"It's alright, Sore, but it will be fine. It's just below my shoulder, where the bone broke, so the cast is a bit troublesome."
His other arm was alright enough for him to left the spoon to his mouth, and so he did that task on his own. As much as he loved Raquel, he wanted to do this for himself.
"My leg's much the same. Though have you been sleeping and eating as you should?"

"I've been sleeping just fine." She smiled with a stretch. "And I just had a muffin, and not hungry really..." She added, trying to underemphasis her eating habits. Raquel had been thinking about it, and found a way around the problems in her head. It wasn't a permanent fix, but enough of one to last her long enough to do some research. But it was nothing she'd worry Damian about.
"But I'm not the one in the casts remember??" She asked jokingly, poking his nose sweetly.

"That doesn't matter. You should still be taking care of yourself."
Damian tried to bite her finger, but was unsuccessful. If he was better, then maybe he would have just pinned her and kissed her or something, but he just couldn't.
Lorey let out a content sigh with her empty plate in hand. This was a luxury she knew she couldn't take for granted, but couldn't help but think it was normal by now.
"Darling, hug me. I'm going to miss you terribly when you go back." Lorey gave him a mock pouting face and open arms.

"Don't worry about me. I'm in control of that, you just focus on yourself for once hm?" She smirked, cocking her head as she took a bite of some warm bread she had brought along for him, though set it down again, laying back. "Don't forget to drink all of that..." She pointed to his drink. "It has some medicine in it, but I assure you, it's tasteless...at least thats what the doctor told me." She smiled, glancing up at him.
Richard smiled, wasting no time at all in coming up to hug her. He gave her a silly bear hug, swinging her around like a rag doll before setting her upon the counter, looking smug but mischievous. "And I you darling, but it won't be too long I promise! After all of this, you wont be able to get rid of me as hard as you try!" He smiled at her, his eyes kind and loving, a spark of life in them whenever he looked at Lorey happy like this.

Damian held the glass up to the light. His gaze was piercing and suspicious. "I'll believe you..."
And with that, Damian chugged it all down in a few seconds, grimacing once he was done at the not-so-subtle taste of the medicine. After spending so long in the hospital or so he felt, he could detect what others could not.
Lorey laughed and kept herself from screaming outright at his spinning her around. Once sitting safely upon the counter, she was all smiles and cuddles.
"Why would I want to do that? I love you too much to get rid of you!"

Raquel sat up, trying not to laugh at his face. "Guess he was...wrong?" She asked innocently, cocking her head at him. "How's the soup though in comparison?" She joked smiling at him lovingly.
Richard nuzzled her nose with his, leaning in for a lovely kiss. "Trust me, there will be a time you'll want a break. I've been told I'm terribly boring company for too long my dear." He chuckled, leaning against the counter to kiss her again.

"The soup is wonderful. That was disgusting."
He placed the glass down with the look that he never wished to touch it again. Next came a bite of the buttered bread, and a bit of the soup. That was so much better than drinking medicine, and it showed on his relieved face. "Thank you, again. I don't think I could say it enough, really..."
"Boring company? But even when we're just sitting together doing nothing, I love having you by."
Reading, especially, was something they could do together. Richard might be preoccupied with something else of his own, but just being in the same room was calming and enough.

Raquel sat on one foot to be more comfortable, just looking at him. "It's fine...if anything... I love this... I feel like I get to repay you for all that you've done for me..." She smiled distantly, her mind swarming with warm memories of when he took care of her.
From the first time they met, when he got her ice for her face, and a simple aspirin, how she thought that was so valiant. Then, after he accidentally shot her, how he sat by her and told her he loved her for the first time...then shortly after, when he cradled her to sleep after she had been 'talked off the ledge' literally...
All of that and the basics he had provided for her all this time, and promised to continue to do so... She never thought she'd be able to return the favor until now. Being able to help nurse him back to health... it gave her... purpose. A purpose other than just loving and being loved. A purpose that even her music didn't compare to. Feeling... needed. It was lovely. Despite how they ended up here.
Richard smiled, kissing her again. "You have a wonderful knack at making me smile..." he cooed, shaking his head. "And I too enjoy moments like that... just...simply being with you. Its so....wonderful..." He smiled into her neck, giving her a soft kiss there as well.

