Haro blinked, wondering just why Shin was laughing so much. He did look happy though, so whatever a pun was...it must not be bad. Breathing a sigh, Haro smiled as he stood up slowly, brushing off his back as best he could before holding out his hand with a small blush. "Mm, sounds good to me," he murmured, not quite looking at Shin.
Staring at the boy's hands, Wei frowned a bit as he took them into his own. Wincing at the biting cold, the snake's frown deepened. They were red, but...at least they weren't purple or anything so they'd be okay but damn were they cold! Rubbing his hands against the others, the young man mentally berated himself for forgetting about the boy. How could...How could he just have dropped off the surface of his mind so quickly? He wondered if this is what it felt like to forget about...one's own kid. Like you're shopping with them, something catches your eye and so you sit there, staring at it...and then your kid is gone. His mom had been looking at some stupid vase and the only reason he got back home was because he could mumble out his address to a police officer. Mom hadn't really cared though... She didn't have that god awful feeling of sheer panic run through her to find that her little boy was missing.
Closing his eyes for a moment, Wei stuck Liao's hands near the car heater. "Eh, hopefully this will help a bit."

Shin smiled and gently took the other's hand in his own, giving the gloved digits a gentle squeeze as he lef the boy up the lawn and back into the house, where it was much, much warmer. Shin sighed slightly and smile, his nose and cheeks pink from the cold, as he carefully began to take off the layers he had put on for their little trip out into the snow.
"I'll go get the coacoa ready... would you go ask Sparrow if he wants some for me, please?" he asked Haro. He had successfully undressed into his normal indoor clothes -- just his jeans and the faded sweater. His skin was still stinging slightly from the cold, but it was fading ever so slowly....
Liao remained silent as the other began to warm his hands. His face was still quite stiff from the cold and he felt rather... groggy. In fact, he wasn't even sure if what was happening was actually... real. It felt warmer, yes, but he'd always heard stories about those who died from cold feeling a strange warmth just before they dropped off into nothingness. Maybe... he was dying. Or something like that. Only, he felt too... too sleepy to panic.
Only moments later, his eyes had dropped shut and his head tipped forward as he returned to that warm, dreaming state that had grasped him before Wei had found him....

Haro shivered as he entered the house, nudging out of his shoes so they wouldn't get the rest of the house wet. Kicking them onto the mat in front of the door, the boy turned to Shin with a grin, "Mm, sure, I'll go find him and ask." Running upstairs, the boy stripped from his coat, hanging it on his door handle before hopping into his room, trying to rid himself of pants while walking wasn't very smart or easy. Turning around, the boy eeeped as he noticed his 'pet' sleeping in his bed. Quickly gathering up his clothes, the boy replaced them with fresh, dry ones in record timing before walking over towards the bed.
Leaning over Sparrow, Haro frowned as he noticed a piece of paper on the bedside table. "Hmm, head hurt, going to sleep, don't wake me up," he mumbled as he scanned the note. Scratching at his head, Haro set the slip back down before heading down stairs. "Ah, he's sleeping," the boy murmured as he entered the kitchen, skating along the tiled floor in his socks.
Wei turned to Benji as the car slowed to a stop at a red light. "Asleep. Good sign, you think?"
"He doesn't really have any signs of hypothermia, so I think it's okay. He's probably just really tired," he mused, glancing at the boy for a moment before turning his eyes back towards the road. Green eyes dropped towards the snow-covered road. "Mnn, would you...stay at my place tonight? I just want to make sure someone can watch over him just in case I..."
"You're cold?"
"Ah. I'm going to have the spend the night under a heat lamp, I swear... Is that okay? I mean, I'd ask Vi but...he'd probably freak out and you know more about this kind of thing anyway," he mumbled before setting the boys hands back down, patting them once over.
"Yeah, that's fine, I don't mind. You sure you're okay?" Wei nodded, "I'll have a cold, but it won't kill me, I've stayed out longer before... I was mostly human so it won't be too bad. I'll just turn up the heat in my room. Hopefully you don't plan on wearing anything because it's going to be very hot." Benji sighed as he pulled into the snake's apartment complex, "You're a horrible person... I'm supposed to be watching the kid in case you fall asleep, right?"
"I was just kidding," he murmured with a smirk as he held the kitten gently as the two older men shuffled quickly inside.

