Jake had his knees scrunched to his chest, his arms resting on them, and his head buried into the bundle of limbs. He held the Nyquil bottle loosely in his hand, half of it already gone. It seemed as if he was trying to get sleep...or maybe he was crying? No...not crying. This was proven when he slowly looked up, then around the tree towards the Forbidden Forest.
Standing there...in all his glory and pride, was none other than the Centaur, Bane. Slowly, Jake put his Nyquil away and stood up before walking over to the prideful leader, all without taking his eyes off of him. He stopped, just six feet away from the Centaur and the two seemed to size each other up. Jake Defi then unsheathed his sword and struck out towards him. Steel met steel, as Bane defended himself. They exchanged blows without moving much from where they had been standing before being locked in a battle of strength. One of which Jake had always had no chance in...but seemed to get stronger by each passing test.
The black haired, black bodied, and wild looking Centaur grunted his satisfaction and the two stopped resisting the other before pulling away and giving a small salute. "You're getting slow old man." Jake said openly, as if they were old friends despite the fact that Bane had very little trust and liking towards Jake or any other Human for that matter.
Bane glared down at Jake as usual, and turned to walk along the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Jake by his side. "I assure you human. I am not. But the movement of the Planets foretell something in you Jake."
"Can you tell me what? And when?"
The Centaur's glare seemed to strengthen before his gaze returned to where he was going. "You know well that we are sworn not to set ourselves against the heavens." He stopped and turned towards the 7th Year Slytherin in a menacing way. "We can see what is to come, but we cannot interfere."
Jake didn't look at Bane for once. Usually he would be challenging the Centaurs gaze with his own, but this time he was acting like any other Human to someone of great power.
Bane's eyes softened, though remained with the menacing glare. Though Jake was human he showed...respect for the Centaurs. Even though he had no reason to. The two continued their walk. "Something troubles you. And the Stars have told me that you have gained a great burden upon your Shoulders during the Summer."
"Goddammit Bane. It's daylight. How can you see Stars during the day?" Jake snapped in Human frustration.
"We, young Wizard, are of a magical existence in a higher plane above that of you humans. Perhaps even higher than those of Elves. We were created by the heavens, and in return we see the truth of movements of the planets, and the bright formations of the stars." He paused there, both in step and words as the two males regarded each other equally. Swordsman to swordsman. "But not only do we see the Stars and the Planets...we can feel them. Their slow and subtle movements speak to us in great bounds when it is merely a simple...science-..." The word was spat out in disgust. "...-to you Humans."
Jake nodded and began the slow stroll once more. "My apologies. I did not mean to disrespect, you, your beliefs, or the Heavens."
Bane sighed heavily. The only show of emotion other than that of anger. "You are the only one who does this out of pure respect for us Centaurs as a whole."
"So in return...you will tell me what is to come on All Hallow's Eve?" Jake suddenly asked only to be turned upon by the Centaur who glared and growled at him in a threatening way. The teen threw up both of his hands, his palms facing towards the menacing creature. "I know I know...can't betray the heavens. I was only joking." Bane grunted in acceptance of the explanation to the sudden outburst before resuming the walk then stopping as he seemed to see something in sky. "I must go." And with that, he left, running into the forest and then out of sight.
Once again Jake was left alone, the talk doing nothing to heighten his spirits from his argument with Anna-Marie.

Ryder walked down the steps of the school into the vast yard, staring out accross to the Forbidden Forest. She pulled her long black hair up into a terrible messy bun, puting on her head phones and blasting muggle music with lots of Bass. Joey trailed behind, mewing in protest to her usual walks. He jumped up onto her shoulders and snuggled down to enjoy the ride around grounds.

The Slytherin sheathed his sword and wondered what his next move was. As he thought things over he stared out at the forbidden forest and wondered if there were Death Eaters really in there as it was rumored to be.
His gaze slowly shifted to Hogsmeade in the distance and he nodded slowly. They were present there, that's for damn sure.
His gaze again shifted towards the Quidditch Arena and he thought a bit if going there for the rest of the day would be satisfactory for him. All this while he walked towards the school. He shifted his gaze back to where he was going, but it was a bit late. The tip of his right foot caught on a rock just as he was lifting it to walk forward and he stumbled a little, letting out a yelp of surprise. He recovered quickly, only to find himself staring at Ryder who had probably seen him screw up just then.

Ryder put her headphones around her neck and took the six steps needed to stand infront of him, "You ok?" she said with a sly smile, "Those damn rocks, always getting in peoples way..." Joey lifted his head off of her shoulder and mew/yawned at the boy, setting foggy bright green eyes that begged to be scratched behind the ears on his.

