[Seems I can make one more post after all. =3]
Shiori watched him through widened eyes as she took another step away, obviously rather scared looking. Her tail tighted around her waist as her ears flattened back even more firmly against her head. She winced slightly as she heard him growling and then stared openly as she saw two more of him appear. [I think that's what you did?] She stepped back even further, but she heeded his advice and her eyes did stay on him, though flicking between the three of them nervously. She didn't really know what was going on, and this was proboably the most anxious she felt since meeting him. She began wondering if by don't let him bite her, was he aiming for her ears like normal or anywhere?
[K, now I'll see you Sunday, or possibly late Saturday. =P]

Both Orthae and Verin clapped at the girls' next display of skill. "My turn again," mused Verin. Orthae held out his arm to stop Verin from attacking just yet. "Hey, Verin, what do you say to us tag teaming this one?" Orthae grinned. "I say: Let's do it." Both equally eager to get this thing started, Orthae and Verin stood side-by-side. Verin held out one arm toward Orthae, speaking, "Haste." The lights in the room dimmed, and a large clock face appeared beneath the two. The arms started moving forward and got faster and faster as the clock face faded. Black Magic has always been known for being showy as well as powerful, and this was one of many spells that had special effects to it. In unison, they charged their targets. The spell's effect doubled their speed, so the dummies' reaction times were cut short. Orthae's scarf was undone and Verin's daggers were drawn, and they both whirlwinded around their targets. They sped back and forth, swapping targets constantly, and their attack zone was a flurry of blurred forms, bright blade flashes, and gleaming cloth. They halted their attack, standing in front of the dummies. They high-fived and the dummies behind them were reduced to tiny pieces of of straw that floated down to the floor and gathered in a pile. Taking a breath, Orthae looked at the girls. "Ready for the next course?"

Sakura pulled out a small cloth from her pack and wiped her forehead free of sweat. Looking up at the guys, she nodded slightly and looked towards Raine. Raine looked as if she were wearing down slowly. Sakura was thankful she hadn't really resorted to weapon use quite yet. "Yes I think so," Sakura said sounding as if she were out of breath. "Though perhaps this should be the last course for now. I believe I'm slowly running out of energy. She ran her fingers through her hair, pulling the rosy locks away from her forehead. She looked over at Raine who looked as if she were preparing for the next course already.