Shin nodded as the boy spoke. He had gotten out the pain and begun heating up the milk, very mindful of the gas flame that burned there. He had gotten burns before and was always very carefuly around fire, no matter how controlled it might appear to be. "Well, maybe I'll make him some after we wakes up," the tall, pale teen murmured with a small shrug and he stirred the milk around, making sure that it wouldn't burn. It was ready quite quickly and after turning off the heat, he got out two large mugs, pouring half the milk into each. Then he added the chocolate powder and stirred each, giving himself and Haro each a spoon.
Once that was done, he handed one of the mugs to Haro with a soft smile, murmuring, "Here, it's ready," as he did so.
Liao shivered slightly as he felt the change in temperature as they exited the car, though he did not wake, and he pressed his face in closer towards the other's chest. Why... did it have to be so... cold....? He shivered again, though the tremours soon subsided as they entered the heat of the appartment building. Thankfully the electricity was working again and it was nice and toasty inside.

Taking the mug carefully with both hands, the boy leaned forward to grab the spoon between his teeth, "Dank you, Sheen," was all that came out due to the utensil restricting his mouth. Setting the thick glass down on the kitchen table, Haro nudged his way into a chair before spitting out his spoon into his cup. "Stir, stir, stir~" He sang as he did just that before looking up with an almost forlorn expression. "Mmm, Shin, how long do you think it's going to take for Sparrow to start remembering things?" He asked before taking a sip of the hot, chocolaty drink, licking at his upper lip.
After a quick elevator ride, Wei was in front of his room door, "Oi, other pocket. Eeehm, I guess it wasn't that one," he mumbled to himself as Benji crouched down in order to find his key. "Nnm, check my wallet, it should be in my right coat pocket, the zippered one, the zippered one!" He hissed before grinning at the fact that the bird had indeed found his wallet. "It's just a white card with my name on it, an' I think the name of the complex," he explained.
"Did you lose your key?" The bright-eyed man asked as he thumbed through the several cards and bills in the other's wallet. "S'not in here, Wei..." He murmured as he slipped the smooth, dark wallet back into the snake's pocket.
Wei turned his face up towards the ceiling, peering into the lights with a frown. "Hmm...check my back pocket, I guess," he mumbled before wincing at a delighted little laugh from the bird who fished the card out of Wei's pants. In less than a minute, approximately, all three were inside.
Sitting down in one of the several chairs in the snake's living room-type area, Benji watched as a meticulously careful Wei set the little tabby on the couch before running off to get something to eat. Wei mumbled something about what to feed the kitten at a time like this before turning to Benji for a suggestion. "Something to kick up his energy, like bread or something, the water...or milk or whatever, and then maybe some protein of some kind for substance," he murmured with a shrug as Wei held up a can of tuna, dangling it between two fingers. "I don't know, that'd probably be okay."

((*is trying to write more descriptively* I think I found my muse... O: ))
Shin joined the other at the counter, slipping easily into his own chair as he set down his own mug and spoon, as well as a set of paper napkins. With Haro there, they would likely need them, as hot coacoa could often be on the messy side. He nodded at the other's thanks, murmuring a small "you're welcome" in response and he lifted a spoonful of the drink before his lips and blew on it several time before taking a careful sip. It was still quite hot -- but he hadn't heated it enough to scald, so it was rather pleasant, toasty temperature. White mist rose from the drinks, mirrorring the fog that had risen from frozen lips not so long ago. The mug, which at first had been nothing but chilled, had been warmed by the drink and the heat gradually seeped into his still somewhat icy hands. A small, pleasant smile had crept upon his lips, the pale corners curving gently upwards towards those bright, and yet pale, saphire eyes.
He glanced over towards the other, his eyes soft from warmth and that gentle happiness that seemed to flow through the dark-haired tiger when he was feeling content. "I'm... not really sure," he replied slowly. "We should take him to a doctor -- I know some good ones, after all. I mean, he's probably suffering from a hopefuly minor concusion... that means when you hit your head really hard and it affects your brain.... I well, I'm not sure how long it'll take. Hopefully not too long...." Shin trailed off and he began to think. He... he didn't think that Doctor Sung was a specialist in... head troubles, or that sort of thing. That man specialised mainly in... well, inherited deseases, for the most part. Like Shin's Hemophelia..... But he would likely know someone else who would be able to deal with a problem like Sparrow's....