Jake scratched the back of his neck, blushing lightly and his head turned away with a sheepish grin. His eyes turned back towards Ryder, only to see the cat seeming to beg for a scratch. The Slytherin didn't seem to waste any time as he reached out and scratched behind the feline's ear. "Yeah...I guess..." Was his uneasy answer.
His eyes examined her face and for the first time he felt as if he...did not know her. Sure he spoke to most of the Gryffindors, as well as the other people from the other Houses, but when has he ever acknowledged their presence as the person they turned out to be. They were always titled. The 'D' Student who could do better but needed motivation. The Bully who only lashed out so she wouldn't be the victim. ... Daniel...
The 7th Year Slytherin continued to scratch behind the cat's ear as he offered Ryder a small smile. "How's your school year so far?"

Neville looked at Raven and Draco as they motioned for them to follow. "We'll catch up later..." He told them before wrapping an arm around Carina's waist and leading her in the opposite direction. He was leading them down to the greenhouses. Professor Sprout always let him come down whenever he wanted. He was her favorite student. "Sorry about hitting your brother."
Crucius woke to find the crowd gone. Professor McGonagall wasn't even in her class room. Figures. He was pissed. Longbottom actually thought he could get away with hitting him. Maybe Draco, Carina, and Raven handled him. Would serve him right. So, he was fuming as he walked down the corridor. How could he have let himself get knocked out? No magic was even used on him. Neville would pay for embarrassing him. However, first things first. He'd get a hold of Anna-Marie and see why she didn't warn him about the hit. So, with fervor, he stalked his way upstairs to fetch her from class. When the door was opened to the divination class, he spotted her gazing out the window, herself looking upset about something. "Anna-Marie...come on..." he directed at her. That phrase was one she had heard enough before.
Anna-Marie was finished with the assigned work in divination, so she zoned off, looking out the window. She thought about the whole scene with Jake. She couldn't see how he could just up and do that. She was frustrated with herself for liking him. Then, her gaze spotted some people out on the grounds. Was that? She leaned forward for a closer look. Yes, yes it was. Jake was out there talking to some other girl. Figured. He probably didn't like her anyways, he was most likely just messing with her earlier. Her eyes narrowed. However, before her brain could think any more, she heard her name called, and it wasn't by Professor Trelawney. She turned to look at the Slytherin who had addressed her. "Crucius..." Anna-Marie trailed off before grabbing her bag and standing up, walking in his direction. He grabbed her arm and led her outside the classroom. Once they were in the corridor below, She noticed the purple tint to his eye. "What the hell happened to you?"
Carina let Neville lead her off. Personally, she wanted to be away from her brother before he woke up. She noticed where she was being headed after a moment. Of course, the greenhouses. She loved them nearly as much as he did. Plus, there were bound to be a few where they could talk in private. A smile creeped up on her lips as she realized his arm was around her waist. She leaned her head back on his shoulder as they walked. "Don't worry about it...he deserved it..." . .

Elle's black mary jane heels clicked down the hallway as she made her way to the library to catch up on some studying. She had been away on a holiday in Ireland while Kingsley was busy working at the ministry. She was pretty sure what everyone at school thought of her. She was the little rich girl who got whatever she wanted at the waive of her wand. What did she care? She was in Ravenclaw for how brilliant she was and she earned all her wonderful marks on her own. The most important thing was that no one ever saw the mark on her left arm.

Cam sat on the windowsill of the Ravenclaw tower, looking out over the forest as he completed his drawing. He often did this, despite the danger of quite literally sitting on the window sill with his legs dangling out, but it let him get a good, unobstructed view of the whole place. His quill sketched mark after mark across the parchment as he cross-hatch shaded the forest.
After about ten minutes, he was done. He got back inside and put his parchment down on his bed. He picked up his want off his bedside table and stuck it in his pocket. It was longish, 12 inches, made of maple, a wood common in his homeland of Canada, with a dragon heartstring core. It had a handle carved to resemble the handle on a dagger, almost, in that it had a small section where the handle connected to the rest of the wand that stuck out a bit, only by a few millimetres, and the rest of the handle was carved with circles as it went down toward the rounded end of the handle, looking almost as if something was wrapped around the handle. He loved the wand, as it always seemed to work just perfectly when he needed it. And it looked cool.
He started to walk out of the tower, with no particular destination in mind. He'd probably end up at the library at some point but until then, he just wanted to walk, as he always did. His blue eyes looked around as his cloak flashed out behind him, showing him to be wearing jeans, black Converse high-top shoes, and a gray sweater, as it was a bit cold out today, even in the castle.

Elle decided to go for a walk outside on the grounds and breathe in the fresh cold air. She sat quietly by the lake lost in thought. The mark began to tingle more everyday and it couldn't help but bother Elle. She wished she oculd talk to Kingsley about it but he had always seemed uneasy about anything Elle asked about her parents. And all he ever did was stay away so she had raised herself. She pulled out her red velvet journal and started to write a song. She alway wrote down song lyrics to release her emotions. Especially when she couldn't sing out loud.
