" YOU!? But why? " the Admiral said in shock, as Angel stood before him on the bridge, everyone else having been evacuated after they ran out of droids to protect the ship. " Forming the Federation was a mistake, and now it's time to correct it. " With the help of the Force, she began to persuade the Admiral. " I know it's weird us meeting face to face like this now, especially after you've served me well, but times have changed. Now, I need you to over-ride the security measures and have manual flight control access to your terminal. " " Yes... I will get manual access from this terminal... " he said, his state of confusion and mild panic making it easier to control him in this manner. A few command codes entered, and it was done. " Good, now go get yourself to an escape pod. I'll take over from here. " Angel said. The Admiral evacuated as told while Angel changed the flight path of the SD, sending it on a collision course with another, with a timer to self destruct the moment of impact, to make sure both SDs are destroyed in case the target one moves a bit so the impact alone doesn't do it. The SD now on its final flight path, Angel quickly made her way back to her ship and flew out of the hangar, and immediately commed Mordranna. " Keep your eyes on the SD I just vacated and you'll get to see what happens when one SD tries to cuddle with another. " She watched from a safe distance as the SD made its way to the other, and it exploded on impact, the self destruct having been triggered, and both SDs were taken out, along with several bombers and fighters that were too close to the area. After seeing it, she flew to the defensive perimeter to help hold the line.

Mordranna commed Angel. "Yes. Those Star Destroyers definetely got a bit close for comfort." She commented, as Angel's ship took it's place in formation.

(( Oh yeah ... should the Federation fleet be retreating at this point, or are they more about a fight to the death? And, should I have Mordranna offer a chance of defecting and so forth? Meh .. probably worded that awkwardly ... ))

a thick blanket of dust coated the darkened interior of a room long abandoned. chairs lay knocked over, items discarded, and anything lightweight of value was long gone. Time seemed content to let the place be.
Other parties weren't.
The Door of the room, long since without power, suddenly was forced open from the outside. Not just forced, but shattered. the duraplast fragments scattered across the room as exterior light shone in.
Rak stepped back from the door frame and flexed his massive arms, eliciting a sigh from Cale who flicked on a glow rod and stepped inside.
"You didn't have to break the door scales-for-brains. Thats one more thing we'll need to get replaced in this place." The Pirate moved to one of the control panels in the room and dusted it off.
Cambot hovered in behind him and began scanning the dank room.
"Oh lovely. simply lovely. we'll just hang some drapes over these consoles, and I think a lovely floral print and some potted plants would just brighten up the room." the droid said in an all too obviously sarcastic tone.
"Can you shut up please? Im trying to firgue out how to get the powerplant working again." Cale Forwned as he familiarized himself with the controls. "Crap. They shut everything off. Not even a standby was left on. Rak, go down to the generator and hit the ignition. We'll have to start it up at the source."
"Where's that?"
"I dunno. Check the alcoves in the Hangar or way in the back of the base. You'd think they'd have signs somewhere in this base." The man shrugged and shined his light around the room as the reptiloid walked off to find the power.
"I can't belive you dragged us all the way out to this rust hole. If you wanted a base so bad, why not just operate out of that crappy-yet superior to here- freighter you jacked? or somewhere where we can actually SELL the stuff in it? Like Vergresso or Ord Mantell, Or pretty much anywhere else for that matter." Cambot flitted about the room in a state of mild annoyance as it examined the obsolete computers and terminals that made up the command center of the base.
Cale leaned on the control panel and smirked at the droid. "Small wonder why I'm the Captain here. Its simple Shockball. If we go and dump all that ore on the back water worlds we're most likely gonna do buisness on, someone might get suspicious as to where we got it from. Besides, we can use that stuff ourselves when we refit that Cargo hauler and fix up the base. The reason why we need a hidden base is because 1. If we keep on the move the whole time, we'll tire ourselves out and put undue strain on our ships. Besides, I'd rather fix a damaged ship somewhere where I don't have to worry about breathing. 2. If we hole up in a civilized port we'll have no end of bounty hunters and cops meddling in our affairs. plus we put the locals at risk when more violent enemies come a'calling."
The droid mulled over that info and turned to gaze back at Cale. "So where'd you hear of this place?"
Cale sneezed, and shook his head. "Damn dust. Oh, I bought a guy a drink back on Vergresso. I mentioned I was looking for some vintage clone wars hardware and he told me about a pre yavin rebel base that might have what I was looking for."
"How'd he hear of it?"
"He heard it from a fellow who heard it from another guy who heard it from a drunken ex-rebel."
The droid fixed him with a disbeliving gaze. "You gambled on the unlikely chance that this place would still be here after twenty years?"
"Yep. The guy didn't really think it would still be here." Cale grinned triumphantly. "Guess I showed him."
"I am really having a hard time understanding how you've managed to live this long."The droid muttered.
Just then the lights came on. One by one the computers flicked on into stand by mode and the sensor map lit up with images of the immediate solar system.
Cale drew his flask from his jacket and saluted the droid. "Welcome to Skull Base my mechanical minion. Feels good to be home." With that the outlaw proceeded to drain the flask dry.
"How can it be Home?" the droid asked. "We just got here."