Asleep as he was, Liao was still a cat -- and that was heightened by the fact that his features were out. His ears twitched slightly as the others spoke, rotating in a rather finicky way towards the sounds. Cat were naturally allert sleepers, and Liao was no exception. He shifted slightly in his sleep, brows knitting together into an expression that was unmistakably stubborn, as well as adorable, the lips pursed downwards in a pout. What he was so set against, or for, however, was unreadable. [[going to go ahead and say the can was opened. 8D;;; ]]
The boy's impeccably pale nose twitched slightly as he smelled... something. Something familiar, and desireable. Back home, where mother knew what he was, the woman had always tried to keep him away from any of him more animalistic tendencies. Fish and other water creatures had bascically been outlawed in that household and she didn't allow people to so much as speak about mice. The little round, slightly flat, nose twitched again in response to the smell and, slowly, the pout still firmly in place on his lips, his clouded, gray-blue eyes opened.
"Fish....?" he mumbled slowly, looking quite unbelievably groggy. His tousled orange hair was a mess from the highly static cold air, as well as melted snow. It was all sticking out and messy from sleep, and was so entirely messed up that it didn't look quite as straight as it usually did. He looked incredibly young and childish like that -- even more like a kid than usual.

A teen of around the age of seventeen, if not younger, frowned as he slammed down a pair of drum sticks, only wincing afterwards at the sound they made against the cement floor of Roger's garage. "Where the heck is he?! He's never late, and I just talked to him before he left so he should be here by now!" The young teen by the name of Token mumbled in complain, possibly a hint of worry. A young man to his left, presumably Roger, strummed a bar or two before turning towards the younger male.
"Don't worry so much. I'm sure he's perfectly fine, maybe he had to stop and get something. Maybe he's going to surprise us with donuts," Roger exclaimed, eyes bright with anticipation. "Man, I hope he brings donuts."
[[No point to that really... sweatdrop ]]
Dumping the contents of the can on a glass plate, Wei quirked a brow at the very unappealing shlick sound the chopped up tuna made as it slid out of its metal container. Fishing around for a spoon, Wei brought the plate-ful of tuna to Benji before ruffling the kitten's head lightly, a frown still placed upon his lips. He...felt very bad about forgetting Liao, and he figured fish wasn't going to fix much. Scratching at his head, the snake sighed before handing the spoon to the bird as well, who it turn made an attempt to get the boy to eat.
"Do you want anything?" He asked slowly, looking at the orange-eyed male until he shook his head, 'no.'

Benji realized that Liao was awake, but just how awake was the question mulling through his sluggish mind. Could the boy feed himself? Was he even in a position to be able to tell them if he was okay or not? Setting down the plate on the coffee table before the couch, the bird leaned forward carefully as he held out the spoon for the cat. "Do you need any help?" He asked, fully aware that even if the kid did need some help he probably would be too stubborn to admit it. "Would you like anything to drink?" He asked before turning to Wei, who was leaning helplessly against the counter, his whole upper body sprawled there in comic display. "Eh, Wei? Can you make some tea or something?" He asked, waiting a moment or two until the snake roused himself from his awkward position to do as the bird beckoned.
Haro's gaze fell forward into his cup as he struggled to keep quiet about the older bird's condition. Shin really wouldn't have much of a clue how and when and if Sparrow would be doing better, so there was really no point in asking. Licking around the ring of chocolate residue clinging to the mug's insides, Haro glanced up at the tiger with an ever questioning look to his bright eyes. "Are your hands okay?" He asked in a soft voice, not sure if he really wanted to ask. He still felt bad about the whole situation and...It had been his fault really. If he had just gone with the snake willingly, Shin wouldn't have gotten hurt... And if he had only been able to leave with Benji without saying goodbye...well, the tiger might be a little sad, but he wouldn't be physically hurt. Swallowing, the boy scratched heavily at the back of his head, and none of that stupid...stupid awkwardness would've happened either.
He was happy here though, much happier than Benji or Wei could ever make him...even they did hold him at night and promise that nothing would happen to him, it still wouldn't have been enough...