"Well you may love this," he said as he finished off his food. "But I despise it. I feel useless and guilty that you have to coddle over me and not do anything for yourself that you'd like."
Maybe it wasn't that extreme, but Damian felt it to be that way, and when he had a bad idea in his head, it took a bit to get it out.
Making him smile was something she knew how to do best, and it had nothing to do with cleaning at all.
"Richard, I love you. I love you, so much..." Lorey nuzzled into him and curled her arms in to feel protected. After all that had happened, Lorey loved feeling safe.

Raquel cocked an eyebrow. "Not do anything I like-...?" She let that mull around in her head a moment, before snapping her fingers. She came up next to Damian, taking his face in her hands, and kissing him passionately. She let it linger for a good while before pulling away breathless. "Ok. I've done all I want to do. Now what?" She asked, cocking her head and smiling. "Oh...hm, i guess I could take care of you some more..." She smiled sweetly.
Richard closed his eyes, a soft, happy smile still on his face as his arms wrapped around her like a blanket. "I love you too... my bride..." He whispered, his voice catching on the word. Lorey... his little flower, here in his arms... she was his bride.

"That... wasn't what I was talking about," he said. His cheeks has gone just the slightest pink when she took his face and kissed him. That reaction was becoming more commonplace, and it worried him slightly. What was making him change like that all of a sudden?
And then he looked at the ring upon her finger, and he knew.
"My groom. My Richard." Yet again, all the emotions they'd ever gone through poured into her heart again. All the adventures, the terrors, and there they were.
"When I'm old and wrinkled, will you still feel the same?" she wondered aloud. Richard may have been destined to look better as he got older, but what of her?

Raquel smiled shyly, her eyes still closed. "Well, its still more than enough for me..." She wanted to kiss him again, but her hot neck told her no. She opened her eyes, gently noting the pink in his face and smiling lightly as her hand unconsciously reached out to touch him. "Though...if you are so concerned with that... why don't i just study and what not while you rest?" She asked sighing, knowing Damian wouldn't let this rest until she found some sort of compromise. "Actually I was hoping to do some research on something... do you have like a laptop or anything I could use?" She asked, getting down on her knees and resting her head on her arms, smiling up at him.
"Of course I will!" he exclaimed, sitting up right, acting mock insulted. "I may forget where I put my teeth, I may forget what it feels like to stand erect, but mark my words, I'll never forget how much I absolutely adore you!" He placed his hand on his heart, the other out stretched dramatically as he made his speech. "And I will still grab you, and kiss you with as much passion a ninety something year old man can exert!" He added, his extended hand pointing to the sky.

"I do. It's over there, on my desk." Damian pointed to a small bureau against the wall where a small laptop lay. It was as thin as a manilla envelope, but could perform just as well as the other, larger model he had in his study.
Lorey was laughing herself nearly right off the counter and blushing at his show.
"Which can't be all that much, but I'm sure when we're ninety I'll still think you're something."
She suddenly pulled herself together, and with a serious expression said, "But sir, what if some other dazzling young girl comes your way, and she sweeps you off your feet with everything I have to live without?" With her hand over her own heart, she seemed like an actress of some sort.

Raquel glanced over and nodded, smiling back at him. "See? Now while you sleep, I can just read and do research. It all works out so stop worrying yourself and get better." She pouted but leaned forward to kiss his nose.
"That would never happen, because no other woman has your grace, your smile, your hair, your eyes...." He stroked her face gently before continueing. "Nor you sweet, yet hardworking persona, your ability to make me feel like I'm a 13 year old boy, and ecspecially not your love..." he let that trail off, a million more things no other woman had still in line behind it.

Damian sat up just a bit as she went on the laptop. "There's a password," he said. "It's... here, bring it over. It won't make sense if I say it out loud."
"Grace?" Lorey laughed. "I never thought I was very graceful. But thank you..." Her fingers reached up to fiddle with his hair a bit as she smiled in a serene sort of way. "No one's hair falls around their face quite the way yours does. No one has your eyes, or the way they seem so big and brown when you're looking at me. I think you have a cute nose," she said, kissing it. "And I love the way your lips look. I always want to kiss them." And so, she did, sweetly and just like she did when they first decided to be together.
