Outlaw won't fight Athena any longer
because he's just afraid to make a post
What started out as combat, has grown stranger

stressed Darkest Silver Desolation?.. Ok then. And I am sort of in the same boat, except I am waiting on Tres to reply to me so I can continue with Jay and her crazy a** plans. The tournament is a fun distraction though. What kind of character is Slainne? Going for a smuggler, so a bit of a shrewd businesswoman, and very stubborn, and has this deep-rooted aversion to magic. Trying to have an adventuring character.

Eric didn't come by his powers through any natural, or magical means...They were given to him by an experimental drug.
A drug I want to be developed by a large corporation...like Yuen...
They picked him out of a potential list of candidates, plotted out a way to get him on board, and then used him as a test subject. He doesn't realize, and won't for a loooong time, that they tricked him...or that it was planned out from the start.
I've got some more ideas, but that's the mold.

I'm not picky about how you'd like to work it...whether it's a group of scientists just trying to come up with the next big thing...or a direct order from the big boss... I want it to lead into a plot for your next GTB, though...with Yuen "testing" the product out there. Eric, of course, will be completely oblivious to the deeper workings...so I'll probably make an NPC (or two) to help you ith the "behind the scenes" stuff... If you're interested, of course.
