Poole's too much of a badass to hold hands. He'd rather crush them with his awesomeness.

Qyp Well, looks like Mike is no longer safe from the wrath that is Sexual Tendencies. I help more than I hamper, so I'm not worried at all; especially since I might be coming back.

I just want to say something. Your characters are Marines. They would operate and think like Marines. REAL Marines, not hollywood Marines. Unless you have anti-armor weaponry, engaging hostile vehicles is a very bad idea. If you have a dug-in position, lay down suppressive fire and flank. I expect all NCOs (Corporal through Command Sergeant Major) to learn basic squad tactics, as you will be leading fireteams of Marines. A good place to do so is the United Gaian Military Forces. Alternately you could play some of the more realistic tactical shooters out there. ArmA, ArmA II, Operation Flashpoint, Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising, Project Reality (a battlefield 2 mod), etc. These games stress group tactics. You could also simply read books about this.
I understand that this is a roleplay that everyone is participating in on their own time, but as this is a guild based around military units, I expect that anyone above the rank of Private First Class will have a firm grasp of infantry tactics. Additionally, if anyone's character is a higher rank than yours, and they give you an order, you will comply with said orders unless they contradict orders given by an even higher ranking member. Orders can also be countermanded by other NCOs or Officers.
I want you to start portraying your characters as soldiers and sailors, not actors pretending to be soldiers and sailors.

Uhh...should I change my profile, I was now thinking of instead making my marine, a former convict or criminal? You realize that in reality some if not a lot of soldiers may not follow orders at all? I'm willing to bet that given a horrible...horrible situation a marine may tuck tail and flee, abandoning his fireteam....I must ask, what do we do....can I shoot said marine in the head for "deserting"?

I'll be posting in the role play sometime within the next three days or so. Just need to finish reading up on what's happened so far. I'm about half way through right now.

Hegemon, I don't mean any offense when I say it, but I have played many games, such as Ghost Recon, Project Reality, and Rainbow Six. I've seen OF biggrin R and the ArmA games. Squad Tactics aren't new to me, nor am I entirely use to them. But, I will defend myself when I say this: A Prowler, as much as it is a form of APC, its crew is heavily exposed in close-range combat.
In my opinion, the ambush would have been the most tactical move, rather than wait another day, risking ourselves to an ambush. Even dug-in, an ambush, when we least expect it would have been a large loss of men or possible entire defeat. Especially if the armor reached them, rather than them attacking the armor at that close of a range.
But, again, that's my opinion, I don't mean any offense, but I felt we made the right move. Obviously, you didn't, so I can try and change, but that was how my thoughts were flowing.
