Hello! This RP looks fun and I'm interested in joining, but I'm not too sure whether it would be easier to work in a marine or pilot character. I'm about to go to bed, but any help any of you could offer would be nice!

It all depends on your preferences. I am the head of the pilot section, and the pilot arc of the story is quite active and hosts a lot of opportunities for character developmental and inter-character interaction. The marines offer character interaction as well, but, call me biased, I prefer the pilot section.
If you do intend to make a pilot, join Green Squadron(my squadron). Whatever your intentions are, Battle Hymn of the Republic is a wonderful experience to take part in, we are long running and consist of a cast of very dedicated role-players, and we host diverse opportunities perfect for role-players looking for an experienced and professional group to work with. You will not be disappointed in joining. I have been working with this roleplay since page four and have been working with these guys for almost 4 years.
Whatever your intentions, submit your character to our thread in the character development forum. I look forward to seeing your submission.

Our character thread can be found here: Hymn Character ThreadThank you for showing interest! This great, lumbering beast of an RP has been my labor of love for the past Four years, and i've been trying my hardest to make sure my players are satisfied. At the moment, I would suggest making a pilot character, as there are currently more people willing to help with them available, though in my opinion it is easier to be a marine, as combat has changed considerably much in the 2,000 years since modern times. Space combat, on the other hand, is a fast-paced tangle of life and death, where you not only have to know tactics, but a bit of physics as well. teamwork and communication are essential, and it takes more than a bit of luck and skill to return from a battle in one piece. Whatever you choose, there are stories going along for both Marines and pilots, so you won't be left out in the cold, and there are plenty of people available to help, especially in our IRC Channel, #bhotr, which is hosted on Sorcery.net. If you need help with IRC, feel free to hit me or any of the other players up with a PM.

from this point on, I will be handling fighter combat individually. this means that, if gien time, I may respond to just a single combat, or all those that have been posted by the time i respond.

Allright, so, while this was an awesome round of posting, You also ignored my instructions, but, whatever, Most of you now know what I was trying for and so hopefully we'll be getting into the PVGM combat instead of PVSELF combat =P.
A combat round is what your pilot and their fighter can do in between 10 and 20 seconds, and the more stuff you try to do, the less effective it will be, modified of course by your pilot's skill level (luckily we all have very high skill levels).
Anyway, After I do a Damage control post, you all know what's going on now, so that's good, and hopefully it'll run smoothly. This is mostly an experiment. If, after 4 rounds or so, it turns out that we fail at PVGM stuff, then we'll go back to our usual winging it with me sending doom at you guys randomly.

Our Plot, after a good nearly four year run here on SDRP, has graduated to its own website! All our hard work and dedication has led us to the point where we have to put just as much hard work into moving everything into our newly prepared home, fix all my horrible Newb mistakes I made when I created this RP, and continue our epic story with even more epicness added, and stuff. Anyone who has been reading this plot,or who maybe wants to join, Please come on over to our new home: BHotR.com
