Raven62
Will we need to keep track of our word counts for this, or will we be given xp at the end like the last event?
Also...is there a turn order? Do we have to wait for everyone else to post, I am imagining, after my first post? NEED ANSWERS. xD
Mmkk....also....how many fog generators are there active? It says Y you take 3 maximum off. X you take 300 maximum off. What is minimum? How are they disabled? If there can be 300 of them, but the max deduction on Y is 3, then it seems arbitrary to put the numbers because it seems impossible to destroy 297 of them. xD
Also, what happens if you attack a player? It gives the calculation to do so, but no information on what happens if you succeed....so...do you initiate stat combat at that point? Or?
Just a lot of things to be cleared up. Haha.
Also, I don't know if we realized this, but this FIRST ROUND is going to take about 20 posts EACH. I don't know if people realize how many months that will take with this group. xD
Like...I just rolled 9/10 and went a total of 2/100 steps. So I would need to post another 50 rolls of 9 or 10....OR another 99 rolls of pretty much anything else. xD Unless Y reduces things to 0, if there is no minimum of 1 step per turn. If Y can reduce to 0, then I might just have to make an INFINITE number of posts until I can roll 9 another 50 times. lol.
Yes, I realized last night that I said "turn" without posting a turn order. Fixing that thusly:
I have written down all of the names and rolled a D6 multiple times, the turn order will be the following: Raven62, DenShazo, Come Play, ssAntonio, Karasu_Tenma.
But, due to the current dilemma of Karasu_Tenma being without internet for at least the next 3 days, if not 4, I have decided to go with a suggestion I received: Each player may make 5 posts per out of game day. This is to allow the other players to play without having to wait on the others who cannot or don't post.
To prevent players from being completely inactive and holding the rest of the group up I am instating the following rule: If every other contestant has reached the finish line and a player has not even made one post, they will be given 3 days. If they do not make a post, they will be disqualified from the event as they have not met the conditions of success and we will move on to the next stage.
You do not need to keep track of your word counts because, just like with the Lost Alloy, every participant will be rewarded exp based on the number of posts. However, keep in mind that if you are not able to pass one of the rounds, your exp count ends there. You will only be given the exp for the rounds that your character is still participating in. Although you'll be given exp per post, please do not refrain from RPing to your heart's content in your posts. I will be reading them and anything particularly intriguing that you do might earn you bonus exp.
This exp rate is also why the movement takes so long. The longer it takes you to move, the more posts you get, the more exp you earn. However, you can disable the generators to make it easier to move and easier to attack.
I had thought it was implied that since Y = 3 Fog Generators, there were only 3 of them to disable. I suppose it wasn't as clear as I thought and I'll be changing the wording to make that more clear.
No, there is no actual combat. This is basically an exercise in blindfolded paintball. When you "attack" a player, you roll to see if you mark them with the kunai. Each mark will reduce the overall points you are granted at the end of the stage. If you are marked by 10, you're out. I'm purposefully keeping the points hidden because those are how I am determining your chances at actually becoming a Chuunin.
Keep in mind though, there are other factors. Even if you pass every stage with flying colors, you might not make Chuunin. You'll still get the exp rewards, but the rank is not guaranteed upon success. And I can hear people preparing their pitchforks for if they don't get promoted.... *sigh*
Final thought: In regards to moving: If you roll so badly that you end up with a negative number, it does not send you back that many steps. You simply do not advance forward.
EDIT:
One more thing: I know everyone is a badass in their own right, but if you use a buff or doujutsu, you're automatically caught and will be disqualified immediately. Please do not start a big combat post just because you wanted to break the rules of the exam.