He felt... weak. Very weak, and his senses were rather... muddled. And yet he could hear perfectly the slightly squelching sound of tuna dropped from a can. It wasn't the most appealing sound in the world -- and neither was tuna the best fish. But it was still fish, something that was a near neccessity than Liao had always been deprived of. As Wei ruffled his hair, he acted instinctively as almost any cat would -- his eyes squenched shut, nose wrinkling, chin tipping down and away from the offending hand. Though he had been kept all his life, after years of neglect he had become rather more the stray cat.
He glanced up towards Benji as he spoke and shook his head, the motion causing to make eve more a mess of his hair as it swished all into his eyes. As the other had predicted, he was far too stubborn to allow others to help him, even (or perhaps especially) in such a weakened state. He didn't respond to the second question, as that one seemed to have been answered for him without his needing to speak. Truthfully, he wasn't at all sure if he could speak. His throat felt rather... sore and a almost as if there was a small obstruction there... He coughed slightly, testing his throat and, sure enough, it hurt. He winced slightly before reaching over with abnormally pale hands for the plate and fork. After all, he wasn't animal enough to forsake his dignity and eat without utensils, no matter his condition. His fingers weren't exactly doing quite what he wanted, though, and he could only make them hold the fork loosely as he stabbed some small piece of tuna and carefully raised it to his lips. As he swallowed, he winced once more, the pebble feeling as if it might have escalated to gold ball-size....
Shin nodded at the question, pausing to bring the mug to his lips for yet another sip before he set it down silently and replied, "Yes, they're fine, Haro.... The bandages are just a precaution... The doctor said that the cuts were not deep enough to cause any lasting damage and said that, with the serum, the cuts should be safe by now...." he murmured, glancing down at his still bandaged hands. Technically, he no longer needed them, but... as always, Shin was careful. After all, who knew what would happen if he wasn't? For the Hemopheliac, death was always much closer at hand than it was for others...
He glanced back to Haro, guessing at least some of the other's thoughts. "Listen, Haro... I told you -- I'm fine. You don't need to worry, it's not your fault. And I would much rather have a few cuts than to have you gone..." he murmured, his expression and tone full of both kindness and sinserity. He leaned forward and pressed a small kiss to the crown of the other boy's head, ruffling his hair slightly with one gentle, pale hand.

Benji eyed the cat cautiously, carefully for any noticeable signs of pain or difficulty, and although the boy was eating rather slowly and swallowing just as gingerly, he seemed fine. Smiling appreciatively as the snake set down two mugs of hot tea, one for Liao and one for his other guest, Benji glanced up as he brought the glass to his lips. Wei looked...serious, thoughtful...at the moment. He had had that same stoic face on ever since they had reached his apartment. The bird figured the older man was reeling at the idea he could've killed the kitten. Benji would tell Wei later that the boy was in no way near dying, just very cold and hungry.
"Are you feeling okay?" He asked the boy, watching out of the corner of his eye as Wei scuttled back off towards the kitchen.
Haro tensed as Shin nudged a hand through his hair. It wasn't that he didn't like the tiger touching him, under somewhat normal circumstances the lovebird would've melted under such attention, but since he had just reminded himself about Shin's cuts he wasn't quite in the mood for being petted. Part of him believed that the tiger truly didn't mind the cuts, but with how careful Shin was all the time and how horribly nerve wracking that whole situation had been the other part of him highly doubted Shin would go through it again given the chance. Picking the older teen's hand off of his head, Haro placed it back on his side of the table, golden-amber eyes boring into his mug as he did so, "I...make things...I mean I know it wasn't really all my fault but they hurt you and sometimes--" He stopped, heaving a breath as he stared down into his half empty mug, "...sometimes I think you'd be better off with me gone," he mumbled, wrapping arms around himself as he hunched forward.

