"Always am. I have goal and well, I plan to reach it. Nothing has stopped me before." He could still remember when he was little and set out to do things, he damn did them. But he was more apt at attending his studies right now and he enjoyed it. "Mom's rounding up for dinner. You staying?" Galesen was a come and go figure, he was used to it. But into the dinning room with him, flopping down in his chair.
"A'mael, you spent all night and all day in there, you didn't even come to bed. Remember?" Smiling sweetly at him, he had been doing...something or other lately it was something important to him and that's all that she knew. She preferred to really not know more than that. Her business was horses, not what happened in there...unless Malik was doing something stupid. "But yes, it's dinner. Come on now."
"Gotta eat dinner daddy." He had learned such things from hearing them repeated. Malikhai and mommy were always being told that, mostly daddy was the one saying things. A reach out to daddy though. Hey he enjoyed being passed between mom and dad, all the attention he wanted.
And then came the whining/celebrating. He was used to it by now though and merely pet through his daughter's hair, soothing her as the other one was being popped in the head for celebrating when it wasn't needed. But his attention turned back to his wife. "Again? He spends most of his time out in those stables these days and is slacking off in other places." That displeased look. "I'll get him." Which meant it was to the back door with him, poking his head out. "Zykariel, dinner."

"Oh yes, I remember. trust me, you'll enjoy it, I think, when all is said and done."
taking his younger son from his mother, and holding him lightly, bouncing him a bit.
"Alright. so dinner for us. and how has the namesake been spending his time today? in his studies, I imagine?"
heading toward the kitchen, giving Galesen, he'd earned his elvish name...a slight nod.

"Glad to see that you are striving to get that goal obtained, I knew since you were little you were going to grow up to be a good man, just like your father." Hey even though he and Malik did go at each other the elf had to say that the drow had a good mind in business and other things, though he may not see eye to eye with the blue drow Arthur did his best to understand everything.
So he followed the young elf into the dinning room, sitting down at the same table with the young lad. "Yeah sure I guess your mother wouldn't mind, I like her cooking so it be nice to enjoy someone else." He gave a light nod to that before going on. "Though I was hoping maybe to practice my magic a little before I head back home...the arena is good for practicing magic since I don't want to blow up my house." A light chuckle to that before he shook his head then went ahead to order a small drink for himself. Though when he saw Malik he gave a light nod back, couldn't be disrepctful with this elf.

Zykariel lifted his hand to his father and clapped him on the arm as he passed. "Hard day of work?" Rolling his eyes he slipped in and sidled up to his mother, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "What's for dinner, Mama?"
"Don't you Mama me, boy. I'm not covering for you today." And then her baby boy pulled the pouting look and she sighed. "Fine, but your father is onto me and you have to start doing your studies, Kariel."
He slipped a finger into the cake bowl only to get it smacked by his mother's wooden spoon. "Ow!" He got the look and he just shook his head. "Destyny is almost ready for the big race Mom. And Malikhai said we need another race to break even this year. If I don't keep up on the training then we won't be on top and we'll get stomped. You don't want that to happen, do you?"
She glanced at him for a moment and then sighed. "Fine. I'll cover for you again today. Here, take your brother. I have to get dinner on the table. And make sure you wash those hands." Thus she moved back to the oven and picked up a few bowls and carried them to the dining room. That table finally had more uses than just playtime.
Kelligrin locked his arms around his brother's neck and gave him a sloppy grin then slapped his hands on the tray that was put over his lap in anticipation of food.
The girls came in at the same time which was normal for those two and settled down at the table. The way things were supposed to work was well known in the Inthara house and they began passing bowls and plates as their mother sat down and set a plate of noodles on his tray and handed him a sippy cup, plopping a kiss on the top of his head. Lyssthyren gave her father a grin and dug into her spaghetti. "Daddy, how was work?"

