Could you fecking feckers for once be more original with naming lasguns. I swear the next fecker to say flashlight will be sent to Oz. What next? Card board armour? Bad stats? Be fecking original for once.
Well, granted that I have very limited experience with actually playing 40K, but if Dawn of War speaks for anything, then Guardsmen just riddle the s**t out of...everything. (minus vehicles)

And besides, I believe the point of the Imperial Guard is to load up on tons of Guardsmen (and have some badass vehicle support) which can and will hit you eventually, and then there's still another eighty guys who get to fire.


Its worrying that for just 650pts the guard army for their two troops choices can take 110 guardmen... of course thats without upgrades but still imagine the amount of firepower that chucks out!

They are pretty cheap units, and not too bad as far as quality of the quanitity goes either.

I've always considered the Guard, but I lack the money.

Necrons are great if you don't want to spend a load of money, want easy paint jobs, and are generally a powergamer.

About guard... I don;t know about you guys but Rough riders and the best units in the game.... Hands down... wanna know why.... I WON A ROGUE TRADER WITH THEM!!!! 1500 points of a white dwarf rough riders list. It was nothing but cavalry and 2 lemus russ tank support.

I fought Chaos, Tyranids, and Dark Eldar, and I massacred them all, Victory points wise.

i think Eldar and Guard would knock that army off the table. Oh and Armoured Company. Just like at my elite tanks

2 Twin linked Autocannon shot
9 Heavy Bolter Shots
3 Heavy Stubber Shots

All hitting on 3s rolling misses Autocannon, and 1s one everything else. Not many formations can stand up to that kind of fire. I dont care what you say 14 shots will do you in. And if its not enough I have 14 more, plus the 3 battle cannons that reroll scatter. And I havent tweeked it out yet but im thinks about changin my command tank to a Vanquisher

1. Buy Warhammer 40.000 rules book
2. Buy Imperial Guard codex
3. Read said codex at least once thoroughly from front to cover

Now then, best way to start out is with a battle force, a HQ boxed set, a box of Cadians and a blister with officers. A Chimera with squad is also a good option, as combining all the mentioned above will give you a small but legal force of around *quick crunch* 800 or so points, Doctrines excluded of course.

Ah machine guns and explosives the 2 main reasons why we don't use calvery anymore.

Same deal, I'm itching to get the Hollywood marine rules, but seeing as these were only produced in the US WD, tough luck for the others.