Liao swallowed slowly, wincing slightly as the bit of tuna didn't quite go down the way he wanted. His throat felt like it was growing smaller, too, though how that was possible he did not know. He glanced up towards Benji as he spoke, his large gray-blue eyes seeming rather... glazed. He nodded slowly and mumbled, his speach not coming quite as well as he would have liked it to, "Yeah, I've lived through worse...."
His fingers were feeling better -- not quite so numb, and he could use them slightly... better now. He was still a bit cold, though, and although he was no longer shivering, it was evident that he could stand it to be a bit warmer in the room. Only... his head. It felt... strange. Warm. Hot, even -- which should have been pleasant after being stuck out in the cold for so long. And yet it didn't.
It didn't even occur to Liao that he might be getting sick. He had always been in good health and hardly ever did he find himself unwell.
Shin allowed the boy to place his hand upon the table, all the while his bright blue gaze fixed upon the small teen. He remained silent several moments after Haro's words, his eyes downcast, before they raised to meet the other's. "Haro... I... if you weren't here, I would be alone. And I would be very sad. I don't mind a few scratches so much that I'd rather have you gone. They're already almost completely healed over. I can barely even see the marks any more," he replied slowly, his voice soft. "I... I don't want you gone. I love you, you know? So why do you always think I'd be better off without you?" he asked, his words soft. He gave the other a small smile, though he didn't exactly look happy. How could he be, when the boy was thinking of leaving? That always made him so... so sad.

Benji frowned as he took another sip of tea, his frown deepening as Wei took a seat across from them, eating something that looked...quite undercooked. Shuddering slightly, the bird turned his gaze away from the pinky-red substance slabbed onto his plate towards the kitten who was all of a sudden not looking too well. Feeling the small teen's forehead, Benji blinked before nudging the kid out of Wei's jacket. "Don't want to overheat you," he murmured to the boy before handing the coat back to Wei, who gratefully donned it in a matter of seconds, sinking further into his chair at he stabbed a chunk of...something. Making a rather displeased face, the lovebird wrenched his gaze from the plate to slitted, green eyes.
"Wei...? You're okay as well, I take it?" He asked, a numb feeling settling in his stomach at how tired the snake appeared, not to mention he could barely contain a human form... The tanned male glanced upwards a moment, staring at Benji before his gaze flickered towards Liao.
"Peachy, Benji, peachy."
"I know," Haro murmured, glancing upwards for a moment before finishing off his drink. "I know you do, but... I just wish," he started, leaning his elbows on the table as he raked hands through his hair, golden eyes flickering between the cat and the tabletop. "I wish that I didn't get you hurt. I mean, I know you'd probably be lonely without me but...you wouldn't get hurt, at least," he tried to explain, sighing after what seemed a few minutes but was probably much less. "I know it would hurt, on the inside, but I just don't want to kill you accidentally," he mumbled, the double meaning of his words floating right over his head like many things, including Sparrow's teasing from earlier that day. Slipping out from his seat, Haro brushed a careful fingertip along the older male's hand, ending as he traced a design into his thumb. Pressing a gentle kiss to the tiger's cheek, Haro continued in a clearly ancious voice, "If I...somehow made you get hurt again... I don't think- I couldn't-" He fumbled for the right words before trying again, "I'm not going to leave until you ask me to, so don't...worry about that, I just don't think I could take seeing you hurt again," he said softly.

Liao sat there somewhat lamely and allowed Benji to do whatever was... needed with the jacket. He glanced towards the man, a rather blank expression on his own, quite overly flushed, face. He had finished the tuna and set the plate down carefully on the table, the fork resting lightly on its surface. His hands felt... heavy. And sort of floppy. He turned them over slowly in his lap, gray eyes studying them with a sort of placid disinterest. But it was something to do, as opposed to nothing. Something was always better than nothing, at least to Liao. He raised a hand slowly to his forehead, pale flesh against pale flesh. It felt... hot. He frowned slightly, wondering what in the world was going on.
"Mmm... gonna... go to bed..." he mumbled, the words only just barely distinguishable.
Shin nodded slowly, for once unsure what to say. But that was incorrent -- he was nearly always unsure what to say, and yet he somehow seemed to prevail. But not this time. He swallowed slightly thickly, his soft eyes seemingly sadened by the seriousness of the conversation. "I won't get hurt again, I promise.... So please... please promise that you'll stay with me..." he murmured, his bright eyes on the other's golden ones. He wanted to... to reach forward and hug the small boy, but... but he wasn't sure if he could. If Haro would let him. Usually, yes, even if he were surprised it was... alright. But with the current situation, it might not be... wise.
Smart. That was what he had to be, wasn't it? Always thinking about his actions, his emotions, his words... everything. Everything was so carefully placed, as if life were some sort of incredibly complex and important game. Because no moment could be left wasted, wasn't that it? Then why did he feel that when he measured his steps so accurately that he wasted the moments spent thinking far more than anything else?
Shin's eyes, then, were unreadable... and filled with a sort of remorse. Regret.