"I would hope so because I don't enjoy it when you hermit away in there. Besides, you're all cranky when you come back out." Again one of those smiles of hers that said she was chastising him, but with the utmost love. "But yes, he was in his books earlier, and he was just in the arena. I assume after dinner he'll be back to his books, probably his own little accounts." Which just amused her, that racing scheme he and Zykariel had going. They did make their fair share of money though. "You know you've had him on his toes since you promised him his own sword, you just like to hear someone say it." Taking Dhairiss back from him as they entered the dinning room, plopping the little elf in his own chair next to hers. "I see you're joining us Galesen."
He snorted and gave a chuckle. "Mom doesn't cook. Well, not house food. And well, I suppose I could share the arena with you." Territorial teenager stage as well...and it was a boy thing. Or so his mother said it was a boy thing. But a smile to his parents as they joined them in the dinning room, little brother in hold. "Hi parents. See you finally dragged dad up." Yup, he joined in on ragging on dad hermiting away too, though he knew how far to go and how far not to.
"Not really." Was he honestly doing the eye roll thing already. Could he not say dinner was ready without getting an eye roll? Teenagers...but he followed the boy back inside...trying to ignore the mud he tracked in on his boots...and headed into the kitchen, and moving into the motions of dinner. What with the number of people in this house, things had to go smoothly. "It was pleasant, nothing too horrible to endure except of course the occassional incompetence of the others that were around me. But that's always something to deal with. What did you all do?" Which got the all inclusive pass over look that said more than he would have if he actually spoke.

"I promise it's something special."
before smirking to his older son.
"from what I've been told I'm not the only one that needs to be dragged from his little world around here."
taking his seat at the table, and leaning forward on his elbows a bit.
"I get the feeling your going to try something today. something your hoping will get that blade of yours upgraded to something a bit more potent."

A blink before he chuckled and shook his head, should of remembered that before opening his mouth, oh well can't take it back now. Though at that moment he got his drink so after he took a sip the elf looked to the young lad and gave a nod. "Well thank you, and you don't have to worry I wont get in your way." A small chuckle to that but he was serious, he has seen the young lad train and he was getting pretty good, he wondered how long would it take Malikhai to be like his dad, and then from that point get the blade which needed to be fed.
Though at that moment did he see Piper and he gave a light nod. "Well I wouldn't mind joining you if you don't mind an extra guest that is." After all he wasn't the one with the family so he thought that family dinners didn't need an outside guest too often. "Though I'm here mostly to use the arena a bit, need to go about with my magic skills...even thinking of practicing my bow today."

Dinner was always an interesting affair in their house. If anything had gone on during the day that was likely to land one of them in trouble...well there was usually a bit of squirming when Sevilin asked the question. Or it would be a battle as to who could get dad's affirmation first. The girls were in the latter category and Kelligrin decided to add in his own two cents by throwing his sippy cup onto the floor by his father's chair then giggling about it. Zykariel was sullenly silent in that teenager way and Zahara merely sat back with her wine and watched. Ah, life. Wasn't it grand?

Innocent look...well of sorts. "Try something? I'm not trying anything. Last time I tried something to get something like that, my arm got broken." It wasn't pleasant and needless to say he learned his lesson. Though yes...he did impulsive rash things like his father from time to time. He was a teengaer, it was a thing they did. "And I'm out in the open." Smiling in the 'Ha' way to his father. "Though yes I do harbor that certain hope...my rickity frickin' sword while effective, is not pleasant to look at. And you promised. Eventually."
"Hey, watch your mouth." Which was a pointed look to the boy's little brother...who was somewhat playing in the food that had been set in front of him. He didn't fling it but he did like to rearrange it around his plate in whatever manner he had in his head. But a look between the two men...she still thought it was cute and they did enjoy thier little manly subjects now didn't they? But a look to Galesen. "Feel free to join and then use the downstairs. Commitment is good." Turning her look then back to her boys. Surrounded by testosterone, but she was used to it by now.
Damnable sippy cups, they were always hitting the floor. But like always he picked it up and placed it back where it belonged, and it was most likely to happen a few more times as well. The girls of course got thier affirmation that they needed and Zykariel merely got that raise of an eyebrow, a pass over look and a shake of his head. Sevilin wasn't stupid, he knew that that boy hadn't been doing constructive things all day. There was too much mud caked on his boots. Which yes was the current cause for disconnect between father and son for the moment...the boy only wanted to race and engage in nothing else, not even those rather important general studies.

"Well...in two hours time, should everything go as arranged, you and I will have a talk about that subject. and you can show off in the arena as you feel the need to."
then a small grin.
"But I hear that your racing is going well, though apparently your partner has been neglecting his other studies for training his horse. while this is admirable, as a D'vinn, you are expected to be an example. negelcting his other studies, especially with Sevilin, will only get him banned from racing, adn then there goes your play money."

