Well it's often overlooked that magic is truly one of the most important things to have control of in terms of either maintaining a balance or gaining control of the superhero establishment. When Stephen stepped out of play during Civil War, it threw everything off balance. We cast around for a replacement, but when the Sorcerer Supreme sends a message, it ripples through the whole community. Being absent Wanda and Thor as well, well that was the death knell.
I'm not going to say that we were impotent, but without that magical backing it left us wide open to the invasion. I don't think Norman understands that yet. He has the three biggest magical players at his table, but he's got that table to carve up a cake with, not to cover his bases.

Eventually become the new Sorcerer Supreme. Loki's a god, so she can wait decades without batting an eyelash. If she has you in place when she makes a move, either here or on Asgard, all she needs to do is tell you to stay home and read a book by the fire, and suddenly we're crippled. That, of course is a best case scenario.

It's never that simple, it's just an outline of a very complicated situation from a layman. Wanda had to deal with a very unsavory chaos god for much of her career in magic, she would have better advice for you. I still think your best bet for now is to stay with her, but just remember that with magic there's no such thing as a free lunch.

It would definitely be too good of an offer for me to resist.
*Cracks open his soda can.*
I mean, even knowing what I know now, if Doctor Doom had offered me an apprenticeship at your age, I'd have taken it. They say in chess the only way you get better is by playing a better opponent.

Captain Frank Castle Right. That's why I brought this. *indicates to the bazooka* Past tense, now it doesn't matter so much. I couldn't stop SHIELD from trying to get you, I just didn't give them any resources beyond the bare minimum. You're most useful off grid.