Simply because he was so close to the boy, Benji heard the little cat's mumble as he walked slowly towards what seemed to be the room he was using. "He seems a little out of it," the bird murmured quietly as Wei leaned forward, cradling his head in his arms. Glancing to see if the boy was out of the room yet, the orange-eyed male pushed his mug of tea towards Wei before standing up to examine the older man. Titling his head to one side as he hovered over the snake, Benji pushed Wei's chin up in a gentle fashion before frowning. Wei was...not exactly human at the moment, which couldn't be good. More human than animal, but still, with his body temperature troubles it was no wonder he looked so tired. Brushing away black hair from dark features, Benji murmured, "Go to bed. You look like you're about to pass out anyway."
True to his nature, Wei stood up, grabbing the bird's wrist with such vigor that said young man wondered if Wei was really tired or not. "Only if you come with me~" He said in a low voice, pupils flickering between normal and otherwise as he stared down at the other. Chuckling a bit, Wei let the frazzled bird go as he took a swig of his tea. "Kidding. You promised to check on the kitten, anyway...and with how highly you think of promises I wouldn't dare whisk you away from your duties," he said with a whisper of a grin as he slid past Benji.
Dropping back down onto the coach in an energy-less manner, the bright-haired man sighed heavily as Wei left for his room. It must've been the cold, Wei's brain wasn't working properly because on any other occasion he wouldn't be talking to him like that... And he wouldn't have kissed him, even if it was just a stupid peck on the cheek. Leaning back into the seat, Benji kicked back his legs onto the coffee table as he settled in for a long night.
Haro looked suddenly hurt, his shoulders tensing up as he fought back the heaviness in his chest. "You can't promise that," he said, his expression teetering on the edge of anger. "You can't promise that you'll never get hurt," he said again, this time in a more more frantic manner. Swallowing, Haro took a step backwards from the table, from Shin. "I already said I'd leave when you told me to," he mumbled, his tone flat as he stared at the ground.
"What if I hurt you accidentally?" He asked quietly, his voice shaking as he staved off tears. He wasn't really mad at Shin with his empty promises and his...his inability to yell at him, or something...anything. He wasn't mad, but he was afraid. He didn't know how Shin expected him to...to-- Haro flushed, "Shin you...it's not your fault but you make me not think sometimes," he said, trying to explain, "My head just doesn't work right sometimes when I think about you, and what if I do something stupid?"

Liao stumbled almost unseeingly into his room, suddenly feeling quite overly tired. He didn't even bother to undress -- or, for that matter, close the door. He simply fell, exhausted, onto the bed, kicked off his shoes and pulled the covers completely over his self, head included, before curling up, tucking his head in towards his knees, arms wrapping lightly around his legs, tail curling delicately across his legs and feet. He yawned slowly and then settled down, eyes closing almost before he had even laid down. He snuggled deeply into the covers, wanting the sheets and matress to become warm as quickly as possible.
Shin nodded slowly, his eyes dropping towards the floor. He knew it had been childish of him to promise such a thing -- something that was so impossible to hold to. "I know, but... but I can try," he murmured slowly, eyes downcast. He couldn't stand to hear Haro speaking in such a way. "I already said I'd leave when you told me to." It sounded as if... as if Haro took it for granted that, eventually, Shin would want for the small bird to go. And Shin... Shin couldn't handle that.
Father had left first, though he couldn't quite remember it. And then Mother... though she was not gone, he knew very well what his family was trying in vein to hide from him. And Ryan and his other cousins, who had, for a while, been living with him, had left when their precense began to cause too much comotion, too much strain on his health -- to many confrontations, too many shattered glasses. It was always that way -- move in, get accustommed, have fun, get uncomfortable, throw a fight, get thrown out. They were never allowed to work through it... They just... left whenever he was in 'danger.' Because it was for the best, wasn't it, to be alone and physically unheart, than to work through something to the end.
"Haro, I... I'm sorry..." he murmured slowly, bright blue hues cast once more towards the floor.