Dinner passed relatively close to the way it always did. Yes, the sippy cup was thrown three more times. It was Kelligrin's way of making sure everyone knew he was still there. He couldn't join in the conversation very well so he made his presence known by other means. Zahara found it rather cute. Urging him to eat a little more, she finally lifted the little boy out of his chair and handed out orders around the table. The girls had dishes to handle and Zykariel was supposed to do his homework. She picked up the baby and headed upstairs to their bedroom where the crib was still sitting. She had a feeling she was going to get called on Zykariel's activities.
He glanced up at his mother for a moment and then sighed, rolled his eyes, and nodded. Did he actually intend to do his homework? Maybe. If he felt like it or got around to it. He took his dishes up like he was supposed to and then headed upstairs. He even cracked a book just in case his father poked his head in though he was more or less leaning back in his chair, tossing darts at a board on the wall.

Well the first part was good news, the second part not so much. How did he know that? Far as Malikhai knew, Zykariel was doing what he was supposed to be doing...so then why the hell was he starting to get a lecture? Which meant a frown from him, though not too much of one because throwing attitude was bad with his parents. "Horses are work. You know that." Mom did the horse thing and dad still complained at her. It was funny sometimes. "Aren't examples moot when you know no one is looking for an example to follow? And I can make my own play money, Zykariel just asked me to help with his own. I'm just getting a cut. It's a perk and I get the experience of various aspects."
His kids thought they were slick. But they weren't. Hell he practically knew everything that went on in that house. Part of pat paranoia and well he'd just never gotten rid of the runes. He knew most things, he just didn't say anything on them. Was busy keeping the house from being in too much a constant state of chaotic flux. But oh yes, after helping the girls clean up and sending them on thier own ways, he did go see Zahara. But debating on wether or not to breech the subject of his first son's slacking. He understood it, the boy was young, wanted his fun. But was an hour too much to ask. "If he's going to be with horses all day, he needs to take off his boots before he comes inside."

"Remind him of his duties. I know horses are a lot of work, but you can't neglect everything all the time. There is going to come a time, Malikhai, when you will be the one that answers for the actions of others, if you know about them or not. Just as I have had to in my time, like with Mahlari's 'birth defect'. while I gave no order to do that and they were on another plane, I still answered for his actions. as amusing as I found it."
Yes that had been a big debacle...though Kieran and he had found it funny. his necromancer didn't dare hurt Mahlari..but altered the pigment of her child's skin. which ment Mahlari had a blue Tier'dal colored baby..it was worth the price he thought. a few weeks in an Andalian prison and having to make resoration payment. oh and the death of that necromancer.

She tilted her head and listened for the girls to come upstairs, making sure they were getting ready for bed and then returned to her son who was getting his nightly bath. She pulled the little drow out of the bath and wrapped him up in a towel then carried him out and settled him on the bed. Glancing up as Sevilin came in, she quirked an eyebrow for a moment and then nodded. "I'll talk to him about it." She rediapered the baby, then picked up the bottle she'd brought from downstairs before sitting down in the rocking chair and feeding the baby. "It's really important to him, you know. The question is, how upset are you about it?"

That got a spoon full of carrots flung at him...which she duely stopped the little toddler at the table from repeating the action. Because hey if she did it, it was okay. Didn't talk about that, was not a pleasant thing she liked to remember what with the fiasco...Malik had found out just how less than pleased she had been with him. He made nice friends with the couch that month. "We don't talk about that, remember." And a look to her youngest and the spoonful of unflung carrots he had. "Eat those."
He sighed the way any teenager would before picking a piece of meat off his place and tossing it to Yinn, who now full grown, sat nearby waiting patiently for scraps which he normally got. "His duties eh? Well, when that time comes I'll take care of it, like you took care of yours." Okay little push of parental buttons, but it was once of those things he got from hsi father. And well...Zy liked to pull the 'I'm older' card sometimes. Personally he didn't like that period of time either, it had been weird with dad gone. "I mean I can't tell him to do something anymore than Sevilin can tell me to do something really. Besides, isn't that his own personal business if he gets racing taken away?" Sure, he'd be there for his friends and they'd backdoor, cheat, lie, or manipulate thier way to get what they wanted like they did sometimes, and hopefully not get caught.
"I'm moved from slightly annoyed to highly annoyed." Going about doing his own thing that involved the nightly things that happened in the house. Sure it was all routine, but when you had four kids and such schedules were a good thing. "And I know it's important to him, but it's not important enough to think that everything else isn't or can be put off till later. I'm waiting for the day that they won't let him into a race because he lacks some stanard level of learning and competence that they want among the group. Bet that would make him learn his lesson and then he can regret this slacking he's doing." Okay, that was a little harsh, but this was irritating and fighting with his children or his wife was not at the top of his priority list.
