King Bug Vintrict tricked us all in here thinking it was the GTB. It's actually Mortal Kombat and he's going to steal our souls! All of your identities belong to me.

Most of the deaths so far have probably been somewhere between "accidental" and "unnecessary."
Actual fatalities - in the sense of "this attack was meant to kill, or had no other outcome beyond death" - have never been that common in non-fatality tournaments like the GTB or HoH. Mostly because it usually pans out poorly for one or both parties. One or the other person can be DQed, and in some instances both parties could be DQed, depending on the rules.
The latter result has always been hilarious, though. "You killed somebody? DQ! And you, you're dead? Well, a dead man can't fight. DQ!"

Even so we've never actually had so much death in the opening round of a tournament from my knowledge. KB has it all right, this is Mortal Kombat.

Oh, he's right; there's never been as many deaths - accidental, intentional, avoidable, or otherwise - in past tournaments as far as the largest two tournaments are concerned; for a tournament where people aren't supposed to die, there's definitely a lot of dying going on.

I could have, in theory (and I even discussed it with Slash), based on my character's height advantage, reversed the maneuver that killed me simply by dropping my center of gravity, but I felt that he should be rewarded for a move that I felt my death knight would not really know how to counter in a split-second decision.

Your character could have walked away from that with a broken neck sans dying, probably (admittedly I only glanced at the fight while trying to cook dinner, so..)
Ha, walking away.. broken neck..
Bad pun, okay. But it had to be done.

Sadly IC my character would have possibly tried to do to kill anyway if only because he is a violent b*****d with no remorse. This fits with him, but of course for all intended purposes. this wasn't the author 's goal. At this rate half the people will get DQed if the judges deem it so xD
If it occurs ah well, I had my fun while it lasted. There is still more role playing to do in the guild, but we'll see. Suppose its good we have white mages in this area, making death not that tragic unless someone believes they should remain dead. Nonetheless this will be an eventful GTB .

I need to make an entrance with my healer, but I'm being lazy and semi-productive.

The Darth Vizzle Your character could have walked away from that with a broken neck sans dying, probably (admittedly I only glanced at the fight while trying to cook dinner, so..) Ha, walking away.. broken neck.. Bad pun, okay. But it had to be done. Eh. I had to choose between a broken neck and being lit on fire, or dying due to broken vertebrae/skull, if I let him go through with it. The latter would have been a lot more painful and probably would have slapped my control score into nothing, so I kinda just cut my losses and treated it as a death. Plus, her anatomy doesn't quite work the same way as a living creature's does.

I was not expecting you to do the job Sigil Warden. I only skimmed over the fight but I will read it later, but from what I saw Dithikar pulled out a really cool judo throw at the end.
Kudos for selling it.
It made for a great ending.

True. The only issue with dying in a fight is that, unless the attack was absolutely fatal, you tend to just get DQed for "taking a fall."
Although given that Slash's attack wasn't fatal, and death for your character is probably not the same as it is or a traditional living, breathing creature, I doubt either of you will be seeing a DQ for the death. It'll probably just be judged normally. It would just be a shitty situation to see either of you guys DQed for what's... not really an issue in the sense that most fatalities are.
On that note, I have seen someone live through brain hemorrhaging. In my senior year of high school, the runningback for a team we played against got in a head-to-head collision with one of our players after having already suffered from a few concussions that season and it set off a brain hemorrhage. They had to defib the guy twice just to stabilize his heart after it started to fail, then he got air vac'd and was in a coma for like three months.

That's mainly why I made it so this character can't die in the GTB.
Too much potential for overkill in the roster. I don't want people to feel gimped fighting me because my character has less fortitude than others. Forcing people to pull their punches is just too gamey.
That being said hammerfisting someone in the face when they have half a broken sword sticking out of their chest is still traditional overkill. TRES. xd

To say that people being like, "Yeah! We really enjoyed your fight! Awesome read!" is making me super skittish would be an...ummmm...
Mega-understatement?
HoH has made me naturally suspicious of positive public consensus...since it seems that when "the people" enjoy my bouts, the judges decide to dump max negatives on me. pirate
All the same! I'm glad you guys enjoyed ******** what the judges think...
It's not about winning the tourny anyway.

Well there's also an overhanging -5pt reduction if things get too negative.
That being said on a more frank note I'd be willing to say that I got the impression that fight wasn't very fun. Seemed like the monk generally didn't "sell" much, whereas the Death Knight was more give and take.
What do I know though. b***h didn't get naked and rub that oil all over her tits. -20 pts.
