On the one hand, it's a gathering of idiots, on the other hand, it can be entertaining.

I just have to say this one thing...

ROUGH RIDERS PWN!!!

I played an army wqith 3 10 man rough rider regiments with storm troopers and grenadiers supporting and all i can say is that they completely beat the s**t out of grey knights, dark eldar, deathwing, tau, and blood angels. My god do they own.....

have you tried that against Striking Scorpians. Mandiblasters are the bane of rough riders

Yes well, I am getting sick and tired of these fecking "jokes", they've been around for years.

Why do you have jokes in quotations? I mean it's not like it's a racist "joke."
Quote:
Maybe I'm past the juvinile jokes that I no longer find them funny, but it's getting really old, really fast.

Well that's understandable but does that really merit yelling at somebody because they made a crack about the lasgun? I mean let's face it the lasgun by itself is one of the least impressive weapons there are.

oh dude.... striking scorpians do hurt now that i think about it... they hit Initiative 7 right??? ugh the best you can do with rough riders is... 6?

But Rough Riders get power weapon attacks on the charge, something the basic Striking ScorpIOn can't boast.

yes I was discussing different guard options with one of my local eldar guys and we were on how guard could bring the best Combat Patrol options. And we were discussing how a guy with a 10 strong RR squad was running him from the table until he decided it would be good to charge his SS

Mat please, don't turn Striking Scorpions into the acronym ss, especially not with capital 'S'. Unless you mean steam ship, it's okay, but some gits get aroused in a bad way when seeing that acronym.

Just remember with Rough Riders, they only get the lances on the first charge in the game, afterwards they discard them and use their own pistols or swords.

I wish you could stagger the use of those lances... I'm planning on giving an Honorifica Imperialis to a Rough Rider Sergeant, and having an(other) unofficial command squad, on horse-back.

One of the better boosts for Rough Riders is the carapace armour upgrade. The codex says that you must either give it to all your infantry, or to your Rough Rider squads. This means that with shotguns or hunting lances, you can create Cuirassiers or Life Guards of the Royal Household Cavalry.

Another doctrine to keep in mind is hardened fighters, a WS boost will always come in handy with units that will see short-lived combat before they die.

Meh.. Flashlights.

Could you fecking feckers for once be more original with naming lasguns. I swear the next fecker to say flashlight will be sent to Oz. What next? Card board armour? Bad stats? Be fecking original for once.
Well, granted that I have very limited experience with actually playing 40K, but if Dawn of War speaks for anything, then Guardsmen just riddle the s**t out of...everything. (minus vehicles)

And besides, I believe the point of the Imperial Guard is to load up on tons of Guardsmen (and have some badass vehicle support) which can and will hit you eventually, and then there's still another eighty guys who get to fire.