((they've lost the Black Void, their leader is MIA and thru succession, their leader is Admiral Traer. I'll put in some filler))

Admiral Traer watched as Red Tempest plunged into the Black Void, and a huge explosion destroyed over five capital ships, along with several fighters.

"Lord Imperius and Lady Valycia have been defeated," he said, pointing to the debris of the Black Void.

"Authorize a retreat. Those who stay behind are no longer welcome in my Federation. We will return to the Remnant and ask to be pardoned."

"It looks like that is that," Mordranna commented, as the last Federation ships made hyperspace to wherever they were going. She had also noticed a few escape pods making their way towards Yavin. "I guess there are a few whom still wish to go to the light," she said, comming Angel. "Shall we give them a warm welcome?"

" Sure, but I gotta go see if Phoenix is okay. " she said, flying towards the Kapella. After docking, she went inside it and went to where Phoenix was. Although she was happy to see he was still okay, besides being unconcious, she wasn't able to smile. She was thinking about Neb, and how she wished he didn't have to sacrifice himself. " Neb... You were a good man to the end, and even saved a few along the way. Clear skies, my friend. " she said quietly.

"That's a load of crap," Hudson replied. "Don't you know? No life forms were aboard the Tempest when it crashed. The barve probably is pulling the same trick as Rendar did at skyhook. Plus, he's a Jedi. If he's alive, that's great, if not, even better. As a Jedi, life and death are the same. No matter the outcome, its always a win-win."

Hudson took no time to change subjects however.

"Pheonix is being looked after. we have no medical droids aboard, but he's probably fine. We'll be entering the atmosphere soon of Yavin, but don't worry, Gunny will fly your ship down. You should stay by your own concerns. Mostly because of this."

Hudson presented a squarish boxlike thing, which to any jedi or sith was instantly recognizable.

"Its a holocron. horribly made, granted. Neb's wishes. I know not what it contains, but it should have something of value for you two. But in the meantime, Skywalker will probably want to talk to you. Same with Mordranna. But one thing: That saber, the one that was Neb's, you're stuck with it. A Jedi never gives his saber up without a fight, or completely willingly. It is a bond which he entrusted to you. You are its guardian until he requests it back. Keep it safe, and it will never fail you."

With that, Hudson returned to the bridge of the ship.

It seemed that, indeed, the battle was over. Wedge recalled his Rogues to the Lusankya, and Mordranna did the same for her Squires, as well as all other Republic fighter squadrons that remained. Sure, a few were lost to the forebodding Black Void. But then, the bulk of the fighters survived, as the nightmarish station was otherwise occupied with defending itself.
Neb is gone, Mordranna sadly shook her head.
The Squires approached the Hope Eagle, and, one by one, they docked, as Mordranna flew a lap or two around the frigate. "Take five, Squires. You earned it," she told her squad, with as much cheer as she could muster into her voice.
"You coming, boss?" Johnny chimed in.
"It seems I have business on Yavin," Mordranna told Johnny. "Anyway, you guys enjoy the downtime. No telling when another Black Void will rear it's head." she replied with a humorless laugh.
"Clear skies, boss," Johnny commed as he docked. Mordranna then formed up with the Kapella.
"How's Phoenix doing?" Mordranna commed the Kapella. Granted she'd hoped that Neb somehow made it, but she didn't wish to get her hopes up. Deep down, she' always known that Angel was good, and it would have been nice to talk to her. And, from her time aboard the ship, that Hudson fellow seemed nice enough. Heck, she'd have even settled for talking to Gunny, even though he was a bit strange.

"Pheonix is fine. Neb is as usual taking his sweet time getting his a** back. This is the reason Labrynth kicked him out, always being philosophical and wasting time doing nothing. Seriously, we have more important things to do than sit around for our transfers," Hudson replied, sighing.

"Commander Skywalker will be talking to you later today. I suggest you head to the praxium and freshen up until then."
PostPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2006 8:26 pm

"Thank you, Hudson." Mordranna replied. I hope he's right, she silenty mused. "Tell Angel that I'll met her and Phoenix at the Praxeum?" she asked the Mon Cal in a friendly manner. With that, she brought her fighter towards the green planet.

Within the course of an hour, Mordranna had washed up in the 'fresher facilities, and donned a fresh clean robe and tunic. The quarters assigned to her seemed sparse, but they would do for her purposes. She then went to the small crate which was stored in the sparse cargo compartment on her fighter, and unearthed something that, while it may not have meant much to most anyone else, it was an object that held great joy and significance to her: a small panda plushie, that was given to her by Sami. She eagerly cradled the plush toy.
At that, Tionne entered the room. "General Brunhildt. A pleasure to see you again," she bowed to Mordranna, speaking in her kind, mellow musical tone.
Mordranna clutched her plushie to herself, blushing. "Ah, Tionne! A pleasure as well." She then went to her cot, laying down the plush. "Ah yes ... I'm here to see Master Skywalker, at his convienience."
Tionne gave a bow. "Certainly."
Mordranna bowed in kind. "Thank you." She then gestured to her plushie. "Umm ... could you not mention that to him?" She mildly blushed and giggled with slight embarrassment.

(( And, that's pretty much all I have 'til epilogue! ^_^;; Mordranna sure likes plushies, eh? 3nodding ))