The cleanup-bot sped out of the wall, picking up all the dummy remains. Shock and surprise, nothing needed to be repaired. The sign changed magically once more, and again the four hatches in the floor opened up. But what came up wasn't your average straw dummy. Though still the same size, these dummies were robotic and red and silver in color. Each had arms that ended in a pair of wicked-looking metallic claws, and they didn't look like they'd be easy to take down. Verin walked over to the sign and read: "'Course X: Special Expert Course' - Congratulations, you've excelled through the tests so well, you've been granted the opportunity to take the Special Course. Before you stand four dummies. Completely different than the standard straw dummy, these dummies have the intellectual ability to dodge, defend, and retaliate against any attacks they receive. They are extremely resistant to both magical and physical abilities, and won't be destroyed without a fight. Push yourselves to your limits and thensome, and good luck on completing the course.' Well...how's that for a pep talk? Looks like we've got a challenge on our hands. I'll take out the first one."
Verin held out his hand, and again it became encased in fire. One dummy beeped and whirred to life, the visor that was it's eyes turning green. A brighter green dot moved side to side on the visor, like something you'd see in a Sci-Fi film. "Chath—" BAM! Verin hardly got the first word of the spell out before the robot stiff-armed him in the stomach. Time seemed to slow for that brief moment, Verin coughed up some blood that splattered over the dummy's cold, metal cranium, and when time caught back up, Verin was sent skidding backwards on his feet and into the wall. Picking himself up off the floor, he clenched his stomach, coughing. He looked up at the robot with rage and vigor in his eyes. "That was cheap. Even for a dummy. But if that's how you wanna play..." He held out a hand to his side and a sword materialized. He charged the dummy and swung the sword so fast it was almost impossible to see the strike. But the dummy was faster. It blocked the decapitating strike with its forearm, and blocked the next surprise strike with its calf. With two retaliations in order, the dummy pulled a Law move that seemed to be taken right out of Tekken. It grabbed Verin's sword wrist and, turning its back to him, pulled Verin's arm over its shoulder. The dummy elbowed Verin in the chest and then hit him again with the back of its metal fist, sending Verin into the wall adjacent to his previous crash. The dummy didn't even have a scratch on it yet.
Verin got up again and went full on the offensive. He blitzed the dummy and, not bothering with anymore weaponry, caught it in a grapple where their hands were pressed against one another, both trying to make the other struggle into giving in to the next move. The dummy started overpowering Verin, but then its arms began to ice over. Soon, they were completely frozen through and through. Using this golden opportunity, Verin crushed the arms of the dummy, making the metal explode all the way up to the elbow, leaving nothing but useless stumps with dangling wires. Verin had the advantage...Or so he thought. He made a grab for the robot's head, attempting to end the fight, but the armless dummy, parried the grab with its foot and gave Verin a one-two kick to his chest and the side of his head. (Keep in mind, these dummies are made of metal, and I don't care if you're immortal or not, that has to hurt.)
Verin landed on the ground, skidding across the polished wood floor on his side, until he came to stop. And 'coming to a stop' meant crashing rather forcefully into a rack of armor. Pushing the pile aside, now struggling to stand, Verin managed to get back to his feet and, a plan in mind, rushed the dummy again. He struck at the dummy's metallic torso, which it blocked with its calf. Expecting this, Verin shot out his other hand and got ahold of its head. It couldn't very well block that, else it would've been pulling its feet out from under it. The dummy's metal skull froze over and shattered under Verin's grip. Verin had won, but he hadn't finished. He placed his other hand flat on the chest of the totalled dummy and cast one final spell. "FLAMGRA!" The dummy's chest exploded, hurtling its upper half (now with a large hole in the chest), lower half, and legs in multiple directions. Now Verin was finished. Staggering backward, his back hit the wall and he slumped to the ground. Breathing heavily, and sort of looking like he had just had a fist fight with a Kung-Fu-Fighting Godzilla, Verin coughed, "Y...Your turn, Orthae. Kick some a**...If you need me, I'll be resting." He chuckled weakly as he closed his eyes, needing the moment's rest.
It had all happened so quickly at first, Orthae had been too stunned to help. When it finally registered with him that the fight was over, Orthae ran over to his downed brother. Placing a hand on Verin's shoulder, Orthae focused and worked his magic. Verin's bruises disappeared, and he looked just as he did before the fight, minus the now-tattered clothes. That was all he could do, Orthae knew it. The bruises were gone...
But Verin was going to be sore as hell when he woke up.

