell me about yourself. Do you make love like an animal, bloodsinger?"
...I much prefer the term "morally challenged." (( Incredibly short post is incredibly short but at least tells us wtf is going on and provides opportunity for further rp~ ))

Do I control the blades in my hands?
Her green eyes danced in his, and her words moved like music, melodious and light. "You will just have to see for yourself," he said, a smile playing on his lips. His arms were around her, and his mouth was on hers within a second after.
Or do they control me?

Feline was so intent upon the High Priestess's door that she did not hear the person approaching behind her and jumped when a voice seemed to come from the back of her head. Quickly turning around she automatically went into a defensive crouch, her tense mood from dreading the encounter with the High Priestess carrying over. Looking around all she saw at first was a tray of food that seemed to have furry legs walking it about. Calming down and realizing that threat was not eminent Feline stood up and was able to see more clearly who had come upon her. It was a cat woman. Feline was surprised to see another. After weeks of thinking she was the only one she had now found two. She quickly sent her magical senses about the woman to see if she too had come from another plane of existence. It was obvious that the cat woman was not from her homeland, but as her energies ran over her, Feline got a clear sense that the woman was as fundamentally of Gaia as were the other humans in the area. Realizing that she was staring her face grew hot with embarrassment, to her great relief the woman's questions bubbled up from the back of her brain and gave her something to break the awkward silence. "Wilds? I'm still very new here and I do not know of this wilds area. I'm sorry for my ignorance." She looked down slightly, her wings fluttering a bit in her confusion. "I was pulled here from my homeland by strong magics not of my making and found myself powerless when I reached here." She looked back up and gestured to her wings, "My guess is that my homeland isn't even of this dimension so that could be why you've never seen wings such as these."Feline realized how rude she was being when she finally saw the heavy tray the woman was carrying and stepped aside so she was out of the way. "I'm sorry to be in the way of your duties." Looking to the door, her nervousness for broaching what was sure to be an unwelcome topic with the High Priestess was beginning to grow again.
