I watch the ones we have go up and down the tree in my backyard, across the telephone lines, and up and down the wall. One even used my yard to bury their winter supply of acorns. It was too fast for me to get a picture of it though. sad

Must've fallen from the nest and he thought it was injured so he did the no-no and picked the baby up. Now I got in trouble for spending nearly all my paycheck on things to help the baby survive and it's all because someone picked up what he wasn't supposed to. burning_eyes I'm pretty sure that's an old Wives Tale. I had to move my rat's babies back into the cage (she wasn't supposed to be pregnant) and she didn't eat them. But hey, I've seen people with pet squirrels, and they're adorable. We even have a vet in town who specializes in exotic pets. Poor little critter for falling outta the nest. sad

My mother kept a pet squirrel for a while, and she says they need to be checked out. Plus, they will be able to answer your questions about care with more authority than the Internet.
Good luck!

Good luck! Agreeing with what Angel suggested. However, there are only 27 vet schools in the entire US, which means about half of the states don't have a vet school.
If you live in one of those non-vet school states (like me), you could contact your local vet. Most vets, even if they don't do wild animals, do know wildlife rehab people in the area. There are more and more people out there who are fostering and rehabilitating abandoned and/or injured wild animals. They are a great source of info as well.
Good luck with Xerxes! biggrin

Good luck! It's actually not the first time I take care of a baby squirrel. I've raised about two before this one and both turned out really well and eventually they went and had babies of their own after I released em back to the wild. ^~^