"Sakura," Raine said picking up her crescent blades. "Perhaps we should work together with these dummies." Sakura gave her a nod and looked at the two dummies standing in front of them.
Keeping her guard up, Raine approached on of the dummies intent on being the one with the first blow. However, she was wrong, the dummy before her believed it was first. Attempting to strike her in the face, she caught it's arm in a tight grip between her blades and quickly sliced it off. As it came down and swiped at her with the other arm she shot out a large ice blade at it. Backing up a little ways she pondered the way she could get the dummy to finally go down. Raising her hand into the air, Raine began to say a spell for one of her most powerful ice storm spells. However before the entire spell came out the dummy punched her hard in the stomach, throwing her clear across the room. Hitting the wall on the opposite side of the room, Raine slowly dropped to the ground attempting to catch her breath.
Seeing this, Sakura became enraged. She did not want to see her best friend treated as if she were a ragdoll. Her eyes went completely black as she began chanting something in a foreign tongue. What she said sounded if it wasn't even human much less a language. Suddenly the room completely black except for a red glow that Sakura seemed to be omitting. Her wings fully extended, she knew this would cause the second dummy to attack but felt that even so it would get rid of both in one blow.
After she finished her chant, Sakura's eyes glew bright red. A mist filled the room and a unnatural eerie feeling caused Raine to shriek from where she was sitting. The glow from Sakura's wings and the mist that floated around caused the spell Sakura had been chanting to become known. Sakura had summoned four of the most powerful spirits in the netherworld. They stood, one to each side of the dummies, as well as one to the front and one behind. Sakura said one word after they appeared, "Zetsumei."
Zetsumei, the most powerful spell in her knowledge to date. It was called "the death spell", however the spell towards anyone else would cause great damage but would not kill. But she felt that the dummies would have no way of reacting towards this sort of spell. The word itself was a command for the spirits, they immediately surrounded the dummies in a bright white light. The dummies made no sound, however when the spirits' light finally disappeared and the light came back inot the room, the dummies lay in pieces on the ground.
Raine gasped looking at Sakura who was suddenly approaching her. Offering her hand, Sakura helped Raine up off the floor. "But," Raine said bashfully. "Thank you, Sakura." Sakura simply smiled, "No one treats my friends like that. Even if they are a dummy."

Orthae was in both in awe at Sakura's spell and a bit on the angered side. It made him mad when people harmed his friends or his brother, no matter who they were. Orthae knew it was his turn, as three dummies lay dismantled and one remained inactive. That one was for him. Orthae got to his feet and took the scarf off his neck again, preparing to face the last of the dummies. Seeing how Verin had gotten pretty beaten down by just one, Orthae was nervous. Verin was stronger than him, both physically and magically. The only upper hand he had was the mysterious art of Material Manipulation, and that was more than enough. Remembering just what he could do, Orthae's nervousness ebbed away, and he had a surprise in store for the dummy.
Orthae approached it, and the dummy clicked and whirred to life, the green visor eyes lighting up and looking over its opponent. Orthae's eyes shone with a peculiar light blue light, and then it faded. Perhaps something had happened? Seeing the light as a telltale sign of attack, the dummy sped forward with all speed and laid a punch into Orthae's stomach, or so it thought. Upon contact, the dummy's hand was mulched into limp scrap metal all the way up to the elbow. Striking Orthae had been like striking a wall made of diamond. Using this brief opportunity, Orthae wrapped the scarf around the entire length of his arm. He hardened the soft fabric and caught the robot in the stomach like it had tried with him. Quickly registering the assault, the robot grabbed Orthae's arm. But it had been two seconds too late. The force of Orthae's punch bore a hole through the robot's torso. Using its mechanically enhanced intelligence, the robot ran a trial-and-error program in a split second and came to a conclusion.
Orthae's clothing may have been hardened, but he still weighed the same amount.
The robot grabbed ahold of Orthae's arm, and used its other arm to grab ahold of his leg. Picking Orthae up off the ground, the robot spun its torso until it had the desired amount of momentum...which was a lot. Caught off-guard, Orthae had lost his grip on the diamond-cloth spell...so whatever was about to happen, he knew it was going to hurt. The dummy let go of Orthae, who then sailed across the room and smashed into a steel rack of weaponry. Not finished yet, the dummy sped over and grabbed hold of Orthae's ankle, it swung him like a doll and bashed him against the wall, then from the wall, with the strength of a giant, into the floor. The impact put a nice dent along with cracks into the floor. The machine stomped a foot onto Orthae's chest. Coughing up blood like Verin had, Orthae also could've swore he had heard some of his ribs crack. Despite how beat up he was, Orthae still had a chance at something...
Lifting him again, the robot slowly began building up momentum again. Not willing to be tossed about like a load of laundry, Orthae managed to catch hold of the dummy's arm. "Mini!" He cried. The robot began glowing, and it stopped spinning to register the new offense. Unfortunately for it, as it was doing so, it was shrinking. It became the size of an action figure! Getting to his feet, although the struggle required to do so was great, Orthae looked at the dummy, now reduced to the mere size of a toy, raised a foot, and did the simplest thing. He smashed it. Orthae had won, but at a great cost, as one could see just by looking. Chuckling, he looked at the girls, feigning a smile. "Yeah...I think that...should be the last course...for the day..." Orthae fell to his knees and then forward onto the cold, wood floor of the Training Hall. "Ow..." He groaned.

