*Enter Luana*

For the first time in three days Luana was soundly asleep. She was still dressed in her purple spandex suit, which included an uncomfortably bulky utility belt, but she was too exhausted to care. She was curled up on the barroom floor, hugging a body pillow.

((Anyone home?))

Her eyes snapped open, but no other part of her moved. She lay and listened for anyone else.

With the sigh of meditation, Janani makes a rather tame appearance to the Brink. Her eyes are closed as she sits on the floor. Her clothing is a little different than usual. She's wearing nothing but white robes, and their dampness makes them clingy and censor like transparent. It's that point where it's transparent but opaque... Yeah. Anyway. It might be strange to see her like this. The sigh was actually a breath. She kind of appears to be in a slightly unconscious state.

Mail clinked suddenly as the black haired Irishwoman appeared in the main room of the Brink. The cloak about her shoulders was dripping puddles of water all over the floor; her face and hair were wet too, as apparantly she'd neglected to pull up her hood.

"...but I'll be expectin' reports by midmorning Jessop, so..."

Cutting off midsentence, she blinked blue eyes in surprise, the realization that she was no longer addressing her second dawning on her. Unease crawled over her features, and she curled gloved fingers still stiff with cold around her sword hilt, seeking it's reasuring presense. Drawing in a breath and expelling it on a sigh, she moved hesitantly to sit heavily in one of the vacant chairs, a bleak expression on her face.

"This again...the madness is returning."

Muttering a mixture of curses and prayers in Gaelic, she scrubbed her hands over her face in a gesture of helplessness. For months she'd been free of this place; now her mind had returned to this mad illusion. She'd return, she knew, return to the exact spot she'd left from, the exact moment, and remember being somewhere else. Was she mad? Was she losing her mind to age and dementia?

The soldier sank to her knees, gripping the cross around her neck with her right fist and pressing it to her lips. Prayer came freely, and she poured her heart into it. The string of Gaelic would be incomprehensible to anyone from another time, but just the sight of her communicated the exact context of her actions.

((Somebody posted today...and not to long ago... *ponders possibility of said somebody still being around*))

The giant of a woman appears, bending over as if she were giving something to somebody smaller than her, like a child...or a human for that matter. She's smiling and patting at the air as if something were there. When she opens her eyes, the first thing she notices is that, well, the floor is much further away than it was a second ago. Her eyes widen at the sight as she abruptly stands erect and begins looking around. She lets out a relieved sigh as she notices it's the Brink. She hasn't noticed anybody else yet, so she shrugs and wonders if she's going to be alone here again. Before heading towards the bar, she tucks her cat plushie under her arm.

*Enter Cora from guest halls*

:::Cora wanders slowly to the door leading into the main room, she steps all the way through and surveys the area with a new pair of eyes. She'd just woken up, in more ways than one.

The lithium haze had been lifted from her, and part of her felt renewed, and determined not to sink so low again. Yet another part of her wanted nothing more than not to feel the heart ache.

When she woke up just an hour or two prior, she'd decided that the emptiness, pain, and misery weren't going to subside anytime soon. Filling them with random tasks, and company had always been difficult to do in a reliable fashion. Cora would have to find a reason for the things she was being put through. If she could just decide why, why it was worth it to feel all these things, then she could live with them...:::

:::Still dressed in the garments of the celebration in her honor, she plopped herself at a seat by the bar. She had slept with her hair tied back and with flowers and bangles tucked into it, so now it looked rather messy. She began undoing them:::

*Enter Mystina*

*Mystina faded into the Brink, winding up in one of the many chairs. Her eyes were closed at first, with her hands behind her head. Then she noticed that the air had changed, the scent of the forest was gone and the warmth of the sun with it.*

Mmm? *She opened her eyes and looked around* Ooh, Cora! *She bounced up out of the chair and over towards her* You look pretty, have you been to a festival? *She said as the began to bounce around Cora in a circle*

:::Having just gotten up from her bed, Cora was still a bit lacking in energy, not to mention enthusiasm. The fairy seemed to have enough for the both of them though. However, watching her made Cora almost feel twice as lethargic:::

Yes, I have... some sort of celebration. I just- I just got back.

*Mystina smiled and tilted her head* You look worn out. Would you like help getting those objects out of you hair? *She smiled at Cora* I'm used to waking up with similar items tangled within my own hair after a festival.

...or after the baby has decided to play with my hair while I slept.

:::Cora smiled::: Yes, could you?

:::Setting her hands back down on the bar, she let Mystina take over. Cora believed it when Mystina said she had experience with hair accessories:::

I haven't seen you in quite a while, how is everything in your time?
PostPosted: Fri Sep 14, 2007 11:56 am

*Mystina smiled as she began to work at the bangles and items in Cora's hair, and nodded* For the most part, they are.... I'm still having to learn things and read most of the time. *She frowned at that, because she didn't enjoy some of the things she read*

And I've learned how to make a sword, even though I'm not supposed to! *She giggled* What about you, how have you been? Where.. or should I say, when was the festival you were at?

I went to Kal and Kara's time... they threw a celebration for me. :::She tried to sound happy about that, but the fact that it was all over was sort of sad:::

It was wonderful. :::She sighed quietly to herself:::

*Mystina frowned, she could tell that Cora was not happy, as she continued to remove the items from her hair she pulled out a flower* Ooh, a flower! *She leaned over and handed it to Cora, and decided to change the subject*

I know they have a hard time growing things there, and other problems, what was it like? *She hoped maybe the change of subject from the party, to what the actual world was like may make Cora feel better* It must have been nice to leave here even if just for a bit.

:::Cora took the flower and twirled it between the tips of her fingers. She answers absently:::

Hot...

:::Just then one of the bangles Mystina was removing snagged her hair and Cora snapped back into the conversation:::

It was very hot there, until it turned dark. Then the elevated temperatures began to drop. The floors there are all smooth and made of stone so they don't absorb the heat. So, the enclosed court area wasn't uncomfortable...

:::She thought of what else stood out to her:::

Everyone there is young. Its kind of bizarre. It reminded me of the story of Siddhartha.