After Orthae's turn was over, Raine rushed over to where he had dropped to the ground. "Are you alright," she said almost sounding like a little girl. "Can you stand? Can you walk?" Sakura walked up behind Raine and looked down on Orthae, offering her hand to help him up. "Raine, perhaps we should just take him to the medical building before you start freaking out." Raine quieted down some and said, "But how do you plan on getting him there if he can't walk?" Sakura looked back at Verin, "Are you able to carry him if he can't walk?"

Cid returned from his long trip he had to take to Baron. He walked to the wall he had punched along time ago. He felt better now that he was back though thoughts of shino and how she had been the past few days had bugged him now. He looked up at the wall feeling like punching it again when suddenly a shadow appeared behind him looking exactly as he was. It was not his own though. Cid went to punch and was met by the shadow's fist hitting his. He attacked till he was knocked against the wall and a sword was stabbed through his chest. He hung 4ft off the ground impaled by a sword he had never seen before as blood dripped down it and to the floor. All he could think about was why and who would do this to him but come to think of it, he had multiple enemies. He dismissed all thoughts about who it could have been and thought about shino, he thought about her only now. "Shino, I.....want to see.......you one last time," he said as blood began to drip from his mouth.

Michael entered the trainning area looking for Carly who he hadnt seen in three days or two maybe. He didnt care to notice Cid's impalement in the wall as he searched the rooms looking for her and to accept her challenge aswell. Michael wanted to at least see her today but from the looks of things he wouldnt get his chance. He opened every door trying to find her but left the ones alone that had fighting in them. He wasnt wanting to mess anyone's concentration up today.

He looked at her lightly as he continued towards her. 'Wait, is she going to just stand there. C'mon do something Shiori.' He knew that this was her first time in combat so she was scared of him. He stopped and stood to his feet looking at her lightly. "Ok, it seems that you are afraid of me. So let me show you how it is when your fighting a strong foe. I will deminstrate with Hieii."
Hieii sighed lightly and then moved Shiori out of the way so Arashi and him could fight. He took off his cloak showing his body and his tape wrapped hands. One of his arms had a tattoo of a dark dragon, it was an attack he held with him. He took off the sheathed sword and through it to the side. 'Anytime you are Arashi.'

Cid looks up, blood still dripping from the blade. He looks into shinos eyes, "just pull it out of me and I should be fine shino." Cid looks at shino with emotionless eyes as the blood from his impaled sword still drips to the floor. Cid looks down at himself withhis hazey eyes and smirks, "what a situation I have got myself into huh?" He tryed to pull the sword from his stomach out but couldnt at his angle and loss of strenght. Cid blasted the sword a little out but it wouldnt come out all the way, he looked up at Shino, "please help me...get this...out," he said as more blood roled from his mouth slowly.

Carly saw Micheal looking for her, and hid behind a wall. "Heh, come to challenge me...i hope," she tip toed out, and jumped on his back, "I GOTS YOU!!!!" She screamed. She jumped off him, and stood in back of him, "So? We gonna fight, or what? I've been bored as hell!" She knew he was probably alot stronger then her...but fighting him would make her stronger. Like they say, what dosent kill you, makes you stronger...or breaks your bones.

Michael grinned, "exactly why I wanted to find you, I was hoping you and I could spar alittle," he was glad to see her again, he turned to face her. "When do we start," he said putting his sword against the wall. He really wanted to see how much of a fighter she was, it was something he looked forward to. Michael smiled at her beauty as she stood now infront of him.
